The ABC Homeopathy Forum

For Joe de Livera

I think you are right about Arnica and deep sleep--in fact I felt hung over afterwards as if from a sedative or gen. anaesthesia. Strange.

Do you do this every single night even if you are taking other remedies at the time for something else?

It seems contrary from the classical homeopaty approach of stopping a remedy as soon as there is improvement.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
YES - I would stop when the condition improves!.

I did not notice your post up to now.

Your reaction to the Arnica is very interesting as I and many hundreds of others have used and are using it on a nightly basis with very positive results.

I would like to have more details from you of the potency you used, what time you took it and for how many nights.

Also please indicate the reason for you using Arnica and give your reaction in greater detail. I cannot believe that you woke up in a similar manner which you likened to a sedative or general anaesthesia. Are you sure you used Arnica ?

This is absolutely the very first time that anyone has complained that Arnica 30 had this reaction. I have taken it since 1995 every night and I owe to it my sense of wellness at age 75. I sleep very soundly and wake up completely refreshed and do not have any ache or pain in my body. BP 120/80 pulse 65.

You suggested it in another thread I started on the topic of Gelsemium dosage that no one exactly replied to my actual question, but you had interesting other comments related to headaches, sleep etc.

dose was as you suggested to me and which I said I would try: 30c, and unless Boiron mislabled, then it was arnica.

I took it at 10PM, slept till the following noon, and didn't feel fully awake until about 3PM. ("Sleeping in" not something I do as my window faces sun.)

I can't really say I am complaining just noticing. Certainly I wouldn't want to do it every night. Maybe a children's dose would be better.

You have an interesting approach to homeopathics in that you are matching a particular remedy to a single condition, and then taking it long term. Obviously it seems to be working for you, but isn't what method is usually suggested.

Keypass/Passkey--in case you come back to look at this, maybe you could respond to what was my original question that led to the Arnica for sleep test .

If I take 1 pellet Gelsemium 30c for headache, and it ends up greatly improved, but not all the way better, do I need to take another 30c Gelsemium, a higher potency Gelsemium, or do I need to find a remedy (eg in Clark lists or otherplace???) that completes the action toward cure started by the Gelsemium?
