Hello All

I am looking for a good homeopathy doctor in New Jersey for my 9 month old son who is suffering from severe eczema and severe food allergies

Here is the history......
DOB: Dec 24, 2004
Birth Weight: 4lbs and 15 ounces

COMPLICATIONS AT BIRTH

At the time of delivery, my wife’s blood pressure when up high. I believe the highest was 170/110. This lasted 24 hours only.

Throughout the pregnancy my wife was on pre-netal, Vitafol once a day

Also, because of initial complication, severe bleeding in the first few weeks, she had to take progestaron suppository.

After 36 hours of birth , my son’s billirubin(jaundice), went to about 21, they had to put him in intensive care and was put under light(phototherapy) for 3 days.

HISTORY OF RASH
There was no sign of any rash during the first month.
Along with breast milk, he was given bottle milk(Enfamil) 2 ounces at bed time during the first month.
He was given vaccination at 2.5 month.
The rash first began to appear on the eyebrow and forehead in month 2 . The rash was dry in nature.

So we switched to breast feeding only, thinking that the milk might be causing this.

ECZEMA STATUS

The rash is all over his body.
The rash is permanent on elbows, cheeks, knees and calves(is harder and thicker skin and bumpy). The appearance of these rashes are red, hard, feels like there is water inside. The doctor says this eczema is called Atopic dermatitis

Skull, has dry rash, not red, not hard, feels like dandruff in head. The doctor said, this is the other kind of eczema called the Seborrheic.

The eczyma comes and goes on his stomach and back, but its not permanent. Doctor says this coming and going of rash in a day is not eczema, but a rash caused because of fabric, bed, some food etc

OBSERVATIONS
During morning, his level of eczema looks better
During the day time, he gets worst. We believe, this is because of scratching.
Applying cold water seems to help him with redness.

We also did allergy test in month 5 and he was positive to all 21 food test they did(milk, wheat, egg, soya, all nuts, lamb, rice, banana, egg yolk, peas). The hightest which the allergies asked us to avoid at all cost are(egg products, milk products, soya products, all lentils and nuts)

Also in month 3 when his eczema had spread, we had stopped given the mother the following based on our own research: dairy products (milk, eggs etc), wheat, peanuts seafood, chickpeas for over a month and that did not seem to help

We also stopped given the mother all daals(lentils) in month 5 and that also did not seem to help

He is itchy mostly on eczema affected area. When he itches, blood comes out. At times he is also oozing. The ooze is sticky, glue like color. The oozing was problem in month 2 onwards, but now in month 6 is significantly less, don't know how and why.

In month 7 and 8, we tried 6 different kinds of foods. They were

Rice cereal, home made rice, green beans, sweet potatoes, zuccini and squash.

3 out of 6 he reacted severely. Just giving him 2 tea spoon on one day, he would vomit for the next 3 days continuously (squash, home made rice and sweet potatoes)

3 out of 6 he reacted. His eczema flared up and he turned red(green beans, rice cereal and zuccini.

Please help if anyone can.
If anyone knows a good homeopathy doctor in NJ or even NY, please advice

Arnica 30c can help EczemaFrom Joe De Livera [Log on to view profile] on 2005-09-21
I have used Arnica 30c successfully for Eczema in adults but not in babies.

I do not think that it can harm your baby in any way and if you would like to use it for a few days instead of the medication that you are now using, I can give you instructions on how to use it.

Please do let me know the instructions on the dosage for Arnica 30c

Also, any suggestions for the food allergies

Lastly, know any good homeopathy doctor in New Jersey?

Arnica for Baby's EczemaFrom Joe De Livera [Log on to view profile] on 2005-09-22
For your Baby I would suggest that we use Arnica 30c in the Split Dose made up as follows:

Get 2 500ml bottles of spring water. Check the label to verify that it is drawn from a deep bore well to ensure purity.
Pour out 100ml into a clean cup.
Put in 3 globules or 1 drop if you have the liquid remedy. Ensure that only a branded product is used like Boiron.
Hit the bottle hard on your palm or a cushion 6 times and watch for the water to fizzle like when you open a bottle of soda. You may also twist the bottle in your hand clockwise and anti clockwise but the need is to violently agitate the water
Take a teaspoonful of the potentized remedy and put it into half a cup of the same water.
Stir it gently and give your baby one teaspoonful twice daily.
Please note that the remedy will only be good for a few hours and must be freshly mixed for each dose after the bottle is succussed 6 times.

