CIDP Disease

She had pain in her hips and we presumed she is suffering from sciatica pain so we went to a popular orthopedic doctor at Faridabad and he started his treatment for 4 months. Finally when he gave his opinion on a symptom reported by my wife of “hands trembling” to Alzheimer disease. This prompted me to take her to my Family Doctor who immediately after examining my wife sent her to a Neurologist at Metro hospital Faridabad. On going though many tests and examinations it was declared as CIDP ('Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy”).

1. She had been put on steroids for for up to 15 Months after keeping her as Indoor patient for 5 days. Started with 60 mg and then now tapered down to zero. It is almost zero for the last 25 days.

2. Her condition is a lot better but the following problems are troubling her.
3. Itching on the whole body.
4. Numbness on the lower surface of her feet.
5. Breathlessness on a little exertion more on lying down position. She can not lie straight. She sleeps on right or left side.
6. Pain in knees.
7. Can not keep her legs off the ground (hanging). Can not sit on a high chair. If she does she will have swelling on her legs.

These symptoms will go slowly or some of them are going to remain for ever as residual side effects of the disease or steroids.

I am sure some kind hearted Doctor will come to our rescue and suggest some remedy.
