Dullness

My daughter is 20 years old now and in 2nd year College.Till about Class 6/7 she was very good in her studies and was also very vibrant with bright eyes. But after that ( probably coinciding with her puberty )she gradually became very lazy and rather dull. The spark and brightness in her eyes have gone and it has become very dull. She also tend to Avoid responsibilities and a little clumsy in her actions and behaviour. Otherwise she is a perfectly healthy child. Can you suggest some remedies to overcome this ?

Describe her family health history of the last two generations.

Grandfather: Generally healthy. Suffered from weak nerve. Very startled with cracker sound and very much afraid of lightning sound. Died at 80.
Grandmother : Suffered from Asthma. Frail. Died at 76.
Paternal Grandfather: Very healthy. But died of sudden stroke at 65.
Maternal Grandfather: Very Healthy but died of stroke at the age of 65.
Maternal Grandmother: Very healthy and active even at 79.
Father( Myself ): Generally healthy but diagnosed with GAD & panic disorder 4 years back.Taking escilitopram 10mg regularly.Diastolic pressure tend to remain high.
Mother: Generally healthy. Suffered a lot, including hot flashes for last 3 years during menopausal transition. Has become anxiety prone and irritable. Medium Hypertension present.

Describe her peculiarities in her personality at present?

Nothing significant except she is lazy, not at all organised, does not want to go deep in to anything and lacks confidence.Has a habbit of putting of light and sit alone often engrossed in her smartphone. But she is not an introvert and quite jolly.

Is she suffering from any physical illness?

No

Do you have any history of murder, suicide, alcoholism, syphilis or gonorrhea in the last few generations?

Not to my knowledge.

Is she talkative or close-mouthed these days?

Normal.

Is she worse during the day or night?

Have not noticed any significant difference. But remains rather lethargic for quite some time after waking up in the morning.

Describe her looks, especially her head size wrt her body and arrangement of teeth.

No abnormality in looks except ocassional blank and dull eyes.

Are her school grades falling all of a sudden?

Grades have fallen after Class 8. But she is still an above average student. She is now in 2nd year College studying English. She used to love English a lot earlier. But lately I feel that she is not enjoying her studies although she denies.

Have her food cravings changed in the last few months?

Nothing significant. She has good appetite.

Have you noticed any abnormality in her habits concerning her hygiene, washing hands etc.

In my eyes, she tends to be a little bit fussy, particularly about Bathroom cleanliness but skips bathing herself often.

One more thing I forgot to metion. From about Class 7 or 8 she developed a habbit of smelling pain balms, shoe polish, nail polish etc. It seems she is not doing it any more after continuous counselling but cannot rule out occasional sniffs.

Please give her one dose of SULPHUR 1M on a single day.

One dose would be 3 to 4 drops of remedy in some 10 ml of water sipped up in empty stomach first thing in the morning.

Let me know after a week if she responded to the dose.

rishimba 9 years ago
Thanks a lot. Will do the needful and report.

lajaka 9 years ago
She has taken the medicine last Sunday.Mistakenly though the quantity of water may have been a little higher. Is it necessary to repeat the dose or shall I wait for a week and report ?

lajaka 9 years ago
Please wait for a week and report all changes you have noticed in her.

If SULPHUR creates a response in her, you will definitely notice a change in her attitude and day-to-day activities.

rishimba 9 years ago
She took the dose on 11/1. The changes noticed are as following :
1.Marginally more energetic.
2. Marginally more attentive in her studies.

Even this seems to be waning a little bit in the last 2-3 days.

lajaka 9 years ago
It seems Sulphur is not the right remedy. We have to take her full case.

