Poisoned by Levaquin | From poisoned [Log on to view profile] | on 2010-02-08 |

| Hello - I am writing because I am experiencing toxicity side effects from the antibiotic levaquin (some people refer to this as being "floxed"). I read a previous post from Aug. 2009 and I have many of the symptoms that the other person wrote about. I tried a 5 day water fast to cleanse this out and the symptoms are worse than they were before the fast. It's been a month since I took Levaquin and things are getting worse. I have tingling and numbness all over my body (including my head), terrible anxiety attacks follwed by violent nightmares about being robbed, my children being posioned, etc. and insomnia every night. I also have pain in my joints - especially my knees and fingers. I am very fatigued and weak and am constantly in a brain fog. It's scary because I don't know how to get rid of this poison. I've read it can get progressively worse and be debilitating. I am concerned about trying homeopathy because I've proven almost every remedy I've ever tried (and had worse symptoms after), but I am desperate to find help for this. I am really scared because I can feel the poison in my brain and there's no way to get it out. I really appreciate your help and hope for guidance soon. |

You may take a single dose of Nux Vomica 200c.

One more question...a friend of mine just recommended Avena sativa - would that be better for the numbness, tingling and insomnia and nerve problems I'm having? She said it can also detox drugs. Now I'm confused...Thanks for your help.

Don't get confused. Please take a single dose of Nux Vomica 200c and from next day onward take Avena Sativa Q. There won't be any conflict between these two remedies. | This thread continues beneath the following ad.

HOMŒOPATHIC MATERIA MEDICA
by William BOERICKE, M.D.
Presented by Médi-T
AVENA SATIVA
Common Oat
Has a selective action on brain and nervous system, favorably influencing their nutritive function.
Nervous exhaustion, sexual debility, and the morphine habit call for this remedy in rather material dosage. Best tonic for debility after exhausting diseases. Nerve tremors of the aged; chorea, paralysis agitans, epilepsy. Post-diphtheritic paralysis. Rheumatism of heart. Colds. Acute coryza (20 drop doses in hot water hourly for a few doses). Alcoholism. Sleeplessness, especially of alcoholics. Bad effects of Morphine habit. Nervous states of many female troubles.
Mind.--Inability to keep mind on any one subject.
Head.--Nervous headache at menstrual period, with burning at top of head. Occipital headache, with phosphatic urine.
Female.--Amenorrhœa and dysmenorrhœa, with weak circulation.
Male.--Spermatorrhœa; impotency; after too much indulgence.
Extremities.--Numbness of limbs, as if paralyzed. Strength of hand diminished.
Relationship.--Compare: Alfalfa (General tonic similar to avena-also in scanty and suppressed urine).
Dose.--Tincture ten to twenty drop doses, preferably in hot water.

Thank you for your help - I was not able to get Nux Vomica 200C, but I did take 30C. No difference in my symptoms: pins & needles feelings all over my body (including right side of head), insomnia (was only able to sleep one hour last night and had terrible nightmares about being robbed and my child was posioned), pain in my joints, especially my knee and knuckles, extreme fatigue and general feeling of "being in a fog" - can't concentrate or think straight. Based on these symptoms, what do you recommend? They were caused by taking the antibiotic Levaquin, but it's been a month since I took the drug. Please help and many thanks!

Please take AVENA SATIVA for 7-10 days. Let Nux work internally. See what happens after 7-10 days.

Thanks again - sorry for so many questions, but do I put the drops into a cup with water and then drink it all at once?

**Yes. Please sip slowly. Don't gulp in one go.
If there is no relief after 10 days please come with full details.
Please copy the Questionnaire from the following thread
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/188925/
and post all the questions here duly answered. On that basis your remedy may be worked out. Please do this after 10 days if required.
