My prostatitis started as urinating about every 20 to 30 minutes....tests in the beginning came back negative. Then a urinalysis came back with blood, nitrates, protein and white blood cells in urine, at this time I was put on FLoxin 300mg 2 x day for 6 weeks after three weeks of cipro did not work. After the Floxin course frequent urination continued and the pelvic pain became worse. The doctors here in the us said all is normal after several months gone by, (with Symptoms persisiting)blood appeared in urine, p[rescribed Levaquin for two weeks. Then I went to see a specialist he found Strep B in the culture at 10,000. He prescribed Penicillin for two weeks, then I had an allergic reaction. Then he continued several weeks with E-Mycin, then cipro and doxycylcine, then Noraxin and a couple of others for almost 9 months startight. Then yeast appeared in culture, prescriped Diflucan 1 week....since then all tests, cultures are normal except sometime few white blood cells present. However, I dribble after peeing (underwear is always wet after urination), someitme lower abdominal pain and rectal pain, alwasy have left side pelvic pain and groin pain. Someitmes pain goes up my back...kidney x-rays and ultrasounds, blood work all normal.

I believe that you have some infection in your prostate which is not being addressed by the Ciprofloxacine and other drugs that you have taken so far.

The blood supply to the Prostate gland is not very good and as a result it is possible that the bacteria has not reacted as they normally would do to the drugs you have used so far.

A method that can be used to promote the blood supply to the prostate is by direct massage of the prostate which I believe was done to you already by the Uro to get the sample of Prostatic fluid for analysis. This massage can be done by a doctor or by anyone who is prepared to do so. It can also be done by you yourself but this may require some patience and practice.

The method used is to massage the prostate with a gloved finger with K Y Jelly, inserted through the anus once a day while taking Ciprofloxacine or Noroxin twice daily. The massage will promote the circulation of blood to the prostate and hopefully the drug will reach the offending bacteria.

You are also advised to use Arnica 30c 3 times daily as this remedy will also promote the circulation of blood to the prostate.

Please visit a website called chronicprostatitis.com. It is difficult to treat prostatitis homeopathically or allopathically, try herbal therapy, magnetic therapy, acupuncture, color therapy, etc,etc......and please let us know of your progress

Sazim,

Thank you for the information. I am very familiar with chronic prostatitis website. How do you feel about Thuja 200 homepathic remedy? So, you personally feel Homepathic medicine and Conventional, western medicine are hard to treat prostatitis? I am thinking about CandiGone from Renewlife website for an herbal remedy in combination with Saw Palmetto and Pygeum. The support at the company said to take for three months, especially since I took so many antibiotics. My uro even suggested trying different herbal products, because he said, some actually work
I have consulted even with Dr. Shah from Lifeforce website and prescribed Thuja 200...which only alleviated pain, but made my stomach hurt badly.
After consulting LifeForce there suggestion was Homepathic medicine rather than herbal medicine....I am confused, which is more fast acting and effective, Herbal or Homepathic? Al your help is appreciated.

Dear Shawnime

I have been a chronic patient of Non Infectious Focal Prostatititis, and have used homeopathic medicine for last 10 years to no avail, recently I used a herbal medicine called "shilajit" in capsule form, made by a company called "Arya Vaidya Sala" in Kotakkal India. Use this medicine for 3 months atleast 2 capsules after every meal, you might be cured

Keep me posted of ur progress

Sazim,

I will try the Shilajit after every meal. Recently an indian friend who is a Dr in the US of Allopathic medicine even suggested I give it try and brought some bakc for me from India. However, I di not try becuase it smelled so badly. I appreciate your help and will let youknow how it makes me feel. Did the Shilajit cured your prostatitis? Where you taking any other herbals, homeopathis or Allopathic medicine at the same time?

My sincereste thank you on the information.

Your pain may not be caused by an infection. Often times non-bacterial prostatitis is caused by damage or stress to the pelvis. Since you cannot feel pain in your pelvis, the pain is often referred to the penis, testicles or lower back.

I highly recommend a book called 'A Headache in the Pelvis' by David Wise and Rodney Anderson. They run a clinic in California, USA that cures people with this condition. Be aware while reading the book that they describe the condition very specifically but they suggest you visit them for treatment. They avoid the use of drugs and apply therapy to your pelvis to heal the pelvic muscles.

There are certified pelvic therapist who can apply trigger point therapy to relieve your symptoms and heal your pain.

So here are my recommendations:
1. Along with your prostatitis searches, search for Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS). This will give you a lot more information.
2. Read 'A Headache in the Pelvis'
3. If you are able to clearly diagnose your condition, find a doctor to rule out any infection (or treat it only if you find one) and find a pelvic physical therapist who can begin working on your pelvic floor.

Good Luck my friend.
