Treating TMJ with Arnica

I am a 30 year old female, who has recently been diagnosed with TMJ. Knowing this is most likely going to be a long term issue, I consulted with my Senior Priestess has she has the same issue, on what I could use to help with the pain other than what is prescriped by my Dr's. I have only been using an Arnica gel for a day and I already feel some improvement. If I continue this treatment and let my Dr. know about it would there be any issues long-term?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please find out whether you are taking pain-killers for your TMJ.
Arnica is a very good option compared to allopathic pain-killers.
So it is a matter of concern that you are taking unnecessary allopathic meds for the condition that can be treated by homeo remedies. Arnica can cause no long-term issues.

Right now in addition to the Arnica, I have a muscle relaxer Valium and an NSAID. I'm almost out of the NSAID though. I would really rather use the homeopathic remedies.

It is important to understand that 'homoeopathic' doesn't apply to our medicines unless they are given according to our principles. Using Arnica gel, even if it is infused with the potentized Arnica medicine, is not homoeopathic unless the specific symptoms used to presribe it match the picture of our remedy Arnica.

Homoeopathy is all about details - specific, individual, often peculiar and strange ones. Each of our medicines has a picture, a profile, a 'personality' if you will, that differentiates it from all other medicines.

For example, Arnica is Bruised, Sore, very much worse for the slightest touch, Aching - it feels like something heavy has bashed it quite hard. Arnica people tend to try to protect their affected locations, so that non-one will come near it or touch it accidentally. This is just a tiny part of the profile of arnica, which includes many thousands of symptoms.

The homoeopathic approach to treating TMJ is not to simply name the disease and the give a remedy, but to flesh out all the problems in your health and find a medicine that suits all the problems in your health. Homoeopathic philosophy teaches us that all disease, all symptoms, spring from one source - the disordered vital energy (life force). By looking all around a person's life and health, you can see the shape of the disturbance and solve it at a very deep level. This results in permanent cure of the primary symptom, as well as many other benefits as well, often unlooked for by the patient.
