silent reflux 8 weeks old

Hi please help. my 8 week old little girl has been in pain since 2weeks old. we have been back and forth to the GP as I knew something wasn't right with my baby. she is constantly bringing up her legs in pain, spitting up, gurgling at night on fluid brought up by her acid reflux sticking her tongue out especially after her bottle (its like she is trying to get something out of her mouth). she arches her back and rolls to her left side. she passes wind and screams in pain. she cries all day in pain. she has always been good at bringing up her wind at every feeding. my little girl is currently on ratindine prescribed by the gp but id like to stop giving her this. I started on Friday giving her one tablet of pas vosx6 after every feed on day one. By day 2 I went to half a tablet and by the 3rd a quarter. by the 3rd day she was uncomfortable again so I have increased the dose to one who tablet again. dissolved In 5ml water and given after every feed. I also started given my little girl two nux vomica 30c 2 pills crushed in 2.5ml of water. although there seems to have been some improvement my little girl is still uncomfortable and waking herself up every 30minues in pain. Im bottle feeding her formula milk of 50z every 5 hours. my baby weighs 10.8. please help me help my little girl.

1. Weight 10.4lbs / height - I'll need to get back to you on this

2. Physical appearance: Thin, Medium, Chubby - medium

3. How is the child mentally & emotionally normally - upset uncomfortable and cries due to constantly being in pain

4. How is the child mentally & emotionally during reflux/gerd - Angry, uncomfortable, restless, wants to be carried. Pulls up her legs and strains.

5. What are the symptoms of reflux/gerd - I can hear her swallowing back after burping. She wants to be held and arches her back if she is put in crib, swing chair and on the floor. Sticks her tongue out and strains to bring something out of her mouth. Pulls up her legs and cries. Has alot of wind. Hiccups. Brings up a clear fluid. Is sick during winding.

Your remedy is: Colocynthis 30c.

HOW TO TAKE THE REMEDY:
Please take two doses 12 hrs apart. Just two doses. Not daily.
Report back in 2 days with changes observed.

WHAT IS A DOSE FOR CHILDREN:
One dose is made by dissolving one pill of the remedy (or one drop, if you have liquid remedy) in half a glass of cooled, boiled water. Stir it and take one tea spoon from it.

TIME OF DOSE:
First dose: At night before sleeping.
Second dose: 12 hrs after the first dose.
Don’t take any more dose or any other remedy unless I tell you.

PRECAUTIONS:
If there is worsening of symptoms (called homeopathic aggravation) after the first dose, then don’t take the second dose.
Don’t take any other homeopathic remedy during this treatment.
Give a break of at least 10 minutes before eating/drinking anything before or after taking the remedy.
During the treatment, don’t eat anything which you have never had all your life.

HOMEOPATHIC AGGRAVATION
Sometimes the symptoms for which treatment is being done can worsen after taking the homeopathic remedy. This is homeopathic aggravation and a good sign. It usually dies down within 24-48 hrs. During this time you can use any non-medicinal means to keep yourself comfortable. If the aggravation seems excessive, you can use any & all means necessary (including taking allopathic medicines) to keep yourself comfortable. Keep your homeopath fully updated if this happens.

HOW TO GIVE FEEDBACK:
A good example of how to report your progress is by giving %age improvement for all your health problems e.g.
Headache: 30% better
Low energy level: 50% better
Anxiety: 40% better
Sadness: No change
Depression: Worse
And so on list all your complaints.

MOTHER’S DIET
If your child is breastfed then what you eat will have a huge effect on your baby’s health. If you eat foods which cause gas (e.g. cabbage, beans, cauliflower etc) then your baby will have gas too. Cut back on the foods which cause gas in you or your husband (because your baby may have acquired the genetic tendency of your husband to have gas & bloatedness). Eating a few fennel seeds will address infrequent gas & bloatedness, eating it in excess will cause constipation.

THE NAT-PHOS MISINFORMATION
Homeopathy works on “individualization” i.e. the remedy for GERD which will work on one child may not work on another. There are several remedies for GERD. A particular person is promoting Nat-Phos as THE remedy for curing GERD by selectively quoting parents benefiting from his Nat-Phos protocol. This is not only incorrect but totally against the principles of “individualization” in homeopathy. I am sure desperate parents would do anything to get the cure but blindly going for Nat-Phos is not the route as many have found the hard way. It’s a case of common sense & statistics. If you give Nat-Phos to 100 kids for GERD, some are bound to improve, it doesn’t mean that it’s THE remedy for GERD. Next time someone touts Nat-Phos as the remedy for GERD ask him the statistics first.

GENERAL INFO ABOUT HOMEOPATHIC PRESCRIBING:
If someone is giving several remedies, without waiting to see the effect of one remedy, then it is totally against the core principles of homeopathy. Such an approach is unlikely to give permanent cure, rather it may distort actual symptoms making subsequent cure even more difficult.

Hi i issued the first dose of tablet on Thursday night and the 2nd dose on Friday morning. 12 hours apart. I didn't notice any improvement my little girl was still having times when she would be sick/ bringing up acid, hour after her feed. She was still pulling up her legs and crying while passing wind. However she wasn't crying all day but Friday night during sleep time she was uncomfortable & crying in pain. She was extremely fidgety. (At nights although she moans from being uncomfortable she doesn't cry but last night she cried) i picked her up and she burped loudly followed by an acid watery sound. This was hours after her bottle. I forgot to mention she is still Hiccuping (I'm not sure if this is important).

Sorry i meant she still has times when Hiccuping after her bottle.

twinnyk 9 years ago
Please give details of hiccoughing. Is it all the time or any specific time. What makes it better or worse.

In the meanwhile give two more doses, 12 hrs apart.

fitness 9 years ago
She normally hiccups after her bottle when winding her. She coughs when lying down as liquid comes up and makes her start coughing.

twinnyk 9 years ago
She can get Hiccups from once to three times a day. Its usually after her feed when winding her but she does sometimes get them hours after feeding if she is uncomfortable and pulling up her legs and straining. If she sucks her dummy or has her bottle this can sometimes stop them otherwise it eventually stops on its own. Can i give the tablet now or should I wait until her bedtime.

You can give it now- just do the second
dose 12 hours later.

simone717 9 years ago
You can give now, give the 2nd one after 12 hrs approx.

The Nux-V that you have been giving has messed up the true symptoms making it difficult to figure out the correct remedy. Anyways.

Please obtain Chamomila 30c and give two doses, 12 hrs apart.

Hi i was recommended nux vomica by a family friend who had spoken to a homeopath after i had seen suggestions online. I'm sure you can imagine how confusing and upsetting it has been seeing my baby in pain. I've never thought about alternative medicine before but following your advice I'm happy to do so. I've given one dose of the colocynth 30c should i still give the second dose tomorrow morning before I purchase the chamomila 30c . should I follow exactly the same instructions on how to give this as the colocynth and stop given this after the second dose. Thank you for your help.

twinnyk 9 years ago
If you can get Cham., then no need of Coloc.

I gave the option as many people don't have access to remedies readily.

Dosing instructions for all remedies are exactly as I told for Coloc.

There should be at least 12 hrs gap between any remedy.
