Mitral Valve prolapse

Dear Dr, My daughter of aged 8 had a tonsillectomy around 2 months back in AIMS,Kochi,Kerala post surgery she got infections and admitted again for 3 days in hospital. During that admission she mentioned her heart is beating high and we called doctors, rate was around 150 and ECG took was normal. We left the hospital and on different times at least 6 times in last 2 months she mentioned the same and we could feel a high heart beat. This high beating may be for few mints and then it gets normal. So we took her to hospital here in Abu Dhabi, took ECG again, was normal, then did an echo cardiogram, and the doctor mentioned as mild value prolapse and nothing to be done now and asked to repeat the test every year. We are expecting your kind advice. Praveen

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Is there any particular position when your daughters heart beat is high?Is it after eating food? is it after exertion? please tell us more about it.

Yes, doctor. 1st time was during having food. another time which we noted as just after food. If you can give your email address, can send the echo report to you.
Thanks very much for your reply

I wonder if you are aware that you have repeated your daughter's case thrice in your post.

If you would like me to advice you I would like to have more details of the reason for her Tonsillectomy especially details of the 'post surgery she got infections and admitted again for 3 days in hospital'

I fear that your daughter has been infected by the Beta Haemoliticus Streptococcus Bacteria which may have caused the enlargement of her tonsils which lead to the Tonsillectomy.

If my diagnosis is correct the bacteria should have first been treated with Penicillin prior to the surgery. The infection that she suffered from in the hospital was due to the bacteria which in turn may be the cause of her MVP

The link below will give you more data to work on

I do hope that you will treat her problem under the advice of a specialist who will prescribe a long acting Penicillin which she will have to take for about 6 months to ensure that this bacteria is eliminated.

Dear Joe,
Thanks for the reply. She had recurrent tonsil infections and that is why we removed her tonsils. I am not clear “ prescribe a long acting Penicillin which she will have to take for about 6 months to ensure that this bacteria is eliminated” do you mean that infection is due bacteria and after eliminating that her issue could be resolved? Kindly suggest some good doctors whom I can meet.

Please note that Homeopathy and Medicine is only a Hobby to me and I am not a professional Homeopath or a Doctor.

Although I am NOT a qualified physician, I do have some experience dating back over the last 40 years both in Homeopathy and in Medicine which i use to treat all who consult me free of charge. I do restrict my therapy to Homeopathy and NOT Medicine.

In your daughter's case I believe that she was first infected by the Beta Haemoliticus Streptococcus bacteria which can result if a cough is left untreated with an antibiotic. Her Tonsils had enlarged and the surgeon had not treated this case as he should have by first treating the child with Penicillin to eradicate the bug which from the symptoms you described resulted in her being readmitted into hospital with fever, the cause of which strangely enough, does not seem to have been diagnosed by the doctors in Kochi. You are now in Abu Dhabi and I believe that the Beta Hemoliticus Streptococcus (BHS) Bacteria which I believe that she was infected with, has now affected her Heart causing the Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) the root cause of which has NOT been diagnosed by your doctors.

It is essential that you take my advice and consul a specialist in the best hospital in your city as she must be given the long acting Penicillin which she will have to take for many months into the future.

I live in Sri Lanka and regret that I cannot help you to select a suitable doctor. I do hope however that you will treat my advice seriously and act immediately as time is of essence for the future health of your daughter.

Treating the MVP alone will not be sufficient as the BHS bacteria must be eliminated from her body ASAP.

I do also have some experience in the treatment of MVP and you can visit the link below on my website
