Fibromyalgia

From odiecian [Log on to view profile]on 2011-02-19

Please advise a remedy for fibromyalgia.
It all started almost a year ago when my baby was 8wks old (born by c-section, not an emergency).
Started with an aura (blurred vision) and a headache for a few days.
Since then i had extreme exhaustion/fatigue.
Constant head pressure and woozy feel in the head, going to the front of my head, to just above my eyebrows.
Just before xmas my neck got really sore at the back and then my back, sometimes my arms and my legs can be weak.
Had MRI of brain and neck which were clear.
I had whiplash 7 years ago incase this makes any difference.
I feel low at times but try to keep going and am still working.
I don't notice heat/cold making it worse or better.
I sleep fairly well but i take lemonbalm to help. May wake once most nights.
Never feel refreshed in the morning.
I find i'm better when mobile - regarding the pain.
I had swine flu vaccination in Dec 2009 because i was pregnant and i worry this has something to do with it.
Thanks

I am 33
Female
married
10 stone 5pounds weight
5foot 5inch approx
Ireland
Wet/mostly cold climate but the weather doesnt seem to affect me although i do find i sometimes feel flushes of heat mostly on my back or face. I like fresh air and natural light, not that bright lights bother me.
Complaints: fatigue
tightness in the head, up the back of my head and out to my forehead since March 2010.Tightness/soreness in the back of my neck and shoulders and can extend down my back, mainly after a days work - symptoms since xmas 2010.
My lower back can get quite sore. Sometimes when i'm at my worse i get a flulike achy feeling all over, down my legs etc but this doesnt happen very often - on&off since March 2010.
Irratible bowel - not too bad but can have flatulence especially in the evening. I don't have constipation or diarhea.
I get thrush on and off since my problem started in March 2010.
I'm currently having acupuncture which helps alot and its likely it has prevented it progressing.
I take spirulina for energy/health proberties so therefore stool has a dark colour but was normal before i took the spirulina.
Urine is normal, not too dark and not too light.

I crave sugars/salt.
I am not diabetic.
I am not overly thirsty i don't think but i try to drink plenty water during the day.

family history: Nothing like this in my family. No diabetes. Some history of cancer - 2 uncles(prostate and lung) and a cousin had ovarian cancer. No heart problems.

Taste: i love my food, don't like spicy foods but like veg/fruit/meat/potatoes etc.

I don't notice any food in particular making my symptoms worse. I do try to avoid too much sweet foods and too much wheat but i'm not sure it these help.

My bp is always normal when my GP checks, it was fine all through pregnancy and my pregnancy was normal all through. Ended up having a section because my baby's head was tilted. I did have epidural and during the section i was absolutely freezing cold.My hands were hopping with the cold and my teeth chattering. I didnt get anything for shock but as it wasnt an emergency section i didnt think i was in shock and still dont know if i was or if it was the epidural that caused the cold.
I didnt have any situation that affected me when this all happened. As i said my pregnancy went fine.
I was always a tired person, never full of energy and my sister can be the same but not to the same extreme as ive been feeling since March 2010.

I feel fedup with it all but i'm working as a clerical officer 4 days a week. I want to keep working as it keeps me focused.
I'm not depressed, just fedup of it all but i keep positive as much as possible.

it's affecting all my life.I have no social life. I work and look after my family and am mostly too tired/sore to do much at the wkends.

I do find i'm at my best in the evenings. My head tightness doesnt go away but i'm not as sore.
Ive been to alternative practicioners in the past and on 1 occassion i had a type of energy scan done(cant think of the name) but my pineal gland kept showing up as being a problem.

Qualifications - leaving cert.Went to catering college and worked in hotels for 3 years. Now i work in the hospital as clerical officer.

To sum up how i feel: I feel like this condition is holding me back. I should have been able to enjoy my maternity leave and be able to enjoy my baby's 1st year instead of feeling so tired. The worst part is the tightness in the back of my head and neck.

To odiecian

Hi,

I was going through the forum, when the word "Fibromyalgia"
caught my attention, as i am also having almost same problem
of
*fatigue and tiredness all the time, and
*feeling of pulled nerves or muscles from my forehead to back.

I have one suggestion (though its up to you)

*why not go for your Thyroid function test.

I have been doing some research and one logical reason behind
such problem seems malfunctioning of thyroid glands. Doctors
usually miss that point and go for other many many tests.

Best Regards

Hannah

Hannah,
Thanks for the suggestion. I have had lots of blood tests done with my GP and she checked my thryoid function and it was normal. Another brick wall!!
Good luck

I'm really sorry to bother you again. It says on the box of Thuja that a dose is 2 pills. Do i take 6 at one time or is it 3 at one time or spread out.
I promise i won't be back until 3 days!

Re: FibromyalgiaFrom odiecian [Log on to view profile] on 2011-02-27
I took the Thuja 30c, i took 2pellets 3 times a day for 1 day. I haven't noticed any change. My head (from the back right out to my forhead) and neck are really tight today and yesterday which makes me feel a bit woozey. Ive also had muscle spams/twitches the last 2 nights while in bed which have kept me awake. Where to go from here!

Re: FibromyalgiaFrom mani_jee [Log on to view profile] on 2011-02-28

Re: FibromyalgiaFrom odiecian [Log on to view profile] on 2011-02-28
It's 6 days since i took thuja. The tightness/pressure at the back of my head/neck and out towards my forehead is quite bad and my head is woozey, hard to focus at times. I'm finding it hard to sleep because i got muscle spasms Saturday and sunday night, in my right thigh and my finger mainly. I was very tired again on Sunday also. HOpe this answers your question. Thank you.

Re: FibromyalgiaFrom odiecian [Log on to view profile] on 2011-03-15
update:
I have taken the conium 200c and have been taking the kali phos since Saturday but i havent had any improvement. I took the conium on Friday. I started feeling really tired on the Thursday before i took the conium and am so exhausted since Thursday. I wake in the morning feeling like i havent been to sleep and am like that all day then. My head has been extremely bad aswell. Does this mean homeopathy isn't working for me or are there any other options? Is it possible the sugar in the homeopathy remedies can make fibromyalgia worse. Thanks for taking the time to help

Re: FibromyalgiaFrom mani_jee [Log on to view profile] on 2011-03-15
