5 yr old perfectionist/anxiety

We always thought he was just a needy child but since turning 5 and entering kindergarten his tendency toward perfectionism is causing him to freeze up. He is beginning to not do schoolwork, draw pictures or perform simple karate moves in his class for fear of making a mistake. (A 'big huge mistake' in his words')This explains much about his past behavior with his frustration over certain things being perfect as well as his non-participation in some things when he was in pre-school (age 3-5). He's not OCD but he will get very upset if, as an example, he can't write his name perfectly or draw something perfectly. He has 2 habits: picking his nose till it bleeds and licking not just his lips but the whole area around his mouth until it's sore. Like I mentioned we just thought he was needy (he was born 2 mos premature without complications but he did need to stay in the hospital for 1 mo before coming home.)
It's only been recently that we've noticed it interferring and we worry is it will get worse. I'm looking for a child psychologist to help give him/us ideas. About us, his parents, we've always been very as encouraging and nuturing as possible having come from dysfuntional families/parents ourselves and looking to end the cycle. We are very cognizant and take parenting very seriously. We aren't critical but may have attempted to 'help' to much -? and we have thought that we may have spoiled him a little too much because he is A) 1st born B)a child it took us 8 yrs to conceive C)preemie
I, his mother, am a perfectionist with anxiety/depression/anger issues as well and have been in therapy for several years and on medication which help tremendously. I've tried hard not to be an example but we are who we are. We do not want him on any medication at all and do not agree with this practice. So I'm looking to homeopathy.
He's very bright and very sensative. He doesn't have any fears really (no bad dreams or phobias) but is very shy & timid. He does however need to know where we are in the house at all times and will continually call out to see where we are. If he can't find us he gets very upset and starts crying. In the past he would cry if I left the room. He is prone to frustration. I feel that his perfectionism is tied to the sense of being 'good' (we have always stressed that behavior is good or bad, not the individual)He is happy for the most part until put on the spot with a task. He has always loved salty food ex. olives (and of course sweets which are limited) He eats healthy well balanced meals that are organic and un-processed 80% of time with a concentration on veggies (especially greens) He eats food that other children of his age would refuse. Hates anything spicy. Is prone to being cold during the day and insists on wearing long pants (sometimes long sleeve shirts) even during the summer. His cheeks flush easily when he does start to get hot. He sleeps in nothing but his underwear because he gets hot at night. Has post-nasal drip. Does anyone have any ideas for remedies? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him Arsenicum Album 200c thrice a day for only one day (not daily) and see how that affects him in the next 15 days.

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 1 drop in some 10 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 15 minutes before or after taking medicine.
