strange symptoms of alergic asthma
I have alergic asthma. The skin test showed alergy to grasses pollen.On June 20th 2004 I started a homeopathic treatment (silica) which seemed to work for me. The cough and mucus are almost gone. This May, during the pollen season, during the pollen season I took the Singulair pill. The result was that I feel excelent.
BUT .....
My lungs exhale speed and lung capacity are at a record low (55% of normal) since February.
When I was taking cortizone last year, my speed/volume capacity was at it was at about 70% of normal. Now it has fallen to 55%.
I do not understand. I feel so strong. I do not cough. My pneumonologist cannot explain it. My homeopath doctor cannot explain.
I bought the powerbreath (to increase my lung muscles strength) and I can see them getting stronger. But even so, when my doctor measures my lung capacity, it is way down.
Can you give me an idea?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
look to how you feel in yourself rather than to how you measure up on a machine. If you have problems breathing then the machine diagnosis is useful, but if you feel good then why measure!?

The most important thing is quality of life. And right now I enjoy it by not having much cough and mucus. But I am an analytical person. I see that something is wrong. And I want to fix it before it gets worse or I become older and weeker.
BTW, I am 39, live very healthy, exercise, no smoking or coffe.

It contains minoxidol and a couple of other well known substances. My pharmacist told me that since it is applied externally, it will not affect the homeopathic treatment I had 3 months before. But when I asked my homeopath doctor about it, he said that it _could_ be the cause of this strahge lung weekness. He only speculated.
BTW, I am 39, live very healthy, exercise, no smoking or coffe.

certainly cortisone absorbed through your skin can possibly affect your whole system. Whether it is the cause of your worry or not I do not know. If it has affected the remedy then surely the remedy can be prescribed again or a differnent remedy? what treatment does your homeopath now suggest?

The homeopath does not know why the lungs have this low reading. So he did not prescribe anything. The initial treatment (June-July 2004) was 30 days (30 pills) of Silica.
I also have alergic rinitis and puffy eyes (all due to the same alergy I suppose). So on March he prescribed to me Sulphur 200 and another 1M one hour later (for the nose-eyes). He told me to take it when I stop the hair solution. Since I continue the hair solution, I dis not take the Sulphur yet.

Let me ask something different. The latest inhaler that the doctor had prescribed was Symbicort. It was very effective. Now I do not want to use it again because it contains cortizone. What other products are out there, with same effectiveness, but that they do not contain cortizone?

I don't really have a problem with hair. I took it as preventive measures.
Now, to stop it, I will need to make the solution thinner for some time, so as the sculp doe snot get a shock.
I am also reluctant to stop it, because I do not know for sure if this is the reason. My doctor does not know the reason and a "maybe" is not enough for me. 2 years ago I tried so many different (alternative) things. Vegeterianism, I even stopped eating fruits. I heard so many "maybe"s and they were all wrong.

ok - so when did you begin the hair treatment and when did your lung capacity measure fall?
what else was going on at the time of this fall in reading of lungs?
I must also ask again whether the reading is that important if you feel so well? Have you got any cough, strange mucus, pain on breathing, difficulty breathing, chest pains or any x-rays that show a lung problem? could you get an x-ray done?

Since 21 June 2004 (start of homeopathic asthme treatment) I feel good. But many times I will have symptoms like a little cough and some mucus from the lungs. No pain or difficulty in breathing.
At about April 20th, I started feeling weak in the lungs, more cough etc. I considered this natural, it was start of the pollen perion. So I started Singulair. I never felt better. I feel so strong, no cough, very very very rarely some mucus. If I forget to take Singulair one night, I immediatelly feel it the next day. I am not that strong.
Last chest x-ray was on 22 Jan 2004. Did not show anything. I prefer not to have another one.

i presume these are the readings of your lung capacity? thanks for that. is the top one meant to read 2004 or 2005?
what is singulair?
also glad your x-ray was clear, I can understand you not wanting another at the moment. has your doctor suggested another x-ray at all?

Hi. I dont know where you live, but I've heard that the downfall from chemtrails (made under the description of a geo engineering project) contains tiny particles of aluminium. These would be most harmful for the lungs. And in that respect, I guess Silicea could be a great remedy? I would love to hear if other people have any experience with this.
