Epileptic seizures in my cat - please help

Hello

My family has been using homeopathy for years and we love it. Our cat starting having seizures about 18 months ago and we went to the vet and he responded well to phenobarb, twice daily and he started to get back to his old self a few months after starting treatment. We hadn't thought to use homeopathy for the cat but in recent months, his seizures have starting to reoccur and it is very upsetting for us all so any help anyone could offer would be most gratefully received.

I believe his seizures were triggered by a spot-on worm treatment as he started salivating and crying about 1 day after we put it on him. We have 2 other cats so he may have also groomed the others. The next day, he startled howling loudly which was very unlike him. The next day, the seizures began where he would run into the wall repeatedly and freak out. He was in ICU for a few days, was blind and had a lot of tests but as he responded well to phenobarb while there, I didn't want to keep paying more and more money out for so many tests as he had already had so many tests and all were clear. The only test that was reading extremely high was some test that showed how high his levels were (to indicate he had a seizure).

He has always been a skittish cat who spooks easily and doesn't like strangers or the vacuum. He doesn't like sudden loud noises either. He runs and hides in all of these situations. However, he is very loving and affectionate with us, especially with our daughter. He purrs easily, even when we are giving him his tablet which he takes very easily (the vet was astounded at how easy it is to give to him).

He is a quiet cat so his meows are soft and mainly during mealtimes. He has a small build for a male and he is very placid, easy to pick up etc. We got him from the RSPCA as a kitten so we don't really know his history. We had him for over 3 years without the seizures. He loves it when the oldest cat grooms him but he doesn't really like the rag doll cat that arrived about 1 year after him. Gizmo is 5 years old.

I look forward to hearing from any of you who may have some suggestions and ideas. Thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him Cuprum Met 30 twice a day for 3 days and see how that affects.

If this doesn't help give Ledum 30 in the same way.

You may give 2-5 pills as one dose. Straight in mouth or as sips after dissolving in some water.

Thanks so much for your advice. We have been trying the cuprum for the last two days and the cat seems more like himself but is still having at least one seizure a day. We are still giving him his phenobarb twice a day. Should we expect to cut that right out or use it with the cuprum?

Also, prior to trying cuprum, we gave him Pulsatilla drops and he seemed much less skittish. Can we give both remedies and maybe cut out or down on the phenobarb? If so, which way or amount should we dose him?

Give him both Cuprum Met and Pulsatilla. Phase out phenobarb step by step by reducing the dose and then increasing the gap.
