Teething

Hi

I have a 3 month old baby who has always been a fussy and difficult feeder. The problem has become worse since displaying signs of teething - drooling, loss of appetite.

Could you please advise me of a remedy that covers teething and loss of appetite.

Thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give Merc sol 6or30C(low better), 1/2 pillule, 3 times daily. Keep informed of progress often. Crush it so that it does not choke the baby.

Thanks for the reply. Before posting my question, I read past replies and for lack of appetite in babies lycopodium
has been recommended. Would this be suitable at all as I am very concerned about the decrease in milk consumption.

Merc Sol will take care of both infant refusing milk and the teething problem. I assure you. Lycopodium is not correct for this situation.

Thank you again for your reply. I will purchase the remedy tomorrow. Is it widely available e.g. Boots.

I will keep you posted.

In USA it is available in stores like Whole Food, vitamin&herbs section of big stores, the store on the web-site of this forum. There is one store in Madison(WI). They keep almost all medicines in all potencies. Where do you live? If you are in some small place, I can send by post from my stock. I am in California.

I live in the UK, Wales. If it is still possible for you to post the remedy I will e-mail you my address. Sorry about the delayed response. It is now early hours of the morning.

Thanks again.

I thought you were in USA. In Uk homeopathic medicines are available without any fuss.

It is now the second day of giving Merc sol 6. As of yet there is no change. Prior to giving this I was giving Ashton and Parsons Infant Powders which contains . Chamomilla. This did little to reduce the pain whilst feeding, however, helped baby to sleep better.

Since giving Merc sol I have discontinued giving infant powder, but have noticed nap times are more difficult. Can I give the two together? Other things which have occurred in the last two days - rash around mouth due to excessive drooling and very tender, sore gums though no sign of teeth.

Will continue to keep you posted.

Merc Sol is the correct remedy for inflammation of gums and salivation. It takes a little time for teeth cutting. Please give it 2 hourly, by dissolving 2 pillules in 2 ounces of distilled water/boiled(to drive out chlorine)drinking water and shaking the mixture vigorouly abut 10 times. Use 1/8 tea spoon as a dose. Before giving each dose, shake the remaining mixture as before. As improvement starts, reduce the frequency of dose gradually.

I was going to give Chamomilla when some or all the following symptoms would have come up susequent to the present condition:-

Fever, restlessness, diarrhoea, baby wants to be carried all the time, very uneasy at night, moaning, groaning, mouth dry, respiratory problems etc.

As of now, besides gum/salivation, the only extra symptom is very uneasy at night/sleep problem. All the same, Chamomilla should be given. You first give in the evening and if necessary in the night. Stop Merc Sol during that period.

Now that I have given the properties of both medicines, you can handle the situation. However ,if some other symptoms come up, please ask me atonce.

The rash around the mouth(unless it becomes crack/ulcer) should go off once the gum problem is resolved.

Report frequetly. Let baby not suffer due to our inaction.
