urinary tract infection

I have had a urinary tract infection for a week and a half now, and it has caused some unusual symptoms. At the first sign, I started taking cranberry, so a lot of my symptoms have cleared, but now I am experiencing a lot of pain in my kidneys. I am really anxious to feel better.

Symptoms:

-itchy, irritated, crawling feeling in urethra
-burning at the end of urination (mostly cleared up now)
-ache and sensitivity in bladder region (cleared up)
-cloudy urine
-unbearable urge to urinate (cleared up)
-aching kidney pain that is constantly there. It gets worse, however, when I am lying down or sitting. It feels very sore and tender internally.
-occasional tightness of breath, like lungs are not using full capacity. Sometimes this feels like pressure on my lower throat.
-a lot of anxiety about the pain
-irritiblity and restlessness. I have found it hard to sleep and been tossing and turning a lot.

I just purchased Cantharsis (30c was all I could find) and have had 5 pellets. It has not helped really at all. I have stopped the cranberry and have been drinking water and trying to avoid processed food.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it. I am starting to get really nervous about my health now that the pain is primarily in my kidneys.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Look at Sepia, Sul and Petroleum.

Also Berberis.

If your symptons have not eased by now after taking the many remedies that you have used up to now, it is time to take the drug Ciprofloxcine also known as Cipro twice daily.

I was concerned at your pain in your Kidneys which you must not play around with any more.

Consult a Urologist and he will most likely put you on Cipro for about a week.

If you take a pharmaceutical drug it may cure the symptoms.

BUT IT WILL NOT cure the problem.

Suppression is one of the main evils of modern medicine.

When things are suppressed they drive deeper into the body and create really serious problems.

Arnica is of course useless in this sort of case.

Hi There,

You may be suffering from interstitial cystitis; a form of bladder infection that can be exacerbated by cranberry juice.

Since it is moving up wards to your kidney (which is a bad sign in your case because your not draining properly), you really have two choices 1) is to keep taking advice on this form which means delayed time and less in person touch 2) see your M.D. get a prescription clear it up before the kidney gets to become an issue.

I normally would never recommend antimicrobial therapy (antibiotics) but because you tried to self treat yourself and it is not going the way you hoped it would I wouldn't play around too much.

If you still want to try homoeopathy you will probably want to be a lot more aggressive.

If you have a fever along with your kidney pains you need to be very careful with those symptoms.

As Joe said "I was concerned at your pain in your Kidneys which you must not play around with any more". I would take it a step further and never play around with your health professional trained medical homoeopaths will help you a lot more then guessing and trying.

Don't barging for a medical treatment those are things you pay a price for one way or another.

P.S. this was no attack on Joe (as I've seen a few attacks on him; which is unfair) as I really do enjoy reading his posts, itÂ’s just when it comes to health there is a concern of my involving ethics and responsibility; both of which I worry about when I see people who have health concerns that should be taken care of by professionals to save any extensive pain or possible harm from missing key symptoms and signs.

Also Joe, I do appreciate your honesty; you are a gem for that :-)

Sorry for the non-helpful post.

Hi all, thanks for the responses. I have been taking cantharis and it has actually cleared it up pretty nicely. My kidney pain has subsided (i never had a fever, which was the point where I would have given in and gone to see an MD). My general health and feeling of wellbeing is better, also.

This is my first venture into homeopathy (other than arnica for lots of bumps and bruises) and I am really glad that I did it. I

I am so relieved that your problem has been resolved.

May I invite you to read the posts that I have made a short while ago on Arnica under:
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/34611/

Arnica will help you if you take it as I have indicated in the post above.

Thank you for your tribute.
It is my pleasure to be of help.
I believe that I ran afoul of a few classical homeopaths who have mercifully decided that if they start up any more attacks again that the Homeopathic community comes to my aid.

I do realize that my diagnosis and the treatment I suggest is not what Hahnemann would have accepted. My feeling is that if my methods also work successfully like with Arnica and Nat Phos, why should they be so violently disposed against me and try to silence me from promoting my approach to treatment ? I know that I cannot change their outlook which as I have stated before is more like a religion which they prefer to keep that way, as they are perhaps apprehensive that they may stand to lose their own revenue from consultations which anyone gets free of charge from me and others on this forum.

Joe

Waterfall D-Mannose if good treatment for UTIs, it's definitely worth a try.
