Cure for Bronchiectasis

Hi

I have been diagnosed of having bronchiectasis in the right middle and lower lobes of the right lung.

Please let me know the cure for this condition.

I have been taking ayurvedic medication from the past one year with great relief but I still would like to if there is a permanent cure for this condition.

Hello Doctor

Thank you very much for your reply.

The symptoms are as described below:

1. Frequent lower respiratory infections requiring antibiotics like Azithromycin, Gemifloxacin, Ciprofloxacin.

2. Susceptibility to infections very frequently like after getting drenched in a rain etc.

3. In 2005 March-April time I had developed a condition called as broncho pnuemonia.

3. Chest congestion with thick yellowish pleghm.

4. After sometime I used to get blood stained phlegm (haemoptsis). After a period of 4 weeks the blood spat out was alarming and I got admitted into a hospital for biopsy of the lungs and further investigations. The test results of the tissue culture indicated the presence of Klebsella Pneumonie bacteria.

5. After a heavy course of antibiotics the infection reduced and I was discharged from the hosptial.

6. I started the ayurvedic medication which has given me a greater relief viz. I fall sick very rarely. My infections dont last long and I am not taking any antibiotics also. The problem is stil the pleghm keeps coming but I am fit and fine.

Kindly suggest the best remedy in homeopathy to have a permanent cure for this one.

Please let me know if you need further info

Since you are using Ayurvedic medicines and they have helped you, I would suggest that you continue to do so.

Your main concern is the phlegm that you are expelling from your lungs and the best manner to help you to do so is to use Physiotherapy in the following manner:

Lie face down in your bed with your head over the side. You will have to lie directly across your bed at a right angle. You will have to lift your chest to be above the level of your head and this is done by placing 2 or 3 pillows under your chest as you lie face down.

You will get someone to tap the back of your chest reasonably hard without causing any discomfort and you will soon discover that you will be bringing up the phlegm which is being displaced by the tapping.

Before you get into position you will do about 5 minutes of inhalation of steam. You can get the steam from an electric kettle or jug with the lid open to enable the water to keep on boiling. This steam will soften the phlegm which is congealed in your lungs and will come out during the physiotherapy.

Please report progress.

My daughter (8 years) is facing with bronchietcasis since last 2 years. She was attacked with psudomas virus. Then after she lost weight about 4 kgs. She accommolates the sputam around afround after one month she faces the fever. It lasts for 1 or 2 hours as coughs up / withdraws the sputam, the fever goes down. Her height is ok but she is not gaining the weight. We are giving the steam daily and tapping the chest for taking out the sputam. And also we have given hoeopathic treatment to her for one year without any much difference / great results. After born, she regulerly faced the frequesnt virus attack once in /twice in a month. after one year the frequency goes down to 2 t0 4 times in ayear. after completing the six she started this symptoms coughing up the symptoms. please advise.

Hi ,
I’ve had chronic cough for long time, and then from the end of 2014, I started expelling phlegm. Then in May 2015, I started coughing blood.
This continued for a week. When I went to see the doctor, he prescribed me a 10-day antibiotic course and referred to pulmonologist.
The pulmonologist performed a bronchoscopy and found E. Coli cultures, while also diagnosing me with bronchiectasis and COPD. He put me on another round of antibiotics for 5 weeks (the course ended in the third week of July). After this course, the blood in phlegm disappeared but the coughing and expelling of thick yellow phlegm continued.
However, starting in the last week of September, I again found myself expelling phlegm covered with blood. I went to my family doctor and he put me on another 10-day course of antibiotics. Blood disappeared. Pulmonologist during the first week of October put me on a 21-day anti-fungal regime, which I am currently taking. But sgain blood in phlegm started from Oct. 10th and pulmonologist has put me on two anti-bio for two weeks(Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole). I am also on two puffers(Spiriva and Advair) which I have to take regularly.
The findings from the CT are:
1. Progressive moderate bronchiectatic change in both lungs involving all lobes.
There is associated volume loss in the right middle lobe which is long-standing. Several stable post infectious/inflammatory pleural and subpleural densities are seen bilaterally. There is also progressive endobronchial opacification with mucus plugging in the lower lobes. There is also stable fibrosis and scaring in both lungs.
2. Moderate amount of new patchy groundglass opacification in the left hemithorax which is likely postinfectious/inflammatory.
3. New subpleural density in the right lower lobe which is also likely postinfectious/inflammatory but should be monitored.
As you all know, this illness can be so debilitating on your quality of life and I would love to try alternate therapies to get rid of recurring infection. Which therapy is more effective-Ayurveda or Homeopathy? After research I have come across quite few cases treated by Ayurveda successfully. I would appreciate if anyone can provide me with a name and contact info for dependable therapist.

Regards
