carbo veg and doasge
My 74 year old father is not doing well. His breathing is rapid at sleep, he has mucous (no cold) and a cough. He is very weak and listless. I heard carbo veg is good for this. Could somebody please let me know the dosage and do we do this continuously?RagnaS on 2014-08-24

He is also losing weight rapidly. What dosage carbo veg should we give him and how often and for how long?

You must be very cautious here. Too high a potency, or too aggressive dosing, might actually harm or even kill him.
When treating someone so sick and low in vitality, and if he is so sick his life is nearing an end, then you must only treat with very low potencies. I would not go above 6c. In such cases you could dose every 2-3 hours. However it is important to follow the normal rules for prescribing - STOP dosing if he worsens in any way, if he develops new symptoms, or if he very markedly improves. If he improves but then begins to relapse, you can restart dosing again.
What is his medical diagnosis?
