The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Attn Joe de Livera

Joe,
I wanted to try your remedy for obesity (Nat Phos), a long time ago. But I could not give up coffee.
I want to try again. But I was wondering if I should wait for some time without taking coffee before I start the remedy. Is this necessary?
Also can I take caffeine-free sodas and coffee? What I don't understand is that tea also has caffeine, and you can take it with homeopathic medicine- is it because it is a different kind of caffeine?
Also when I went to India last, they told me that the new homeo meds are not sensitive to caffeine, could this even be possible.
Lastly I want to thank you for taking so much interest in the wellness of others without vested interests.

I have just seen your post.

I presume that you have read my first post on Christmas Day 2004 where I announced my discovery of the amazing property of Nat Phos 6x to reduce weight.

It is now being used by thousands throughout the world thanks to the 2 Homeopathic forums to which I contribute and it has safely reduced the weight of about 90% of those who use it at the rate ranging from 0.1 - 1kg per week. I have however had a recent report of 5kg in just 1 month which I consider is very good in the case of a person who works in my organization.

The amazing quality of Nat Phos 6x is that it seems to work by accelerating the passage of food down the gut thereby not permitting the full absorbtion into the body and it has within this year of usage, proved to be absolutely safe in use if used in the recommended dosage.

Answering your questions........
I have always noted that if the taboos of Coffee, colas including the caffein free ones and preserved meats like sausages, bacon are used the remedy does not work to reduce weight. The caffeine in tea is minute in comparison to that found in coffee. Tea is loaded with amphetamines which do not seem to affect the remedy.

There is no such new remedies that are not antidoted by these foods and beverages. The majority were first discovered 200 years ago and it is just that I discovered unusual applications for Nat Phos 6x which was first discovered 150 years ago by Dr Schuessler who specialized in Biochemic salts. I have also discovered that Arnica 6c if used nightly has also a very beneficial effect on the body and you might try it out sometime and observe how you sleep very deeply after the first dose which must be taken before sleep.

Thank you for your appreciation of my efforts to selflessly help anyone in distress which is a direct contrast to those who prefer to vilify me because I do not follow the 'classical' rules of Homeopathy and still others who are sensitive to my mentioning the 2 'discoveries' that I made above of old remedies used for new applications not reported in the texts.

Joe,
Thanks for your reply.
Please also tell me if I need to spend some time detoxing (to remove the caffeine already in my system) before I start out with Nat Phos.
I don't have a lot of pills left and want to make sure that I start only when the medicine can actually be effective.
Thanks again for you work.

If you stop coffee for a week you are OK for the Nat Phos 6x.

You must plan to use it for some time in the future and get in sufficient stocks of this Biochemic remedy which is in tablet form.

It is important that you record your weight when you start on the therapy and every week to verify your weight loss which should be in the region of from 1-2 pounds per week.

You can safely continue to take it for as long as you like and you will also observe that you will sleep more soundly and that it also helps with constipation.

so sorry to bother you over and over
but what do you think about taking Fucus vesiculosus in conjunction with NAt phos?

catchmehere44 last decade
I cannot understand the reason why you wish to take any other remedy together with the Nat Phos 6x.

You first stated that you wish to reduce your weight and that you could not give up your coffee and later you decided to give it up as I presume you valued your weight above the coffee.

This is what I cannot understand about your wanting to take Fucus V which is also another remedy for weight reduction which is described in Boreicke's MM as follows:

"A remedy for obesity and non-toxic goitre; also exophthalmic. Digestion is furthered and flatulence diminished. Obstinate constipation; forehead feels as if compressed by an iron ring. Thyroid enlargement in obese subjects."

I cannot object to your taking it but I am sure that the Nat Phos 6x will not help you if you take the Fuc together.

It is up to you to decide if you should use a known remedy which I know is now being used by perhaps thousands throughout the world and reduce your weight or experiment with Fucus V.

