Wrist Pain

Hello,

I have wrist pain just below the thumb.

4 days ago when I got up from the bed it started. Tried to massage the joint and the bone for 2/3 days, the pain still persists.

Even if I have to move the thumb the pain starts in the wrist joint and the bone.

Pls advise what is the med I need to take. By the way in India, SBL has a product which is called pomode. It has ointments like Rhus Tox, Ruta etc.(which I believe are for joint pains etc)

Can I apply them externally while taking any meds internally.

Thx in advance.

B Wishes

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Don't take any combination drugs, ointments etc.

I already suggested to you Rhustox 30, in your other thread.

Hi,

I have started taking Rhus Tox 30C from 11th itself.

As of now the pain has not subsided. I am not able to sleep as any movement or pressure increases the pain. When I pull the thumb the pain is severe.

Do I still continue with the meds.

Did you get hurt, before the pain started?

Get an x-ray, and report.

bandarbabu2000 last decade
No I did not get hurt. In fact I got off the bed in the morning and there was pain. Most probably I would have slept in and awkwardly position. Slight swelling is there. If there is a fracture there should be a severe swelling isnt it.

It is the joint bone below the thumb and on the wrist. If I press any side of the bone it pains.

O.K.

If you are sure it is not due to injury, keep taking Rhustox for 3 more days, and report.

Hello,

The pain has not subsided. It is more than a week of taking Rhus Tox 30C.

Yesterday I went to a doctor, he said that it is a swelling of the wrist or a ligment which would have turned or twisted. He prescribed Tab Simultin (contains ibrufren). He checked both my wrists.

Yesterday applied hot water bag and a bit of massage. No use. Today (17.03.05) have applied crepe bandage to the wrist.

Pls advise.

try ruta grav 30c

erika last decade
From my experience, Rhus Tox is a good remedy, but since it isn't working for you, I agree with Erika who said to try Ruta Grav 30c. If that doesn't work, you may want to try Hypericum 30c (this worked wonders for me). Since it seems the pain in my wrist had something to do with the nerves, I tried Hypericum and the next day, the pain was gone! I checked this in one of my books. Good luck - I hope you can find something to give you relief.

How old are you?

Hi,

I am 47 years old. for couple of days I have tried first Rhus Tox (5 days - 30C-2 doses) nothing materialized. Tried Ruta G 30C for 4 days. Still the pain has not subsided. Minute swelling is there on the wrist. When I move my right thumb, a click is heard. The pain is from below the right thumb to the wrist. On moving the thumb or applying pressure on the thumb and the wrist joint, pain shoots up. otherwise the pain is still present. I am able to drive and lift things up.

Pls advise. or do I go for the med Tab Simuttin (10 days 1-0-1) as prescribed by the doc. Its almost 15 days and the pain has not subsided.

Thanks a lot in advance.

it is a good idea to try hypericum as courageous suggested, as the pain shooting down could very likely be nerve type pain.

Hi,

Pains are centred around the thumb joint and goes down till the wrist joint bone. When u move the thumb something getting stuck at the joint of the thumb.

it seems from re-reading your notes that pressure may not be helping your pain - is it hot and red at all? try , when you are at rest - if you have not already - to see whether it is helped by either ice packs or 'warm' packs on the joint and painful area. You could also massage your foot in the same area on that side of the body (i.e. big toe and under) instead of massaging the hand - this may help. If this area is tender on your foot then massage only gently and for a short while each time.
if hypericum does not help then - or, before you take it - please post back explaining what you may have done in the days before this started? was there an injury? was there extra use of your hand? did you play a lot of computer games or write a lot? did your hand get cold or was it held in one position for a long time?? anything you can think of would help us help you...

Hi,

I have started taking the meds Hypericum 30C from yesterday night (22/03). Today morning was second dose. As of now no relief.

I woke off from the bed and I felt the pain. In the sleep I did not feel the pain. The night before I went to bed there was no pain.

If u compare with the left hand there is a slight swelling in the inside part of the right hand. when u apply pressure on thejoint the pain is a bit more. Also when u try to pull the right thumb on the right hand the pain is severe on the wrist. otherwise the pain is there and I can lift things, drive the vehicle etc.

when u move the thumb the pain is severe and there is crackling or like the joint slipping on the thumb joint and the pain is felt on the wrist.

I had applied hot water bag, no relief, massage also does not give any relief

I have not tried to apply cold to the effected part,

The pain is from the right thumb joint to the wrist. It is almost 2 weeks. tried Rhus Tox, Ruta and now only 2 doses of Hypericum 30C.

Pls advise.

Thanks a lot.

Bye.. Mathew

Before you give you on homeopathy, read my post on Silica carefully from the begining.

pls let us know if you did anything during the days before the pain started that may have caused an injury - even overuse of the thumb, lifting heavy objects etc., playing bowls???. If you definitely cannot think of anything then pls tell whether you slept heavily on this hand or even whether you have been in very cold/very hot surroundings the day or night before this started.
have you had this pain before ever??

Kuldeep is perhaps suspecting arthritis, which is very likely.
Use silicia as directed by Kuldeep.

It may help with your other problems also.

As suggested by Kuldeep, read the above thread from the beginning.

Hi,

Just a doubt. Wud arthritis just happen only on the right thumb and the wrist. Does it not affect the other limbs.

This happened all of a sudden. Just after sleep. I have the habit of sleeping facing the bed (back to the ceiling) and my hand goes on the pillow and my face rests on the hand or the hand would be below the chest area.

Curious to know. Does arthritis starts with a severe pain.

I'll read Mr Kuldeeps posting and in the meantime I would get clarification for this posting.

Hi Mr Kuldeep/Mr Murthy,

Just gone thro the post advised by Mr Kuldeep. No probs. I can make the silica. However getting from a river would be a problem.

Can make by pounding the rock if its OK or pls suggest potency of homeo meds to be purchased.

I'll await your confirmation.

Thx a lot

arthritis can be very painful when it starts and it usually starts in one joint with inflammation/pain etc. try the silica and see if this improves your pain as it is a very good remedy for this.

Hello,

Any particular potency/dose or do I follow Kuldeeps method of silica. Very difficult to get silica now. With summer the river is dry and the sight of all the junk in the river makes u puke.

Do I follow the silica rock preparation - I thought that was for acne.

Now with all the meds in the body, - Rhus Tox, Ruta, Hypericum have been getting a headache for the past 3 days. Today 25/03 (20.55PM) had to take a paracetemol tab for the headache. Have stopped all the meds. Waiting to settle down.

Pls advise.

Thx a lot

the info is on acne, but silica is used for many other complaints with skin, bone, all cells. Silica is in every living cell.
I have not used silica often in low potency, so cannot advise on how often to take if you take an x potency. If you take a c potency, whether 6c or 30c do not repeat dosage too often as it is very deep acting - you will soon know if it helps.
Is your headache perhaps from reading all these suggestions ??:):)??

Home made Silica works best in musculo-skelton problems. Rock Silica is the best. Actually so many people emailed me that their arthritis is better by rock Silica.
