Recurring Boils

For about 2 years I have been getting boils on the back of my upper thigh and on my inner thigh close to my bikini line.

The area becomes very red and inflamed. After about one week a very hard knot develops that is very sore to touch. About one week after the knot forms, the boil becomes filled with blood and pus and it remains very hard and tender for about one month.

After a month the boils then will release a blood/pus discharge and then it will begin to heal. Once it heals, I then develop another boil around the same area. They are very slow to come come to surface and heal.

During the first year that this occurred, it happened maybe 3 or 4 times within that year. Now it occurs about every month usually right before I start my period. Right when one boil is beginning to finally heal it is time for my period and another boil develops. This is very frustrating.

What are these caused from? I searched the Remedy Finder and it was suggested to try Sulphur. I have also read in several books that Silica is the remedy for recurring boils that are slow to develop and heal. I do not know which if either is the correct remedy and I am not experienced enough with homeopathy to know the correct remedy.

Could someone please advise a remedy and potency?

Thank you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Could Erika, Nisha, Joe, sajjadakram635, Parachute, Passkey...someone please reply?

I do not want to have to endure one more month with this condition. I have been reading and researching but I do not have the confidence or experience to self diagnose and treat without advice.

There are no homeopaths in my city. There is only one that is about 75 miles from my home.

Please someone reply.

Thank you.

Sajjadakram635,

Thank you very much for your advice. I have a few questions before I order the 3 remedies you advised.

1. "anthracinum 200c.take three doses of1-2 drops half an hour apart first week."

"second week.taretula cubensis 200c.three doses 1-2 drops half an hour apart"

I am unfamiliar as to how to take drops. The only remedies I have taken were pellets. Do I mix with water? Could you please explain.

2. "all other 30 days gun powder 3x tablets one tablet three times daily alongwith echinacea 30 c 5 drops thrice daily."

I do not understand "all other days". Do you mean for 30 days after I have completed the Anthracinum and Taretula Cubenis I am to take 3x Gunpowder and 30C Echinacea?

Thank you again, very much.

Homeopathy prescribed conveniently - THIS FOR THAT

1. Massage a little Glycerine on the affected surrounding areas, just before sleeping.
2. There might be pull of hair / tissues near the affected areas, DUE TO wrong positioning of under garments. The strechable elastic too might be pulling / tightening on skin tissues.
3. Ice application on affected will also help.
4. Have it checked for inverted hair growth.

Cinnamonum-Q + Echinacea-Q = 1 drops of each in 10 ml water. Keep wetting / applying on skin repeatedly, with a little cotton. Will relieve off repeated tendency.

Also think of Silicea, Hep.Sulph., Calc.Flour-6X,

Nisha,

Thank you for your suggestions. Initially I thought this problem was inverted hair growth. But it has reoccurred so many times I think that the condition is skin boils.

I have been following all of your "This For That" Posts...they are very informative and I have learned a great deal from your advice and insight..thank you.

sajjadakram635,

I am going to try your remedy suggestions and will place an order today. This is how I understand:

1. First week: 1-2 drops of 200C Anthracinum in 1/2 cup of water. Take one sip, three times, 1/2 hour a part for one week.

2. Second week: 1-2 drops 200C Tarentula Cubenis in 1/2 cup of water. Take one sip, three times, 1/2 hour apart for one week.

3. Repeat week one and week two for following 2 weeks.

4. Begining on day one for 30 days: take one pellet of 3X Gunpowder three times a day and add 5 drops of 30C Echinecea Anqustifolia in 1/2 cup of water; Sip once (?) three times a day.

Is this correct? Thank you for all of your time and help.

sajjadakram635,

I just received an email about the order I placed...3x gunpowder is not available, but they have 7x...would this be okay?

thank you

I do not have liquid remedies...only the pellets and they do not fully dissolve in water...can I just dissolve the pellets under my tongue rather than sipping them with water?

I woke up this morning with another very painful and large boil and I am anticipating (as usual) at least 2-3 weeks before it will fully surface and begin to heal.

This is such a frustrating condition and honestly...I do not understand how or why I have developed these...can someone please explain what causes boils or how they contracted? Are they contagious?

Any other remedy suggestions or ANY method for treatment of this condition will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much...

You can use remedies by any way that suits you.It does not make any difference.Did you use the remedies that i told you?.

sajjadakram635 last decade
no...i have not used the remedies...but i ordered them and received them last month. the only difference is the gunpowder which is 7x instead of 3x...as i posted in september.

so i will begin taking the 200c anthracinum...i prefer the dry method...i understand that i take each remedy for one week except the echinacea and the gunpowder which i take for 30 days but how many times a day do i take each remdedy?

thanks...

Arsenicum album: This remedy is useful for deeply infected boils with intensely burning pain and offensive discharge. Warmth and hot applications usually are soothing. The person may feel exhausted and ill, yet anxiety and discomfort also make them restless.

Belladonna: This remedy is often indicated in early stages of inflammation, before much pus has formed. The area is red, hot, throbbing, and tender, often with intense or stabbing pains. Jarring or touch may increase discomfort. The person may also feel excitable or feverish.

Calendula: This remedy is often helpful as a topical application for boils and infected sores. It can be used in herbal form or in low dilution as a tincture, ointment, or compress. Taken internally, Calendula can help the body overcome infection.

Echinacea angustifolia: This well-known herb is often used to help the immune system overcome infection. In homeopathic form, it sometimes helps a person with recurring boils. People who need this remedy typically feel sickly, lethargic, achy, and chilly.

Hepar sulphuris calcareum: When a boil is extremely tender and sensitive to touch, this remedy can be helpful. A splinter-like sticking pain is often felt. The boil may produce deep pockets of offensive pus or be slow to heal. This remedy is also indicated when boils seem to be spreading. A person who needs this remedy usually is vulnerable and touchy, with extreme sensitivity to cold.

Mercurius solubilis: This remedy is indicated when boils are very sensitive with advanced development of pus. The person may have moist or greasy-looking skin, with swollen lymph nodes and offensive breath, and be very sensitive to changes in temperature. Warmth may aggravate the pain.

Silicea (also called Silica): Boils that form hard lumps and are slow to come to a head and slow to heal suggest a need for this remedy. If many boils form at once, or boils frequently recur, it is often very useful. People who need this remedy are sensitive and nervous, inclined toward colds and swollen glands, and easily fatigued.

Tarentula cubensis: This remedy may be indicated when a boil is sore and swollen with stinging, burning pain, and purplish or bluish discoloration of surrounding tissues. A person who needs this remedy may also have restless feet and difficulty sleeping.

Homeopathy Dosage Directions
Select the remedy that most closely matches the symptoms. In conditions where self-treatment is appropriate, unless otherwise directed by a physician, a lower potency (6X, 6C, 12X, 12C, 30X, or 30C) should be used. In addition, instructions for use are usually printed on the label.

Many homeopathic physicians suggest that remedies be used as follows: Take one dose and wait for a response. If improvement is seen, continue to wait and let the remedy work. If improvement lags significantly or has clearly stopped, another dose may be taken. The frequency of dosage varies with the condition and the individual. Sometimes a dose may be required several times an hour; other times a dose may be indicated several times a day; and in some situations, one dose per day (or less) can be sufficient.

If no response is seen within a reasonable amount of time, select a different remedy.
