Learning Homeopathy

Hi,
I want to learn homeopathy.I am really inspired by the curative potentional of homeopathy. I am saying this based on my personal experience (see my posts about me having eczema). Another reason I want to take up homeopathy is that I want to help my family as EVERYBODY in my family is sick (For example My dad's kidney was removed recently due to a tumor).

As a profession I am an engineer. And it is difficult for me to join an institute at the moment. Can anybody please recommend a starting point (a first book that I might study or some online reading materail).

Please advise.
Thanks

Hi there kizersouzay. I too am very interested in homeopathy but don't have the funds or time to learn it at a school. Everybody i 'know' seems to have some sort of illness/problem whether it is a slight mental or physical problem. Nowadays its just too much!

I was just browsing your thread which had the pictures you posted and was wondering, did your condition completely clear up? And what remedy did you use & what else did you do?

Members of my family have bad eczema/psoriasis and i really want to help them. I too have some bad eczema patches and am trying to treat them with homepathy.

Thankyou

To Everyone

Thanks for your replies. But I need a little more input from you guys. I know that there is 'Materia Medica' out there and Organon by the founder of the Homeopathy. But I am new to homeopahty. I cant just pick up a materia medica and start using it. And organon seems to be a very difficult read. And I m sure these are not the first books that are taught in a homeopathic college/university.

Your answers actually raise some more questions

1- Is homeopathy just memorizing the symptoms and then prescribing the medicine?

2- Can you please refer some book that is written for a beginer. And that also address some basic homeopathic subjects like medicine potencies and homeopathic philosophy?

To IAMn006

Its a bit off topic but here is my 'Eczema Story'.

I m really thankful to brisbanhomeopath for listening to me and suggesting 'Carcinosin'. Knowing that I am a 'carcinosin' homeopathic personality, helped me a lot to understand myself and my disease. I did a lot of reaseach on the internet and came across some good advice as a carcinosin. My eczema was eventually cured till the end of April. But It was not cured by homeopathic medicine. The reason is that previously I was living in KSA. And homeopathic medicine was not available (I somehow managed to get carcinosin by the way).

As far as 'my eczema' is concerned I have realized that eczema is just a representation of another disease I have. I dont know what is the name but the problem is with my digestive system. My digestive system is not absorbing the nutrition required by my body. So I changed my whole dietary habits to improve it. But the major thing that was missing and causeing eczema was vitamin b3 (or niacin). So I started taking heavy dose of niacin (100mg) and my eczema was gone in two weeks. Niacin is mostly found in chicken breast, chicken liver, lamb liver, purslane and linseed. This is actually a temporary remedy of eczema. But in those times I was in a so much miserable condition that I thanked God I got rid of it even with niacin. From time to time I take carcinosin when I am down and depressed (even these days).

But bad news is that I am having an eczema flare again these days. Still I havn't been able to fix my digestive system. I do plan to post another thread on this forum soon about my digestiive problems and I hope the good and experienced homeopaths on this forum will advise me the right medicine. I dont live in KSA anymore so homeopathic medicine is not a problem anymore.

I know that those who have severe eczema (which I had) suffer a LOT. so niacin is a quick fix. and I guess without so many side effects. But I think eczema is usually related to digestive system disorder. So you can give niacin (100mg) to your relative. It takes some time (2 - 3) weeks to heal. Dont buy the flush free niacin. Get the real one.

Totality has been made much confusing by new schools when they started dealing it philosophically. Initially you should follow the traditional method by reading Organon first.

This is not homeopathy, but most digestive issues are because of stomach flora disturbance. When we take antibiotics, both good and bad bacteria get destroyed. We need the good bacteria for proper digestion. Something like Kefir would help rebuild stomach flora.