Was just asking out of desperation...
thanks

Never despair in life. Always look on the bright side of things and you will discover that it all turns out for the best.

You will realize what I say when you reach my age of 76 when every moment is precious and it feels good to be able to use my experience in Homeopathy and other subjects that I am good at, to help anyone in distress.

Use the Nat Phos 6x as I instructed and report back in a week. If everything is OK and you are one of those whom Nat P can help you should lose at least a pound per week or more if you are overweight.

Thanks Joe.
Will start in a week when i am detoxed of caffeine. So will let you know in 2 weeks.

Hi Joe!
I started taking Nat phos as instructed and thought that I was seeing serious results. But one evening I ended up having a few glasses of wine after which I noticed that the weight loss wasn't the same. Then I read one of your posts sayign that alcohol will hegate the effect of nat phos. Now I guess I have to start all over again.
Please advise.
Also my friend told me about orange tea for weight loss, is ther any harm in having that along with the nat phos?

THanks Joe.

catchmehere44 last decade
I am glad that you had seen my post about how Acohol stopped the action of Nat Phos from helping with weight loss. You mentioned that you noticed 'serious results' and shall be interested to know what they were.

I cannot account for this phenomenon of alcohol interfering with weight loss but have observed it in many cases which were not reacting to the remedy. Even a glass of beer seems to stop its action.

I can oly presume that the alcohol acts in a similar manner to the coffee which also prevents the remedy from helping with the weight loss.

It does however fulfill the purpose for which it was used originally which was to help with the digestion and to alleviate Hyperacidity for which the only remedy known to MD's was Aluminium Hydroxide sold under various brand names like Gelusil, Alisatine etc. which works by neutralizing the acid. The Nat Phos 6x however promotes peristalysis and this is felt within 10 minutes of taking 2 tablets when you can feel the food leaving the stomach.

Joe,
I do experience unusual lightness in the stomach after a heavy meal while taking nat phos. As a person trained in biology, I can understand the mechanism of persitalsis.

The problem with accounting for the weight loss while I was taking nat phos at first was that I had decided not to attach too much importance on how much weight had been lost. So I did not record it. But I noticed that the reading on the scale was not as high as usual. I would say maybe I lost an lb or two a week.

Could your observations about alcohol be because the beer is carbonated and is like drinking soda which is forbidden while on nat phos for weight loss? Have you seen the same situation for people who drink hard liquor or wine? I am asking because it is difficult for me to avoid social drinking but I shall try my best.

Please also comment on the orange tea if possible.

Regards.

A problem that some people have when using Nat Phos 6x both for the treatment of Hyperacidity and for weight loss is that they do still tend to eat large meals secure in the knowledge that when they do, popping 2 tablets of Nat Phos shortly after, will send their food down. If the person uses it for weight reduction he will have to cut out all alcohol as for some reason which I cannot understand their weight remains static. Perhaps you can help with your experience in Biology, to figure this phenomenon out. My guess is that the alcohol tends to neutralize the peristalytic process which is accelerated by the Nat Phos or at least to slow it down, and this will then result in the food taking its usual time to go through the gut thereby permitting full absorption into the blood stream.

I do not have the facilities for doing any research here in Sri Lanka where I live and all I can do is to offer my discovery to the world in the hope that others who are more qualified than I am and have the necessary facilities to carry out this simple test will do so to prove or disprove this phenomenon of how Nat Phos 6x reduced weight. All I can state today is that thousands are using this Biochemic salt and are enjoying the benefits. I know of some who simply overeat and as I stated before use the Nat Phos to counter their over indulging in their meals.

You can visualize how the use of this remedy which I discovered exactly a year ago and have proved is absolutely safe in use and which has been used for hundreds of years to treat GERD can revolutionize weight reduction throughout the world, especially in the US where I am informed that 65% of the population is considered Obese. I have given details in another post of the discovery of another weight reduction drug Rimnobant, news of which was released by the BBC about 6 months ago which was a derivative of Cannabinoid and was found even before release to have some serious side effects. I presume that this drug has now been released after suitable modifications were made to these after effects.

