2nd attempt...............hot flashes Page 3 of 3

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Flashes coming more frequently this afternoon so the remedy effects lasted about 2 1/2 days.

If you have the same bottle preserved, you can take a couple more doses from the same medicinal solution when ever symptoms are strong. But it's IMPORTANT that you shake the bottle up and down for four times just before the dose. Keep the bottle away from sunlight and moisture.

Unlike dry doses these can be repeated frequently(but give a gap of atleast a week) but the same caution needs to be maintained. If a dose creates aggravation stop with that dose and report.

Maheeru,
I haven't yet taken another dose. I wanted to run this by you first. Can you have an aggravation after an improvement?
I was doing so well and then the flashes began to return and after a couple more days I then had a day of very intense and frequent flashes (every 30 minutes)with a lot of sweating, unusually so the sweat was visible on my face. I also started to feel weepy again. I am now in my second day of this situation. The flashes are only slightly less than yesterday and I am still feeling weepy.

winnieandco 6 years ago
Yes after improvement symptoms can return after a period but would be in lesser intensity than before. If they return in more intensity then the base of disease which we call miasmatic influence could be a contributing factor.

You can go ahead with water dose after shaking the bottle. Let us see if we can get benefit out of sulph. doses before making a move.

I took another dose in water yesterday but I have not had any improvement at all.

I thought I should mention that I had a night of itching as I had once before. I have also had a headache for 2 days now. The whole of the right side of my face is aching and my right nasal passage is blocked. I took pain killers on going to bed last night but when I woke this morning the headache was still there.

winnieandco 6 years ago
still have the headache. Flashes are more frequent, at least one an hour.

winnieandco 6 years ago
The itching and headache ---have you had them before or completely new?

Did you shake the bottle just before the dose? If yes how many times?

So with this dose there was no improvement on main complaints at all?

maheeru 6 years ago
I had a similar headache and itching after the first 200 dry dose of sulphur (see my post 10/30).
I shook the bottle 5 times.
Today I have had fewer hot flashes but when I have them they are strong with a lot of sweat on my face.
The sweat on my face is a new symptom, i wasn't getting that befoer.

Oh i was not asking about the old symptoms after starting sulph. I'm asking if these were there much earlier---much earlier before you started sulph. doses?

Has there been any positive change with main complaints?

maheeru 6 years ago
Sorry. I misunderstood. I did not previously have these symptoms. I have in the past been prone to headaches but not lasting as long as these did.
As for improvements, I have been sleeping better. Last night I was woken four times with hot flashes but each time I went right back to sleep afterwards.
This morning I have only had one flash since getting up so that too is an improvement

winnieandco 6 years ago
I don't believe this is doing me any good. Any improvements last at most 2 days. I am right back where I began. Even the blocked nose is back. I need to try something else...............

winnieandco 6 years ago
Ok. Was thinking to ask you to take another dose with just two shakes. It was an effort to minimise new symptoms while trying to take benefit of the medicine. But it seems improvement is not holding. Generally after an improvement, when symptoms return, they should be in lesser intensity. But our results have been mixed.

Do you have any remedy in mind?

My next choice would be Sepia.

maheeru 6 years ago
I was considering both Sepia and Sanguinaria.............
Currently hot hands is the beginning of the flash which then rushes to my face.

winnieandco 6 years ago
Ok winnieandco. Sanguinaria even though is indicated for this, the weightage falls in the middle rank and not in the maximum rank unlike sulph., sepia, Lachesis and even Sumbucus.

As a next step we can go ahead with sepia 30c. Take one pill/drop as a dose every day for three consecutive days during day time. Observe changes and report.

Also procure 200c of this medicine. If you want you can also buy the smallest quantity. We can use it as a wet dose which won't require a lot of medicine.

maheeru 6 years ago
I will go ahead and get some Sepia.
The reason I was looking at Sanguinaria is partly because I have never tried this remedy, whereas I had tried sepia in the past.
I am going to wait a few days just to see if anything else changes. As I said before, the heat and sweating on the face are new. I never used to have this symptom at all. Also the flashes are rather erratic right now but they used to be as regular as clockwork.

I cannot understand what is going on here. My flashes have got much worse. Frequent, VERY hot, and very sticky. They feel different to the way they used to. Is this an aggravation that I am experiencing?

winnieandco 6 years ago
How many days have passed since the dose? Aggravation usually happens within a week and they need to be followed by improvement, while there is aggravation general factors like mood, energy have to be good.

As i said earlier the reaction to sulph. has been disappointing however it seemed indicated.

Do you mean sweaty by sticky?

My last dose was Nov 14th so 18 days.
I am very worried that everything has changed so much. It is much worse than it was when we started. Last night I didn't get to sleep until around 4am because it was just one flash after another, barely 15 minutes between them, and yes I did mean sweaty. My hands are hot almost all of the time and then when the flash comes they burn and sweat and my face sweats. These are all entirely new symptoms. Generally I feel good but the least upset will bring me to tears.

You can try silicea 30c .. twice a day now. But maheeru Will guide you further .. as he's taking the case originally ..
Just my suggestion (as something else..)

Yes winnieandco seems this is undesired aggravation could be from medicine or from the disease itself(in the earlier post i had talked about desirable aggravation).  The course ahead could be to use anti dote or another remedy suitable to your symptoms.

Your earlier write up had characteristic symptoms of many medicines like sepia, puls, Lach and SULPHUR.  Sulphur has not worked very well.  So we need to choose another one.

For extreme heat and flushes, Lach., and Glonoine can help.

I will give you a link about various remedies used in this complaint.  If you think any one is matching you closely we can start with that one in 30c.  I have already talked about sepia.  And a new suggestion from another member is Silicea.

It was clear that the Sulphur 200 had caused an aggravation as I developed rashes on both arms. These went away after a week or so. The hot flashes had improved so I decided to do nothing and ride this out to see where it went. Since then I have had 3 weeks or so of various flu like symptoms and just recently a flare up of diverticulitis. Neither problem I have had for some time. There are a lot of bugs going around though and I can't decide if I have just a new bout of sickness or if this is a symptom clearing caused by the sulphur. Is there any way to decide?

winnieandco 6 years ago
If they are symptom clearing, they will clear up in a short time frame and will be followed with some betterment in main symptoms.

How much improvement have you seen in your main symptoms?

When you had asked for sanguinaria i raised an objection. Actually when Lachesis and sulph. have not helped hot flushes sanguinaria is a good remedy---it's a good tip from literature---didn't strike me at that time. So if you feel it's a good match it can be used.

My flashes are much better. Some days are better than others but they are definitely a lot less frequent and I sleep better.

winnieandco 6 years ago
Ok explain with percentage where improvement is there, and elaborate on flu like symptoms and diverti..

maheeru 6 years ago
I would say a 75-80% improvement. I still have a few hot flashes but they are brought on by external change, for example entering a warm room or getting into bed. They don't come right out of the blue like they used to.

Flu like symptoms have mostly gone except for a stuffiness in my nose and a slight chestiness.
Diverticulitis attack is also much better. Not quite back to normal but almost. I have only had one previous attack which was about 5 years ago.
