Remedies for fleas on cats??

I have a beautiful cat who was I rescued when she was only 4-5 weeks old as she was left alone in the bush. She was covered with fleas when I found her and I've struggled to get rid of them ever since. She's now 2 years old. I've tried many treatments however she's very sensitive and reacts badly to chemicals. I've tried some natural sprays, however they don't work much. I have gotten rid of a lot, but she still scratches and over-grooms, I just can't seem to get rid of all of them.

I read that homeopathic sulfur can help with fleas. I gave her a dose last night and her grooming and scratching seemed to increase. Could this be a bad reaction to the sulfur, or the fleas starting to be aggravated and being removed?

Sulphur 30 should be given twice a day for 3 days.
If this doesn't work give ledum 30 in the same way.
