Snoring in 6 mo old- Dr Kadwa, please help!

My 6 month old son has been stuffy at night since 2 weeks old, and recently, after a cold, has had been snoring at night, pauses in breathing few times a night, wakes frequently, mouth open, and so on. He is also teething, and now is on his 2nd cold. I believe it's his adenoids and am lookiing into calc phos 6 and other remedies to help shrink his adenoids. I recently quit eating gluten, and a few skin issues he had have cleared up, so I a hopeful that in a few months, the adnoid/ breathing issue will resolve as well. I am also noticing that my 7 year old has some of these same issues and my husband frequently snores as well. Can anyone help??

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
In this case Calcarea Carb 200 should help. Please give 2 pills twice a day for 3 days and see how that affects over a week.

Thank you! I have calc carb 200, so I will start it today.

It has been 9 days now. I gave him Calc Carb 200 2 times a day for 3 days. His snoring seems to be less at night, although he only sleeps for short segments at night, and he recently began to want to sleep tucked up against me at night on his side. If he is on his side. His breathing is pretty quiet. It is the loudest when he is sleeping in his stomach. He is still getting over a cold, so his nose is still stuffy and mucous-y from time to time.

Please repeat calc for 3 days.

kadwa 7 years ago
Thank you, will do.

It has been a week since we repeated the Calc Carb 200. He has had a few nights where he is not as loud at night and has slept for 2 or 3 four hour stretches at night in his crib. He still sounds like he has sticky mucous or something rattling a little in his nostrils at night. And every now and then he breaths hard, snorts, and wakes himself up again. Saline spray and the bulb syringe don't seem to help. Do I keep waiting?

Please give him Belladonna 200 twice a day for 3 days and see how that affects over a week.

kadwa 7 years ago
Thank you for the quick response. I have Belladonna in 3, 6, and 30c. Can I start there or should I order 200? Also, can I ask what leads you to suggest Belladonna?

I wonder if I should also mention that he has a spot of yeast in his neck crease that we've fighting for several months. I've used essential oils, unrefined coconut oil, Apple cider vinegar, and lately a homeopathic topical gel for yeast. The sun seem to be helping more than anything. He also tends to break out in red bumps when I eat gluten, and his bottom often becomes red around his anus after a bowel movement. An hour or so later, though it is usually faded.

Bell 30 should do. Sulph 200 will work better with additional symptoms that you have reported. Dosing pattern should remain same. Twice a day for 3 day with a break of a week.

kadwa 7 years ago
Ok, I just got Bell 200 from my mother, but have not started yet, so I can give Sulpher 30 instead, if you think that is best.

Started Sulpher 30 this morning. Will update in a week. He has been rubbing his nose and very restless while sleeping... Preferring to sleep on his side or back instead of his stomach, which he has from birth. He seems to breathe hard at night as well (and his mouth is often open) , especially now since it is hot and humid and we have turned our central air conditioning on.

Thank you for your help this far! We are all so tired from him not sleeping or napping well.

Update: his snoring seems to be slightly better. He does have a few globs of sticky light green/ white, mucous that I suction out once or twice per day. When he breathes at night now it often sounds like there is some loose mucous in his nose. Sometimes though he is quieter, especially if he sleeps on his side or back. Tummy sleeping he is louder. I also noticed that he is scratching at the yeast spot on his neck the last few days- is the Sulpher uprooting that perhaps? He also seems to sweat much more at night. When he is nursing, the back of his head is often damp from sweat and his back gets damp as well. It is summer here and the temps are much warmer lately, but our air conditioning is on and I did not notice the sweating until after the Calc carb. He is still not sleeping very long stretches at night, but perhaps that is a stage. He startles awake at night and also during naps during the day.

What is your opinion of foods aggravating his adenoids. Should I avoid gluten as I have been (mostly) doing or should I remove dairy? Dairy does cause me a little discomfort so I am wondering if that is the issue with him.

Jackie1 7 years ago
Each person should find out for himself his sensitivities to food. In this case you should do it for your baby. It has to be by trial and observation.

kadwa 7 years ago
Okay. So wait and see if he improves while I eliminate the next food group? I already know that he is sensitive to gluten. Other symptoms I am noticing are that he rubs his nose and eyes a lot and he seems worse at night with the air conditioning on, as opposed to when the windows are open.

He is still stuffy and I clean his nose out 1 or 2 times per day. It's usually green/ yellow/ whitish sticky mucous. He rubs his nose and eyes often and isn't sleeping well at all. I hoped the sleeplessness would get better when his first teeth came in, but it hasn't.

Please give him Ammonium Carb 30 twice a day for 5 days.

kadwa 7 years ago
Thank for the response.... I don't have Ammonia Carb on hand but I will order it. I looked it up in the material medica and he only identifies with a few of the symptoms.

Jackie1 7 years ago
Sorry, I meant Ammonium Carb!

Jackie1 7 years ago
Only few symptoms are enough in such cases.

kadwa 7 years ago
Thank you, that is reassuring. I'm still waiting for the remedy to arrive.

Jackie1 7 years ago
Something else, and I'm not sure how relevant this is, but we go thru periods where he only has a BM every other day or every 2 days. It doesn't seem to bother him overly much, but he definitely gets more restless when he is needing to have a BM. Regular chiropractor adjusting always regulates his BMs, but he hasn't been for about 2 months now.

Please see whether mag carb 30 or thuja 30 help him. Give the remedy twice a day for 3 days and wait for a week.

kadwa 7 years ago
Ok, I will look those up. Give in addition to Amonoium Carb? It finally arrived and he is on day 2 of taking it.