This BBC release can be read on: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4445951.stm

My post can be read on: http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/29789/

I cannot comment on Orange Tea as although the world's finest tea grows in Sri Lanka or Ceylon as we were known about 30 years ago, I have not come across your orange tea which I presume is tea with a flavouring added to it. I am a connoisseur of tea myself and prefer to drink only the high grown teas which have a flavour which can only be described as divine. Addition of any flavour to this tea can be considered a sacrilege !

About alcohol's effect on peristalsis:
Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant. This means that it probably reduces peristaltic function because alcohol sends the whole body into a relaxed mode.

What I am wondering is if an occasional night of drinking can reverse all the good produced by taking nat phos? I can see why it won't work with a habitual drinker due to the above reasons.

About the orange tea, it is not flavored tea. Actually what you have to do is stew the rind of bitter oranges, and drink the resulting concoction or "tea". I found that bitter orange has a compound that can help increase the metabolic rate. I wonder if it would counteract nat phos.

Thank you Joe for your continued help. This alcohol thing is proving to be a huge problem because my friends are hell-bent on my having a few drinks at parties.

let me know what you think

catchmehere44 last decade
If your problem is an occasional drink at parties, you can go ahead but as you have rationalized the alcohol will prevent the Nat Phos from bringing your weight down. You need not take it on a party day. I feel however that it should work quite satisfactorily on days you take it without alcohol.

I had noticed this effect on 2 others who were like you and one of them just could not do without his evening whisky and I informed him that it was as much as his weight was worth to him and after some weeks using both he decided to stop his evening peg and he now feels a different man today as he has lost over 10kg. He also feels much better for stopping his whisky to which he was wedded for many years. He now joins me every evening for my 45 minutes walk in the park opposite my residence.

Your comments about orange tea is interesting and if you still wish to use it and also reduce your weight, I would suggest you use the Nat Phos 6x except on party days and record your weight weekly and then take the orange tea and see if it interferes with the therapy.

I would appreciate feedback from time to time on your weight if possible.

Thanks Joe!
This time I am recording my weight :)
Will do as you have instructed.

Joe,
My dad is a homeopathic practitioner and he used to always tell me to give a gap (like 10 minutes) between consumption of any food item or drink and taking of the homeopathic remedy. Is this applicable to nat phos?

catchmehere44 last decade
It is best to take Nat Phos 6x immediately after your meal as this will help it to start working immediately to accelerate the passage of the food down through the gut, thereby ensuring that it is not absorbed completely as it would have done without the remedy.

Please report your weight reduction if any weekly.

Hi Joe!

I am just reporting back to you on Nat phos. I have been taking it since 29 October. My weight on that day was 156.5 lbs. Today I checked my weight, it was 156 lbs. No significant change. I am wondering if this is due to my running ( I started at the same time I started NP)- maybe I gained some muscle mass? I dont knw what to think. I did miss some doses but not more than 20% of them.
Also I usually wake up at 10 am and have lunch at 4 pm and dinner at 8 pm. I take NP after lunch and dinner. I have breakfast and a snack before 4 am. Maybe I should change the time at which i take the doses? Please comment.

-a little letdown

catchmehere44 last decade
I presume that you have taken NP since September 29 (not Oct). It should have reduced your weight by now in 2 weeks and if it does not by the end of a month it can be presumed that you are one who is not sensitive to the NP therapy.

You can get another stock from some other supplier and look for the NP 6x Biochemic tablets. No coffee and the other taboos as this remedy is extremely shy of these beverages and foods. Try to eat less and hope for the best.

Joe,
I have been following all the diet restrictions on this remedy. i will try for a bit more and maybe another supplier.
thanks
