Lingering Croup in 5 year old

My 5 year old girls has had a lingering barking cough for the past 2 1/2 weeks. She started with a fever for two days that turned into a stomach bug and then a cough appeared a few days later. I have tried Spongia Tosta and Hepar Sulph to no avail. How long should it take to see results from the homeopathic medicine if I'm using the correct treatment? She was coughing at night, but now only coughs in the morning and a little bit during the day if she's running around and in the evening. I have also been using nasal saline spray. She has become very combative and telling me no. She's usually a pleaser and wants to help. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Are you still giving those remedies?

If so please discontinue them. I do
not
know if you are aware that once a remedy starts any improvement you stop and
Wait. You do not give more unless symptoms return as they were or the
person reaches a plateau.

If you give more you bring back things and you can have new things show up
bc you are overdosing.

If this is the case, then stop remedies, wait a couple days and see what happens.

If this is not the case, or if you wait and child is not gradually getting better-
then come back on and describe the cough in detail. Describe mucous if any.
List what helps and list what makes it worse.

Okay, I have stopped as of yesterday. I was giving it for about 3-4 days. I didn't realize I could cause the symptoms to get worse due to overdosing. Could this have caused her harm, or does it subside after a couple of days?

Hi- no, it won't harm her and it will
wear off. When sick you can try one
remedy at a time. Take a 30c and dissolve 3 pills into a 1/4 cup of water.
Try up to 3 doses. If after any dose
it gets worse. Wait and see if then it gets
better. Do not redose until things get
worse again-

If things get better, again wait and then
dose again when things get worse or
stall out.

After dose one if nothing happens
wait a couple hours and try again,
after 3 tries if nothing happens-
you pick another remedy.

When a person first starts to come down with something, you can use
Ferrum Phos 6x cell salt-2 tabs for
kids under the tongue. Ferrum Phos
if given early on can get rid of things
before they get going. Once they get
going you have to use something else
that matches.

It has been 3 days and she is still coughing. It sounds feathery and then when she coughs hard it sounds like a bark. It's mostly in morning and evening and when she gets up from laying down. She sneezed up white mucus yesterday, but sneezing is not one of her symptoms.

Try the Hepar Sulph 30c again.

Take 3 pills dissolve in a water bottle
with about a 1/2 cup of water in it.
Hit the bottle 6x against your hand.
Keep the bottle in the fridge.( Waiting on this should be evening or morning to gauge response)
Take one dose and wait for a response. If improvement is seen, continue to wait and let the remedy work. If improvement lags significantly or has clearly stopped, another dose may be taken. The frequency of dosage varies with the condition and the individual. Sometimes a dose may be required several times an hour; other times a dose may be indicated several times a day; and in some situations, one dose per day (or less) can be sufficient.

If no response is seen within a reasonable amount of time, select a different remedy.
