yeast diaper rash on 9.5 month old baby girl

My daughter has had her current yeast infection for five days. She had a previous yeast infection that ended (or so I thought) about five days beforehand. The first infection lasted for about two weeks and was treated conventionally with Nystatin.

She is still on breastmilk and also eats solids. Her favorite food is avocado. She has never really been a good sleeper (she only slept through the night once), but she only wakes to eat and then promptly falls to sleep, again.

She also has eczema I was recommended to give her two tablets, three times daily of Hyland's sulfer tablets. I stopped with the sulfer as soon as I saw that she had a bad rash on her vulva (to be diagnosed as a yeast diaper rash).

For the past couple of days, I have changed her diapers every hour, or sooner, if wet. The rash seems to get better when I let her air out. I try and leave her pants off as often as possible. I use 7th generation diapers (disposable and does not have clorine). I stopped using any baby wipes and only use organic cotton and water to wipe her. Her baths either have oatmeal or baking soda in them. I tried to use virgin coconut oil on her rash, because of its antibacterial properties, but it didn't seem to help. She has been on probiotics for about two months (I started her on Lactobacillus GG to cure her eczema, and her eczema is still around).

She is a very happy baby, and always used to wake up smiling. Now there are times when she wakes up very sad, but feels better when breastfed. She is very observant and doesn't like loud noises. I work full time. Her grandmother watches her during the day.

Please help.

**For how many days you have given her 2 pills of Sulphur thrice a day?

I forgot to mention the list of solid foods we have introduced into her diet: squash, sweet potato, green beans, applesauce, peaches, pears, nectarines, plums, carrots, brown rice cereal, and oatmeal cereal. She has had the broth of chicken soup twice and she tried a teaspoon of yogurt for the first time, today.

Hello Kadwa,
I believe she was taking sulfer for three weeks. I was told to give her the sulfer until the symptoms were gone.

Did the rash appear first time only when she started taking Sulphur.
How did her eczema respond to Sulphur. How is her eczema now.
It has been how many days that Sulphur has been stopped.
Please describe the rash in more detail, it's appearance, whether there is lot of itching, whether there is pain.

The rash appeared a while after she started taking Sulphur. I don't think the rash is painful, but it does itch.
The Sulphur didn't help the eczema and she even got new patches while taking the Sulphur. We went to see a dermotologist and he recommended a cream called Cerave, and the cream seems to help the dryness. I think it's been at least 25 days (if not more) since we stopped the sulfphur.

For the past couple of days, when she wakes in the morning, her rash looks very light red. As the day progresses the redness gets very dark. There are small little pimples in the red area and the surrounding area. I have been trying to figure out what makes the condition worsen through the day, and I now think that it gets worse because we sometimes hold her under her crotch area and the constant pressure of the diaper against her vulva worsens the rash.
It looks like her rash is getting a little better every day. Is there anything she can take that would help her body get balanced, again?

Please give her three doses of Pulsatilla 30c at a gap of 4 hours for only one day (not daily) and report back after 10 days.
Puls is expected to help her overall and it should also affect the rash.
One dose means 2 pills.

Thank you so very much, Kadwa.
I'm sorry, but I forgot to mention that we have given her Hyland's Teething Tablets every so often. The last time I gave it to her was yesterday at around 10:00 AM. She took one dose (three pills). Should I wait before I start the Pulsatilla? Also, you recommended the remedy for one day, is that 24 hours or just 12?
Thank you.

Hyland's Teething Tablets:
Active Ingredients: Calcarea Phosphorica (Calcium Phosphate) 3X HPUS, Chamomilla (Chamomile) 3X HPUS, Coffea Cruda (Coffee) 3X HPUS, Belladonna 3X HPUS (Alkaloids 0.0003%).
Inactive Ingredients: Lactose N.F.

Oops, sorry, I see you wrote explicit directions for the dosage. I'm a little sleep deprived. I will wait for your answer on the teething pills.

i think that puls is the remedy of your daughter on the basis of her mentals and thermal preference. Puls also antidotes Sulphur, this is also necessary looking at the sulphur doses she had.
Now the combo remedy that you are giving her contains chamomilla and Coffee. These two remedies antidote Puls. Chamolilla is the remedy of children with irritable disposition. These combo remedies contain remedies in low potency so they don't act at the mental plane. In my opinion there is no point in giving chamomilla regualrly to a child who doesn't have an irritable disposition.
i suggest that you should stop the combo remedy. You should give her 1 pellet each of the tissue salts calc phos 3x and ferrum phos 3x thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours whenever needed to help her teething problems. You should give her Puls atleast 4-5 days after stopping the combo remedy.

So you should...
1. Stop the combo remedy.
2. Give her 1 pellet each of 1 pellet each of the tissue salts calc phos 6x and ferrum phos 6x thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours whenever needed to help her teething problems.
3. Give her three doses of Puls at a gap of 4 hours for only one day 5 days after stopping the combo remedy.

There is a mistake in the above post. The tissue salts should be given in 3x potency not 6x.

This is the corrected one....

Aloe Vera is safe to use and can offer some relief from diaper rash. It's antibacterial, antifungal, and a natural remedy for eczema- definitely worth a try. To make your own Aloe baby wipes (itÂ’s easy, not to mention cheap) check out aloeplant.info