Please follow the above directions precisely and report response in 4 days when you should expect to observe some improvement.

I live in Sri Lanka and do not have any information of Homeopaths in the US. It is important to stop all other medication that you are now using for your baby.

Suggest that you use this remedy which is absolutely safe for your baby and report response. If after 5 days you do not see any improvement I shall give you further instructions to use the same remedy in a different manner.

You may also experiment with stopping certain foods and milk as these too can make a big difference.

Currently, my son is only on formula milk(hyper allergenic milk), no solids at all. Still he has eczema

At first we thought it was because of foods, but thats not the case

So the eczema is being causing by some other factors which we don't know

Is the Eczema worse in Summer or Winter.

Read my post on Phytolacca and give him few berries and let us know the effect. Mean while you can continue with Arnica.

Hello

I don't think it makes a difference as we haven't seen it become worst or better in a particular season, winter or summer, its just there.

By Phytolacca berries, is this a homeopathy medicine?
What should the potency be?

What I saw under purchase was
Phytolacca Decandra or do you mean those red berries on trees. If so what do I do once I pluck them?

Re: eczema/food allergy - homeopathy doctor in New Jersey USAFrom kuldeep [Log on to view profile] on 2005-09-24
If skin is dry espacially scalp and dandruff like eruptions, no matter summer or winter, most probably Phytolacca would resolve it.

Try Phytolacca Decandra-30. Also consider Arnica too.

Eczema is most difficult conditions to treat. Actually Petrolium and Graphites are two remedies which work but one knows after very long time. If Phytolacca, Arnica or Euphorbium would work, consider yourself blessed.

As the problem was almost certainly due to the vaccination look at Thuja and Sulfur .

Hello All

WE would a homeopaty doctor in CT and what he said was, since the eczema spread rapidly after the first vaccination(before it was just small red dots on cheeks)

He gave my son in liquid form about 1/3 tsp of Thuja

He said, that will reverse the effect of vaccination

Does anyone know if Thuja will work
What are the signs to know if this is working on him?

Re: eczema/food allergy - homeopathy doctor in New Jersey USAFrom sahai [Log on to view profile] on 2005-10-27
Thuja will not reverse the effect of vaccination. Purpose of vaccination to protect the system will not be compromised. Thuja will take care of ill effects of vaccination which in this case appears as aggravation of eczema.

If thuja does the job, nothing like it. But if it does not, and after a reasonable time(which you ask your doctor) the oozing of honey like sticky substance exists, nothing can beat Graphite as the remedy.

Re: eczema/food allergy - homeopathy doctor in New Jersey USAFrom fazal [Log on to view profile] on 2005-11-25
Its been one month since we gave him Thuja and one of the good effects we should have seen as per the doctor is that my son's appetite should have gone up significantly which it did not. So I guess Thuja did not work for him at all

Because of the skin condition we are putting cortisone, steriod based cream twice a day which we hate to do.

Is there a replacement cream instead of cortisone in homeopathy for this itch/rash/eczema

Thanks

If the sticky honey-like substance is still oozing, as I have advised in my posting dt.27th.Oct2005, please start Graphite 6C immediately and see the homeopathy miracle. Stop applying cream etc. and all other medication, as they will interfere and also it will not be clear which one is working/not working.

Put, in the ratio of one drop of liquid medicine in one ounce of distilled water, and shake it vigorously at least 10 times. 1/4 tea spoon of this mixture will be a dose for the baby.

To start-with, give 3 times daily but as the improvement sets in, reduce the frequency of medication, that is, make it two times a day, then as there is more improvement, make it once a day etc. Please report progress frequently.

