Abdominal Gas and Morning Depression

Hello, For the past month or so I have been suffering from abdominal gas issues.

The gas sometimes occurs 2-3 hours after meals and it feels like rising towards my heart. I take fennel seeds or walk a bit to make myself feel better.

Another symptom is that I get depression. E.g. if i lay down immediately after eating I would wake up an hour after feeling depressed and feel like crying even sometimes.

My depression is worst in mornings and I have a feeling its related to my gas issue. Early in the morning I feel very depressed. I try to keep myself busy which sometimes help.

Just to give a history, I have been having some abdominal issues for the past 2 months. I was fine before. I went to a Gastroenterologist who suggested that I had post-gastroenteritis as I ad some vomitting spells earlier. So he suggested I take Omeprazole Levopraid, and Librax for my depression which is related to my abdomen. I took the medicines and was better for sometime.

I lost around 6-7 Kgs during the past 2 months.

My height is 5'8' and my weight now is 70 Kgs.

Can someone please advice me on how to get rid of my morning depression and gas issues please. God bless you all.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Have you changed your diet in anyway or are under mental stress lately.

Yes I think mental stress is the issue. I have also changed my diet as I have stopped taking all junk foods etc.

You have to learn to handle stress by meditation or yoga etc.

Follow these guidelines for 2 weeks and report back:

DIETARY & EXERCISE GUIDELINES:
Use common sense in following these guidelines, if you are unsure then ask me. Homeopathy is not magic and it can only work when all other supportive strategies are also used. To make sure you are cured as fast as possible and stay that way please change your lifestyle to include the following:

1. Start eating half cup of low fat, plain, non-flavored yogurt with live cultures daily in the morning or with lunch. If you have homemade yogurt that’s the best.
2. Stop all processed foods e.g. white bread, white rice, white burgers etc.
3. Eat whole foods only i.e. whole grain bread, brown rice, brown burgers etc.
4. The bread should be high in bran content & the flour should be coarse ground.
5. Start eating a small bowl of salad at least once a day e.g. it should contain cucumber, carrots, salad leaves, tomato and any vegetable you like. Put a dressing of olive oil & raw apple cider vinegar and put some salt & black pepper to your liking.
6. Eat at least 1-2 fruits per day e.g. apple, orange etc.
7. Drink enough water so that your urine is clear. Yellow colored urine is a good indication that you are dehydrated.
8. Eat only when hungry and when eating, don’t overstuff yourself.
9. Focus on food only when you eat i.e. don’t divert your attention by watching tv etc.
10. Exercise:
• Aerobic activity e.g. Start walking at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week with your spouse/friend and achieve your target heart rate.
• Strength training e.g. Start weight training at least 20 minutes 3 days a week.

NOTE: Yogurt can cause increased mucus generation in some individuals, if you are like that, don’t eat yogurt. Rather start eating roasted black chick peas (also known as Bengal Gram) daily.
