11 month old with no apetite

i have an 11 month old girl and she recently had a fever and vomitting- diagnosed as a viral due to teething and weather change( has started raining in mumbai)
i gave her belladona as there was no cold, but i suspected the vomitting was due to cough.
subsequently she was given crocin every 5 hours for 48 hours as the fever persisted and one dose of domstal.
the fever has gone but she seems to have phlegm in the throat and a cold due to which she is refusing the bottle- cannot swallow and also vomitting when horizontal. she has not slept in 4 full days and nights and has lost over 1 kg in a week. she used to stand with support and was attempting to walk which now she is too weak to do.
in 11 months this is the first time i have used allopathy for her and always otherwise use homeopathy.
i would like a remedy for the following
1. to decongest the phlegm in the chest and make it come out thru her stool
2.to increase her apetite and weight
3. improve her sleep
4. get her back on track in terms of walking etc

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.

If she has constipated bowels please give her 5 doses of Calc Carb 200 at a gap of 12 hours.

If her bowels are not constipated please give her 5 doses of Chamomilla 200 at a gap of 12 hours.

If she has mild disposition and her bowels are not constipated give her few doses of Pulsatilla 200 a week after giving chamomilla.

could you explain what you mean by mild disposition please?

also i am actually looking for something that will stop phlegm production in itself.

after i last posted she has got a very phlegmy cough- confirmed that it is not in the chest but in the throat

please advise as she has been sick for over 2 weeks now

mild disposition means a girl with mild manners whom anyone likes to cuddle and people around her are not irritated by her.

hello
baby has been having chamo 200 every 12 hours as you suggested. listed below are my observations
1. she still has cold- running slightly> colour yellowish
2. coughs sporadically- sounds phlegmy
3. apetite has improved however does not consume milk
4. back to crawling actively however not interested in walking- though she attempts to stand everywhere possible
5 stool is semi solid( used to be solid) and sometimes offensive smelling. passes stool twice a day
6.sleep is very disturbed- often wakes startled and sometimes even crying( sobbing hysterically)
7. more comfortable during the afternoon- gets cranky towards evening
8. entire body smelling of phlegm
9. weight seems to have gone furthur down
10. is more comfortable with ac on - gets irritable when feeling hot

Please give her 5 doses of Calc Carb 200 at a gap of 12 hours if she doesn't improve under the influence of earlier doses of Chamomilla. Cal Carb should work for her looking at her other symptoms eventhough her bowels are not constipated. Please report back after 3 days.

also could you explain to me what you think is the problem with her? is this teething?

lastly please advise which of the remedies you have suggested will stop phlegm production, so i can keep in mind for future

just to update you- my baby has not passed stool today. cold and cough sound very phlegmy still. all other symptoms remain same as those written previously except the stool

i just got hold of calc carb 200 and was about to give but thought i would first update you on her status

Please go ahead with Calc Carb 200. It seems to be indicated on the basis of her symptoms. If it works she should feel better in all respects. It is a good remedy for children.

Dr. Kadwa, my apologies to interfere in the stream but I feel a dose of nosode BACILLINUM 1000 may be required to break any constitutional hinderence for Calc carb to work.

sorry for delayed response, but matters got worse and i have had no time to log on

she was getting better with calc carb and then suddenly i heard a sound in her back when she was sleeping. i ignored at first and then when it persisted i checked with the doc. the phlegm has gone into chest and she has viral bronchitis!!!

been on antibiotics augmentin for 4 days with fever of 103- terrible terrible time. jonac ibugesic suppository for fever as she wud not retain anything orally.
fever persisted for 4 days so did a chest x ray( much to my distress) and showed still infection in chest. switched to another antibiotic cycoderm for next 5 days.
currently broken out in severe rash al over the body,

seems like an endless ordeal need urgent help for a solution to cure her once and for all.

also really would appreciate any solution for building immunity and for repairing any internal damage that may be caused.

also do suggest if alfalfa tonic for babies is recomended by you

I my humble opinion,This episode all the more confirms the need of a Tubercular nosode (Bacillinum or Tuberculinum etc.) as mentioned in my earlier post in this stream.

Please give her nux vomica 200c in the morning and evening for 2 days. This should take care of the rash due to allopathic medicines and it may also help her overall.

After 2 days please give her a single dose of BACILLINUM 1M as suggested by Doctor Sahab. If there is no improvement under the influence of BACILLINUM 1M in next 2-3 days, please give her 5 doses of Calc Carb 200 at a gap of 12 hours.

Please report back after 10 days.

thanks so much for ur remedies.
She is much better with calc carb 200

occasioanlly she has coughed and there still seems to be some phlegm but much better than before

however now there seems to be what i think is an after effect of the illness which went on for over a month

she is not walking as she used to at all. also whatever words she used to speak like mamma papa ball etc
she only babbles gibberish now

as she has turned 1 already kids her age seem to be walking and also talking.
please advise as i have read on this forum that there are infact homeopathic remedies for such issues

So she isn't much better at all, she is worse. She has regressed in behaviour. This needs to be addressed - the use of antibiotics has likely suppressed the acute illness. According to the direction of cure she is much worse off than before because talking, walking, general development, is a much more important level than the respiration.

Unfortuantely, it is not unusual to see antibiotic suppression cause such troubles for children.

There is no need to continue with any remedy without it's indication. You should give her three doses of Calc Carb 200 at a gap of 12 hours whenever there is a significant relapse in her symptoms.

You need to understand that some signs are bound to be there if one is sick over a period of one month.

Each of us have inherent strengths and weakness and we should not always compare our kid with other kids.

You should also understand the limitations of homeopathy. A person can't become mayor of Mumbai or MD of Reliance by taking homeopathic remedy from the best homeopath in the world.

So please take right decisions for your kid at the right time instead of getting too much sentimental.

My understanding from what was said was that the patient has REGRESSED - it is not just a comparison to other children, but to her own previous development.

'She is not walking as she used to at all'

Her development has regressed so this is a worsening of her general state. It is not a mother being sentimental.

It is also a very common observation of reactions to orthodox drug treatments on children. Dr. Tinus Smits did a lot of work with children who showed regression and arrested development after antibiotics and vaccinations.

His book on his CEASE therapy gives many cases where children stopped developing or lost some of their abilities after various orthodox drug treatments -even drugs like nasal sprays can do it when used frequently.

Keep an eye on your child's development and if there is no improvement in a few weeks something will need to be done about it. Sometimes the children can recover on their own, and sometimes they need help. Further orthodox treatment may create more problems for her so be very cautious.

While I fully agree with the opinion of Dr.kampson, at the same time I feel that the vitality gets retarded but it is a very temporary situation & I feel child need not be given any medicine right now & she will recover all by herself very soon.It is nothing to worry about but to keep cool & patience.

currently she is not on any medication at all except the vitamins- kiddicare prescribed by her pediatrician

her cough and cold have both gone. apetite is back to some extent however she is still not walking

will keep everyone posted on progress.

one question for whoever can answer is alfalfa homeopathic tonic recomended for 1 year olds?

Alfalfa tonic will not do any harm but it is also not required for her. Let her get well with good nourishment & lot of love but without over concern & protection.