Thank you for your reply

The oozing has stopped completely. There has been no oozing in several months now

The texture of the skin is still hard in some areas(elbow, knees). There is also small red patches, rash like on the cheeks and thats the only areas effected

When we don't apply any cortisone, it becomes very itchy. We are looking for an alternative to this in homopathy

Re: eczema/food allergy - homeopathy doctor in New Jersey USAFrom sahai [Log on to view profile] on 2005-11-26
You probably have been able to clear most of the surface by cortisone, but any homeopath will tell you that it has only been supressed and not cured. It will come up again in the form of asthma and when asthma is supressed by allopathy, the eczema will return.

Even now it is not too late. If you clear the remaining by Graphite, the eczema will be permanently cured and there will be no asthma due to it in future. You may also use Graphite ointment. If there is itching, apply an ointment of Graphite made thus(ratio): 1 dram liquid Graphite 3x(or lowest available) in 1 ounce of pure petroleum jelly).

My 5 month old also has ezcema... I understand how frustrating it is to see your little baby with this horrible itch/rash!!

I have started feeding him cold pressed flax seed oil with his lunch (home cooked fruit or veg) and this is working well.

I use organic bath wash and creme to try and lock in some moisture. It is called Gaia Skin Naturals and is available in Australia where we live. A lady made her own stuff for her little boy that had ezcema and it snowballed into a business. It does not promise to cure but is nice and soothing and takes the redness and irritation out of the skin.

My baby started getting it behind knees, scalp (not sure if it is cradle cap coz it dries out after bath time) and nappy area then it spread to nearly all creases and neck/chest.

I always bathe him in olive oil and this helps heaps too.

We have stopped using any commercial baby products that we can't read the ingredients - I can't believe that they sell that stuff to put on little babies!

Hope this might help... Good luck!

Carly

Just to see if your baby is having the same type eczema, is it oozing sticky honey-like substance in the case of your baby?

Re: eczema/food allergy - homeopathy doctor in New Jersey USAFrom Carly [Log on to view profile] on 2005-11-28
No, we don't have any oozing... I have the feeling that it is Infant Ezcema - the one that starts as cradle cap and nappy area redness.

When I went to the doctor they said that it was just generalised ezcema.

Update

Today on 11/29/05, we had a phone consult with our homeopathy doctor who had given our son Thuja a month back.

Thuja according to him should have increased his appetite and we should have seen a good weight gain, which we did not.

Our son's weight gain has been on the increase since September and that is because of increase in calories via formula milk(elecare) and food intake.

To make long story short
The current status of my son(11 months) is

Ecezema is still present on parts of this body to which we are applying cortizone. The cortizone is not curing it as far as the appearance is concerned, its maintaining it at a stedy state. I know cortisone is just pushin it inside which will then lead to asthma. We
are already seeing an early signs of it as my son has started to cough, has congestions and stuffed nose.

I mentioned to the doctor about a replacement for cortisone to which he will now start my son with Psorinum 6c one dose a day

He said this will help his skin itching, perhaps his eczema and more importantly his servere food allergies

Will Psorinum help in this case?

I am curious to know from fazal if his child's eczema/food allergy has improved, and what he tried to help it. My daughter has similar, if not worse, food allergies and eczema. It started after her vaccination. She is now 16 months old and still no end in sight. She cannot attend daycare because she needs around the clock monitoring.

I am at my wits end and very desparate for help for her. The itching is unbearable. She has basically tested positive to virtually most foods including milk, soy, peanuts and all food of the legume family, egg, wheat, lamb, pork, beef, turkey, nut, shellfish, nuts, etc. Currently, she is un a special formula (not milk not soy) called EO28. It is very expensive. I, like Fazal, is in desparate search for help. Does anyone have a suggestion. Western traditional medicine has not helped.

We are groping in the dark here- need to establish what miasmatic influences are in the hereditary chain.

What caused the death of the lasr 4 - 5 generations in the familys on both sides .
