Lycodpodium for baby

Hi, I visited a homeopathist for my 19 month old sons excema. He has a mild case - under ears inside of arm joints and behind knees but it will not go away. After asking me some brief questions about my son he perscribed Lycopodium 200 , 3 capsules once a day for 7 days. Does this sound correct? First of all it seems like a large amount and I cant find much info on Lyco being used for excema. Your input would be appreciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Lycopodium certainly can cure eczema, so that in itself is not a problem.

However, the dose is far too large. Really one single dose should be given only, and some time allowed to pass to see the reaction - a week or two would be prudent.

How brief were those questions? It usually takes 1/2 hour to an hour to take a child's case.

Thats what i was thinking after doing my own research. The questions were very brief - how well does he eat, describe him in a few words, can he play by himself were the only questions. Can there be negative effects if I do give the suggested dosage?

Yes you can aggravate his eczema, quite badly in some situations. You can also create new symptoms (side effects). Sometimes these symptoms stay until cured by a more carefully chosen remedy.

However, one dose shouldn't be too bad. I wouldn't hold high hopes on it being the right remedy though - those questions would not be enough to distinguish between Lycopodium and the other 5000+ medicines we have.

i see, thats very disappointing not to mention alarming! Thank you for your help, I suppose I could give him one and see any change but if I cant trust what the original doctor has said maybe i should see somebody else. He also has a reputation for being one of the best in the country I am in! Funny that. Thank you again.

Really? And he spends that little amount of time with patients?

I hear this so often, someone is meant to be the best in their city/country and yet they are not even practicing in the accepted and proven method. I wonder how they get such reputations?

Well I imagine you have paid money for it, no reason not to at least try the single dose. Perhaps by chance he was right. Just don't take it the way he prescribed it.

You should have a look at Dr. Luc Du Schepper's site, two articles there might be interesting for you.
