The ABC Homeopathy Forum

7 week-old with AR

Hi, our seven week-old daughter has been suffering from moderate AR since she was born.Exclusively breastfed, she also suffers from gas which makes her cry when she passes it. Condition gets worse late at night, early in the morning. Elevating crib matress did not seem to help.Feels best when worn in a wrap and hugged upright and when she sleeps with us.Calmed down by breastfeeding, she feeds often and for a long time, after which she throws up some and, falls asleep to wake up screaming.Currently on Colic Calm drops which seem to alleviate her gas but not the reflux, which is not as abundant as it was 2 weeks ago, but still seems to be causing her a lot of pain and discomfort when it reaches her throat.A restless sleeper, she refuses to sleep in her crib, which is right next to me and, during the day she only sleeps when held or worn.

Thank you for your advice.

Hello,

Please get hold of following medicine in Bi0-Med. form.

1) Nat. Phos 6x.

>> Take two tabs from the bottle mix and stir it with half cup water. Give your baby one table spoon early morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, and before going to bed. If any medicine is left in the cup discard it. Keep the cup covered with lid after each use, Repeat this for three days.

Hope this will cure the AR problem of the baby.

Please do update.

Blessings & Prayers,
Nikkie.

Hi Nikkie,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I just noticed that I have made a mistake - she's seven WEEKS and not seven months old. Shall I stick to the dose recommended by you? Also, I already have Nat Phos x6 in pellets. Is it the same as tabs? If not, how much should I give her? Will this interfere with the Colic Calm drops?

Thanks!

Dear Lauraviv,

Sorry ! it is pellets, you are right. No it wont interfere with Colic Calm drops, but dont give it one after the other. May be in future you may not require to give her Colic Cam, but infants do like the taste, so no harm in giving.

And important, dont over feed the baby, if possible keep soft pillow below her head whil she is sleeping. Also dont layher flat on bed immediately after Feeding. Take her in arms and move around for a while.

Blessings,
Nikkie.