1> I suffer from frequent neck aches. Its worse at night which probably interferes with my sleep sometimes, although most of the time I am not aware of it.
2> I have a tendency of getting my stomach upset if I have outside food.
3> I overthink situations..I definitely don’t have a strong nerve.
4> I feel I have to have all situations perfectly in my control.Hence in order to make things perfect(whatever I am doing ) I overthink ,which ultimately accomplishes nothing.
5> I think a lot and I make myself sick with it.It might even be a good thing I’m thinking about but whatever it is,once I start thinking about something I cant seem to stop thinking about it.Hence sometimes I’m extremely happy or sometimes I get extremely sad.
6> In the afternoon
7> I feel good in cool weather and at the time of a shift from summer to winter and vice versa. I love to eat.
8> I have absolutely no problem before, after or during my menses.I sometimes cant sleep or maybe get very light sleep which probably makes me tired in the morning.I mean sometimes when I wake up in the morning, I am not even sure if I have slept. I have no problem or anxiety about my life, still this happens sometimes, probably because I think a lot or have weak nerves). But it has got nothing to do with my menses. It happens sometimes irrespective of whether I’m menstruating or not.
9> I feel good during mildly humid weather in summer. In winter, Its nice too.I don’t like monsoons, although a sudden brief shower seems good. But overall, the weather doesn’t matter so much. If I’m fit, I don’t care about the weather..unless obviously its an extreme weather.
10> I AM NOT AT ALL LAZY…I’m being very honest.I’m optimistic most of the time .I can mix freely with all kinds of people..I am not moody or get offended or take things personally.I don’t get angry much. I’m the kind of person who would like to do everything perfectly…be with friends, study, work extra hours if I have to,then get up again early next morning.U know have fun, make friends, go on long drives etc.But one thing stands in the way of my doing these.I make myself sick, thinking, because of which I think my sleep is either too light or the sleep patterns are disturbed.By this I do not mean that I have anxiety about anything.I have absolutely no problem in my life worth mentioning.,friends tell me I am an out-and-out extrovert, but because of these reasons I have become a bit of an introvert lately.
Thunderstorms are nice only..If its after a long spell of hot weather, I feel happy.
Yeah I do very much like to be consoled in my tough times..I’ve got a few very good friends thankfully, since you cant always tell everything to your parents.
I have an inclination for cherry blossom shoe polish smell.i like the smell of paint.
I do sometimes weep, but that’s obviously not causeless. However I cry very easily and some people might find the cause of my “weeping” to be stupid.
I have 6-7 very good friends.I love them.I have no trouble with my parents too, except maybe occasional minor rifts.
I feel good listening to music. I sort of start imagining good things..But again that’s me “overthinking”.
The thing that upsets me about myself is that I’m not being able to deliver as per my potential, in any field.I’m not particularly concerned about others. Its okay.some people are good, some are not so nice. But then its okay.i have a good family and very good friends.
11) My biggest fear is that myself or someone I love would get some incurable disease and die.I’v had this fear since childhood(class 8 or so)…well,I am too occupied to think about my inner fears everyday, but I think somewhere it stays within me unconsciously.sort of a hidden anxiety which surfaces when I get a bad news maybe.
12)I love chocolates and chocolate cakes..i don’t have aversion to any kind of food.I mean obviously I wont be eating cockroaches ,but I don’t have aversion to any normal food.i like to eat everything
13) Normal…
14)umm normal..but less when I’m stressed, excessive when the food is very good.
15) nope,..i’m not allergic to anything.
16) I don’t sweat much..But then its not that I sweat very less also. Its kinda normal.I feel hot on my neck, although I sweat more on my upper lips.Another thing I’d like you to know is that my body temperature remains extremely high, almost to the point when another person might find me feverish. It might happen sometimes because my bowels haven’t been emptied properly.
17) I have slight amoebiosis. My stomach doesn’t get cleared properly.Off late, I’v developed black spots on my tongue.
18)no particular posture of sleeping..On some days I sleep extremely well,so much so that when I wake up in the morning, I feel like a different person and feel like I can take on the world. I feel extremely confident on those days and work better than most people. However this has a reverse effect on me sometimes..I’m so energetic even at night that I don’t feel like falling asleep and I start thinking about everything I’d wanna do, when I’m lying on my bed..It, as if, sends an unconscious signal to my brain that I do not need to sleep.Hence it sometimes happens that I just shut my eyes and lie awake the entire night without even being aware of it( sometimes even solving numericals in my head which probably keeps me awake )
The result is that I wake up the next morning feeling kind of tired. If I did not feel tired,I wouldn’t even have known that I haven’t slept the night before.I don’t know why this happens.
19 ) well I don’t have a boyfriend, and so its very obvious I do not get regular action.i’m a virgin.but I’m a goodlooking girl and have a healthy self esteem,so I’m not really desperate or sad about it. Yes I do have desires, but I don’t care much really.its a minor thing.
20)I don’t think I have a strange symptom or anything like that.I think I have higher potential than most others and have an interest in everything. But because I’m kinda unfit,I’m not being able to reach my full potential..That makes me really really sad.
21) I haven’t ever had any serious disease.I have not taken any kind of medicines other than for treating common flu or stomach problems or when I’v had fever.
22) Asthma.. and weak nerves.
23) I’m 5’5” tall..I have big eyes, a sharp nose and full thick lips.I have got a very curvaceous figure.Long neck.Thick,black hair.softly arched eyebrows.I’m kinda pretty.
24) Just asthma when I was a child about 5-6 years.nothing else.

25) My menstrual cycles are perfectly normal.I sometimes experience mild pain in my lower belly on the first or second day.But most of the time even that doesn’t happen.I have never taken birth control pills. My moods are never affected by my periods per se.

Your remedy is CALCAREA CARBONICA 200C three doses, each dose 12 hours apart.

After about 10 days, please come back here and share your notes.

One dose would be 3 drops of remedy in about 10 ml of water sipped up in empty stomach and clean mouth. No food or water one hour before or after.

rishimba 9 years ago
I did not find any major changes in my state of well being after taking calcarea carbonica.its just that maybe after taking the dose i became a bit high strung.i wasnt able to sleep for a few days.then again it returned to normal. But i could't find any other changes.I have no real anxiety, but it seems like i have willed myself into a state of not getting a good night's sleep.i cant understand why this is happening.i have nothing to be anxious about

lajaka 9 years ago
Your night's sleep is probably due to your stomach issues. I don't find any other symptom which would attract any remedy.

To overcome your long standing issues, try taking NUX VOMICA 30C one dose a day in the evening in empty stomach for some days.

Once you see your bowels getting cleared regularly, your sleep patterns will finally better.

The observations are as following :

1. Reduced lethargy while waking up in the morning.
2. Better alertness
3. Brighter eyes

However, all the above signs are waning a little bit in the last 3-4 days.

lajaka 9 years ago
1. Definite reduction in lethargy in the morning while waking up.
2. Some improvement in alertness.
3. Marginally brighter eyes

It is waning a little bit though over time

I understand you are reporting your changes after taking a dose of CALC CARB..??

If these changes are seen after CALC CARB, it means there has been a response. In that case, a sustained dose need to be found out at infrequent interval.

Please confirm.

rishimba 9 years ago
Hello ..i'm sorry for the inconvenience caused. The first reply posted was mine. The second posted was by my father based on what changes he observed in me after the advised dose of calcarea carbonica.

lajaka 9 years ago
Please start a sustained dose, once a week.

Take one dose of CALC CARB 200C once a week for some weeks.

Take it as long as you see improvement. Once you enter a plateau, go to the next higher potency, 1M once in 15 days.

I hope, in about 2 months, you will get fully cured.
