Broken leg in dog

I have a 7 year old male Sheltie that broke his hind leg just above his hock 8 weeks ago. He has an external fixator on with 2 pins to hold it in place. He went to the vets a few days ago and the x ray showed that there has been very little healing, only a few millimetres around the edge. He is on metacam, antibiotics and a calcium, zinc, magnesium etc supplement and fish oil. He gets 2-2.5 hours a day of road walking . Any help anyone could give me to help his recovery would be extremely grateful, as if his leg does not heal it will have to be amputated. Thankyou

I have found the remedy Symphytum to be very useful in this situation. I would suggest getting Symphytum 30c, and giving him daily doses for about a week.

INSTRUCTONS FOR SPLIT DOSING

Firstly, you need to create a separate dosing bottle. Get a bottle with a dropper, 15-30mls in size, and fill it with a mixture of water and alcohol (5 parts to 1 part). Dissolve 2-4 granules or 2-4 drops of the medicine you bought from the pharmacy into this mixture. Your doses will be made from this bottle.

Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of your hand, or another elastic surface like a book. It should be a firm hit not a tap. 2 hits is enough to begin with, and should not be increased unless it is clear that it is needed. The water in this bottle will 'remember' the number of times you have hit it, so that subsequent doses will be stronger (necessary to overcoming the resistance of your disease).

Place 1 drop into his mouth.

This is one dose. Repeat doses would be started from the 2 hits on the bottle.

Each step of this process can be adjusted to reduced aggravation or to increase the effect of the medicine. In order to be able to do this, it is important to measure each step (count the hits, the drops etc).

I would suggest 2 pillules or drops into the dosing bottle. Then use 1/4 cup of water. If you have trouble giving him a teasp

Thankyou very much for your help. I bought some Symphytum today and will be trying it out. I have 4 weeks to wait before my dog goes for another xray, but I'm hoping it will work. I will let you know if it does.

Thankyou so much for your help. My dogs leg has now fully healed and I really believe it was due to the symphytum. After the 1st 8 weeks there was very little healing. 4 weeks later and a course of symphytum his leg has completely healed
