Interdigital Furnucle on front paw

Hello,

I am a proud owner of a 1.5 year old English Bull Dog, better known as 'Pasquale'. Pasquale had a foot infection on the underside of his paw a few months back, and he was constantly licking the area underneath. We went to the vet, and she gave us medicated pads to clean Pasquale's paws with. I noticed while cleaning the front paw that was infected, that underneath this paw he had a scab that came off while treating.

About 2 weeks later, we brought him in to get his rabies and parvo virus shot.

1 week after these shots were administered, a mysterious 'bump' appeared on the top of Pasquale's paw(right above/on the other side of where the infection had been underneath).

We brought Pasquale back to the vet, they took a biopsy, and confirmed it was not a tumor or anything else. They slapped us with a large bill and sent us on our merry way, and told us to wet a cloth with warm water and use the cloth to massage over the lump on his foot. They instructed us that if it did not get better, to come back to the vets office and we would start a long regiment of antibiotics.

We tried the warm cloth, and nothing really happened. the bump got bigger, and his foot started to spread.

I have been opposed to taking him back to the vet, as I don't want to put him on antibiotics for this, as my gut tells me that this will do more harm.

I then researched a little on line, and started the following regiment daily:

1) Soaking his paw 2X per day in warm water and Epsom salt
2) Feeding him 1 tsp of Raw organic coconut oil, organic first cold pressed flax oil, and Norwegian fish oil, 2X per day
3) 5 drops of Grapefruit seed extract 2x per day(with food) Note: he eats Stella and Chewys' brand Dandy Lamb patties (Raw organic patties, .5lbs 2X a day)
4) After the epsom soaks, we use a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide to swab the top and underside of the paw. We then spray the paw with a mixture of water and some grapefruit seed extract.- 2x per day

**Within a week of this regiment, the interdigital furnucle has shrunk by 75%. While the lump is now very small and deflated, it is still there and visible. Its no longer red, or pussing, but there is still a small bump that is a bit deflated.

I am planning to continue the regiment for a few more weeks.

I am writing to this forum to find out if there is anything else I can be doing, Or if there is something DIFFERENT that I can be doing, to ensure that this furnucle completely disappears, and that he is not at risk for a re-occurrence.

FYI- Pasquale is not an overweight bully, his weight is 55lbs, and he has a curved waistline demonstrating that he is very fit. He loves to run around and is very active-- not your TYPICAL bull dog.

Thank you!
Katie**

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him 2 pellets of Silicea 12x in the morning and evening for 4 days and see how that affects.
You may continue with whatever other things you are doing to help him, there won't be any interference.
