dry cough & cold

dear docs,
i am 37 suffering with severe cold (running nose ) from 2 days and headache.now cough also started. ca you suggest the medicine.
i usually getting this kind of cold every 3-4 month. can you suggest preventive medicine also.

What makes them worse?
