The ABC Homeopathy Forum

5.5 year old still bedwetting heavily at night - can anyone help?

My 5 and a half year old daughter has never been dry at night and I am wondering whether this is something that can be helped with homeopathy? She is very wet and often changes her pull up as she has soaked through. Have tried lifting her before we go to bed (doesn't seem to make much difference)and sometimes she has already wet her pull ups by 9pm. She was day trained at 2 and a half.

During the day when she needs to wee, it is often quite urgent. If there is anything we can do to help this it would be great.

Happy to post further details about her if needed.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please provide these additional information:

- does she have griding teeth at times? In addition, any clear history of worms?

- does she pee more frequently in the day or only at night she is.

- she prefers generally a warm or cold surrounding. With a 5 year old, it hard to be sure. Please give your confidence level of your response too.

Hi Reva V and thanks for your quick reply.

No history of worms that I have been aware of. My husband says she did used to grind her teeth. She also sucks her fingers - not sure if that is relevant and often snores and breathes heavily. My husband wet the bed also when he was a young boy. She also makes a lot of ear wax and I have to have her ears cleared out every 6 weeks. I was told by a homeopath when she was around 18 months that the cells in her body were over active and needed calming down as she had skin problems too.

She does wee more frequently during the day and loves the warm weather as she can get outside and play. I would also say that based on the excessive coughing and mucus she is prone to during the winter months, the warm weather agrees with her more. She is a very physical and tactile girl and has always been extremely active.

I am confident with my responses to your questions.

Hope this is helpful.
Many thanks in advance.

Please give SILICEA 30c, 2 pills, before going to bed, every 4th day (not daily) as a remedy to improve the general health (help stand cold)

Give the wet dose of BELLIS PER 30c, every evening, except the days when you give SILICEA 30c. This will help to improve the health of all pelvic organs, both helping for improving digestion and hence no worms and the bladder health (similarity: Siddha, the ancient medical system in India, followed for over 1000 years, give Pomegranate Leaf to improve the health of all Pelvic Organs, as part of thier anti-aging protocol)

Please do this for 2 weeks and report back. If you see any dry days in the night, please keep a log and report.

You are likely to need Podophyllum 6c and Equisetum Hyemale 12x for follow up

Preparing Wetdose:
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water (Spring Water or purified water - not mineral water).
Pour out about 1 inch of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake it hard to produce bubbles. This is homeopathic succussion and must be done 'every time before taking' a capful of this water from the bottle.
Do not store the bottle in Refridgerator (Fridge) and dont store in a open sun light or where there is too much light. It is prefered to place in the dark place (may be put a paper cover to the bottle)

You need to buy BELLIS PER 30c in liquid dilution, instead of Pellets.

If you already have Silicea, you can start without waiting for Bellis to reach you.

Thank you Reva for your response. I was actually thinking of posting another topic about my daughter's general behaviour as there are many aspects of her personality which need 'calming down'. There is a lot of information about her behaviour which I have not indicated here, should I post under this topic? I am wondering whether it will affect the remedies which you are prescribing. I would appreciate your feedback.

Also how long will the wet dose remedy last for in the bottle - should I renew it frequently with more drops from the remedy?

Thank you and I look forward to your reply.

Hi Kirsty,

I would recommend to go with this medicine first for a few weeks and get some improvement started with bed wetting.

You can continue on this same post afterwards. I will need the temperature of her body taken before I prescribe her for behavioral issues. This will help to steer the treatment based on her her metabolism, energy level and elimination power:

How to Measure Temperature:
===========================
- Buy a Professional accuracy Digital Thermometer. Avoid buying FAST READ thermometers. (It cost under $10 in US to buy Vicks brand, high quality thermometer)
- Before you wake up from bed, in the morning, hold the thermometer under the arm for 2 full minutes (to heat the sensor). Make sure the sensor tip is touching your body, not just the hairs there). After 2 or 3 minutes, turn on the thermometer and wait for it to report the final reading. (usually it beeps)
- Repeat the above step once or even twice, immediately on the same time, to make sure the reading is consistent.
- Note down the temperature in a note book

Wetdose:
After the water is used, buy a new bottle and follow the same process again
