Advice on taking Sulfur

I had gone through the online materia medica of James Tyler kent, and come to a conclusion that I am a fit case for sulphur. I had a lot of skin problem. It was dry patches all over the body. It was never fully cured. It remained on the genital. It used to get cured by TAF GM but again erupt wherever, there was heat in the body or atmosphere. Next I have red eruptions on the wings of my nostrils. They come and go. I lead a sedantary life style do a lot of thinking. I cannot wear any clothes other than cotton. Wool, terrycot or polyester will cause itching. This is especially in the thigh region. I am suffering from morning diarrhea for long. The key symptom is that I cannot bear the hunger pang that I get at 11 am. It is impossible to wait. I have to eat. Lastly, slow digestion, bloating if I take water. I would like to know that what is the potency I should take and how frequently should I take. Thanks.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Sulphur is deep acting remedy and generally used as inter-current remedy.

200 potency is good to start with because with 30 you might get some aggravation.

It would be good if you take nux v 200 (1 dose) at bed time and on the next day first thing in morning take sulphur 200 (1 dose). Then no more meficine and wait for 1 week, if you feel any change, you may report on the same thread.

If remedy in liquid, 2 drops in 2 teasepone of water makesa dose.

If in pills, 3 pills makes a dose.

Avoid coffee

Please read meficine as medicine

You are right. I took 6 potency, and my dandruff has aggravated. Should I start with 200 potency rightway or discontinue for a little while and then start?

arvindprasad 8 years ago
No harm in taking it rightaway. Please follow the prescription as advised, Nux V 200 and then Sulfur 200.

There is definitely an improvement in the digestion. But the sleep quality has gone down. I have sleep with dreams and wake up in the night. It is difficult to get sleep after that. Next There is a lot of dandruff. In fact it has gone up. There were dry eruptions in the arm. They subsided later. Areas where dryness has been chronic have not seen any change. If I sleep in the noon, I wake up with pain in the calf.

How many days it has been since you took sulphur?

Yesterday, I slept in the afternoon. I could not get sleep in the night. I started solving some mathematical stuff. After I felt drowsy, and lied down, the problem kept repeating in my mind. My stomach again bloats after food or water. No new eruptions on skin. Should I take medicine??

arvindprasad 8 years ago
Please take a single dose of Nux Vomica 200 at bed time and report back in 3 days.

Best regards,
Mani

mani_jee 8 years ago
It took NuxVomica 200 six days ago. It is only after the five days I have found that I am able to sleep early. But I feel drowsy in the morning. Next the stomach is bloated, with little water. I always feel that the food digests slowly. After food I feel liquid rising up, though, it never teaches the throat. Now too I am feeling after lunch that I should sleep, food is digesting slowly and the stomach has bloated up after eating.

My mom now forgets things, and this is frequent cause of fights.

Please get hold of the following:

1. Lachesis 200
2. Nat Phos 6x

Taken Lachesis 200, one dose only.

Take 4 tablets of Nat Phos 6x - twice daily (you may consider it once daily, when you feel bloating is less).

Dear Dr. Rahiq:

Thanks for your input. I really appreciate that.

As for as my prescription of Lachesis is concerned, it is based on the patients concern which is

1. "I seem to have lost sexual interest in her. ", so its lost sexual interest (repressed sexual desire)
2. "Unable to sleep well, stomach is bloated with simplest plain food, burping, feels like throat constricted"
3. "I have difficulty in getting sleep and wake up drowsy"

"The way in which the Lachesis patient takes his food is sometimes of help - he simply gulps it down. As a rule, after one of these rushed meals, the patient feels horribly bloated and is liable to have violent attacks of belching." Borland

Now, if we compare Aurum with stomach symptoms,
"-The next thing is that most of these Aurum patients have a good appetite, very often an inordinate appetite, but it is not so much gastric symptoms which are relieved by eating or aggravated by hunger as the patient's general feeling. He feels very much better in himself after a meal, and he is very much worse if he is hungry - more depressed, more miserable, more disheartened." Borland

When it comes to deeper layer and Performance, yes it should be a remedy from Metal group and if you go to the deeper level, Argentum Met fits to his childhood, where he was forced to do engg against his will by his parents (Kindly refer Sankaran - The Soul of Remedies).

When it comes to Aurum, there is extreme lack of confidence, Aurum alternates between "I am highly moral" and "I am highly immoral and have sinned away the day of grace".

Hope it clarifies my prescription of Lachesis. Any comments are more than welcome.

Regards,
Nauman

It has been more than a week that I had taken lachesis and nat phos. The positive is that there is no rising of food after meals. I can now drink water and this is an achievement. Sleep is still a problem. The stomach in now bloated in such a way that I feel like removing any clothing around my waist. I am not saliavating on pillow. Urine is not better regulated. I guess we are near to the cure. Things that need to be attended, irritation in scalp, bloating, sleep. I guess due to lack of sleep I am gaining weight. I eat the same infact I do not overeat now as I used to earlier. I do yoga for an hour or more.

Ok thats great. I believe you are improving. Continue with nat phos for 1 more week and then update.
