Illogical to Give Doses of Substances

It Seems Illogical to Give Doses of Substances That Cause Symtoms Similar to Those the Sick Person Has in Order to Cure Them. Explain This.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please read Organon of Medicine by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. It is a great book on the philosophy and practice of homeopathy by the father of homeopathy.

Because that was the great discovery of Dr. Hahnemann - he found that a medicine used to treat malaria (peruvian bark) when taken by a healthy person, produced symptoms very similar to malaria. This opened his eyes to something few other scholars had realised - that something cures by nature of its ability to also create similar states. He went on to experiment on himself with more substances, and found the same thing. Where it was said to cure something, the substance would cause those symptoms in a healthy person. As he began to apply this new principle around the other way (to sick people) he found that he could achieve a much more reliable consistency of cures.

Using the Law of Opposites, which is generally what orthodox medicine does, cures nothing. It only suppresses symptoms, and must be repeated very often at risk to the patient's health and life. Using the Law of Similars, the vital energy is instead stimulated to overcome the disease.

We understand that your symptoms are not the true disease, but are simply your body's attempt to survive the disease. They are, therefore to be aided not hindered. The body knows what it is doing, it knows how best to go about defeating disease, but it often lacks the power to do so. Our medicines both respect their battle strategy and reinforce it, allowing victory where alone the body cannot do it.
