Lower than 6C?

Hello, my baby is 16 months, and we are trying to solve many problems. My naturopath suggested lycopodium starting at 6C. I gave one pellet and she had a very strong aggravation that lasted 4 days. After that she was much improved for about 3 days. I'd like to make this process less painful, starting slower.

What is the next step down from 6C? I was thinking 3C, but I'm not sure. Is lycopodium toxic at this dilution?

I was also considering a Q scale, but it sounds very complicated to administer. If there are some clear instructions, I would try.

Thank you kindly for any advice you can offer.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I would go up in potency and do a water dose. Google drluc.com and read on this.

Is your naturopath a certified homeopath?

I will take a look at Dr. Luc's website. I should add that because of her age I did dilute the single 6C pellet in a teaspoon of distilled water (without succession, just a small swirl at the end) and administered that in a syringe to prevent choking.

I'm not sure if he's certified. He is a generalist, and classical homeopaths in the US are rare. There is a wait list on the only practice nearby. :[

You seem to have some good knowledge and I would like to give you some possible options, second opinion if wanted.

Homeopathy2health based in Wisconsin ,has dr.leela D'Souza md homeopath , doing online Skype etc for many years-excellent homeopath,
She partners with them out of Mumbai.

Lia bello nurse homeopath and teacher is in New Mexico. Best to call her and she will do acutes via phone for $50 with follow ups along with long distance cases.

Both these people are very expert,
Easy to talk to, high integrity.

I have looked at Dr. Luc's website - lots of good information! However, I don't see any clear instructions on how to make a water dose (although he speaks highly of all the benefits.) Do you have a particular page with a link that you can share?

Can I also ask you: Why go up in potency for the water dose if 6C caused an aggravation? Did diluting the 6C in a teaspoon of water and giving her the full amount cause problems?

Look back at dr luc page and under 17 read potency and dose article
Since I do not know the case or if acute things are going on or skin issues and you do , then you can get a better sense of whether to try 6c much more diluted and giving drops instead of a spoon.

You can google how to make a water dose and look at the various ways to do that.

If 6c caused a drastic reaction and after that, there was an improvement followed by a relapse, Lyc is probably not the right remedy. If the dose of Lyc was strong enough to cause a 4 day aggravation, it should have also led to a slow recovery if it was the simillimum. Lyc rarely bears repetition.

I would stay clear of LMs (as these are most deep acting of all potencies). With one of the deepest acting remedies of our materia medica (Lyc), unless you are absolutely sure of it being the perfect remedy, it can be risky to use them. You also need the guidance of someone who is experienced at case management with LMs.

I would also be very wary of following Dr Lucs methods in repeating centesimals (beyond the very low ones) like LMs in water. They are not meant to be repeated frequently. I have met many a cases spoilt by frequent repetition of water doses with 30c or beyond with deep acting remedies.

Stay with 6x or 3c if you are not sure of the remedy especially as it seems your child is sensitive to remedies.

Hi,

Since you are new on here, wanted to let you know you can click user names and see profiles. Sameer is a real homeopath in SanDiego.

Sameer, thank you for your insightful comments. It's very difficult to ascertain the perfect remedy with her lack of communication skills, but I hope that when she gets older we will be able to get a more ideal solution.

For now, I will get the 3c or 6X. Should I put it in water, or no? And if so, do you have any general instructions or a website that you can share for the best way to give it this way?

Perhaps I should also add that she is sensitive to milk protein, so I was considering the liquid version of 6x, but I'm unclear how to start out the dosing based on our 6c dry test dose.

But maybe the lactose in the pellets doesn't have milk protein, so it should not be a concern? Please advise.

Thank you kindly for all of your help.

It is slightly more challenging to prescribe for young children but not impossible. If you are observant enough, there are enough cues to prescribe accurately. I have given remedies to 1 day old infants with great success.

If you would like to tell me the symptoms, I can see if something else comes up.

Sameer -

Last week on Wednesday I gave her one tablet of 3c dissolved in a tsp of water. She appeared to have an aggravation:
- restlessness and irritability
- loose stools/the runs
- swollen red skin
... like last time, but this time the loose stools and red skin has not stopped for 7 days, and I have not seen any improvements in her original problematic symptoms. Very strange, because the first dose of 6c produced loose stools and a rash also, but they passed quickly and she showed improvements in her original symptoms for about 4 days.

Do I need to antidote or something? Please advise. She is losing weight. :(

Sorry to hear that. As I have mentioned earlier as well, in my opinion, Lyc is NOT the right remedy. This is one remedy which does not need repetition when it REALLY is the indicated remedy. With deep acting remedies like Lyc, one has to be extremely careful. In incompetent hands, one can cause great damage.

Given that this has gone on for 7 days, this does need anti-doting.

Procure some Pulsatilla 6x, dissolve 1 pellet in 250 ml spring water (let the pellet melt in water for 15 mins and shake gently once melted), and then rub about half a teaspoon of that on her wrist (palm side where the wrist skin is thin, and veins are visible), till it gets absorbed.

Report in 2 days.

Thank you for the information! It will take me a day or two to procure the pulsatilla, so I will report 2 days after I administer it.
