ACUTE - 1 yr old fell down flight of stairs

Hello there. In a freak accident, my 1 yr old fell down a full flight of stairs to the basement tonight end for end. I gave her arnica 200c and rescue remedy right away. No blood, a couple goose eggs on her head, she calmed down right away (more then I can say for her dad and I!) and went about playing with her brother and walking within about 5 minutes. I spoke to telehealth and answered some questions, they said to monitor her for at least 24 hrs.

Just wondering if the 1 dose of arnica is sufficient....

thank you

Hi Wendypape,

My daughter fell of the bed a few weeks ago. She's 1 years old also. I gave her Arnica also. I did not have 200c on hand but I did have Arnica 6c and also a trauma combo made by Boiron which had Arnica, Ledum P. and (one other remedy that I can't call at this moment - I will email you back once I remember). But, I was advised that I should wait a few days and see if there were any after effects of the fall and to give her 1 to 2 doses of Nat S.(30c) if she seemed cranky, had a headache or any vision impairements.

Just something to consider. My little one is fine and back to normal after her fall and I did follow up with 2 doses of Nat S. because she was cranky and seemed to rub her head a little, 2 days afterwards. Good luck.

Regards,
Erika

Are the eggs completely gone?

the swelling has gone down but still slightly raised and red, like 2 small red marks the size of a dime/nickel - 1 in the middle of her forehead, the other on the right temple. I gave her another dose of arnica 200c 1 hr after it happened.

The bump in the middle is exactly where there is a small scar that bled like crazy when she was 3.5 months old. (a metal toy car hit her in the head like a missile)

As long as it keeps on improving, no necessity to repeat the medicine. Repeatition in 200 potency, not more than twice a week should be necessary.

The third remedy in that Arnica trauma was Bellis P. - just FYI. Thanks.

Ledum Pal is for punctured wounds. Bellis is for sprains and bruises. You give Symphytom 6C, thrice daily if he complains of bone pain and place a thick cloth over the injured area, soaked in a mixture of 20 drops of Symphytom Q(mother tincture) in 1 cup of boiled and cooled water.
