skin problem

hey..

i hv a friend..he is an enginner and has recently this new problem on his finger (index) it has a white layer of somthing forming, but there is no swelling or bump..with time his skin on the finger has startd to form cuts and u can c blood in them..the blood doesnt flow out but u can c it..at times it pains or itches...any remedy?

another problem..lately i got to knw he is getting addicted to manikchand (tobbaco) any remedy to get rid of the addiction..?

and i dnt think the finger prob relates to the manikchand addiction..as the finger probs is there from a few months..
