Pigment Dispersion Syndrome both eyes.

I am 26 yr old male working in computer field.

In jan-2010, during regular check up I was diagnosed with Pigment dispersion syndrome in both eyes. Hence was put on medication to control the swelling inside the eyes which was first thought of uveitis.

When I first went to doc the pressure in both eyes was 21. After giving some steroids and during treatment it came back to normal range of 14-16.

Then I was put on normal refresh tears to avoid dryness in the eyes since I work on computers most of the day.

Then in April-2010 I had severe attach of viral conjunctivitis which lasted close to 3 weeks. During this time again I was on allopathy. The eye pressure remain normal within the range of 14-16.

Doctor mentioned that because of this I have developed corneal opacities in the eyes which will take months or years to heal.

I was recommended eye drops by SBL homeo to cure corneal opacities with this composition
1. Cineraria maritima – 1.5% w/w
2. Euphrasia – 1.0%
3. Calendula officinalis - .25%
4. Kali mariaticum – 10x - .25%
5. Calcarea flurica – 10x - .25%
6. Magnesia carbonica – 10x - .25%
7. Silicia – 10x- .25%
8. Boric acid – 1.00%

I am putting 1 drop every day 3-4 times a day. After close to 3-4 months I went to doctor again in Sept-2010 and doc was surprised that I have almost nil corneal opacities in my left eye and few were left in right eye. It was a good indication that this medicine suited me well. I am continuing to put this as I feel after putting these drops my eyes feel relaxed and vision more clearer. Also during the check up eye pressure was well in range of 14-16.

I wanted to know is it safe to continue this medicine with composition mentioned above for longer duration?? I have no reservations continuing all my life if it helps keep my myopia under control and vision clear. Also I read maritima helps cure cataract also.

One of the reasons which can aggravate the problem of Pigment dispersion syndrome is high myopia. Since I am myopic with power of close to -5 in both eyes, I want to reduce my eye power.

As of now I am having 3 medicines as mentioned below:
1. Eye drops mentioned above – 3-4 times 1 drop daily
2. Ruta – 30 potency – 2 times – 3 drops in water taken orally
3. Physostigma – 3x potency – 2 times – 3 drops in water taken orally

I am told Ruta will help relaxing my eyes because of computer strain. Physo I have read will help reduce the eye power. Also phsyo will regulate my eye pressure keeping in limits to avoid any damage to optic nerve due to pigments in the eye which may block the drainage and cause pressure rise.
I want to know am I taking the right medicines.

In my opinion Ruta 30c may be taken every 3 days or seven days. There doesn't seem to be any harm even if you take it daily. But even if you take it every week it should work internally for 7 days.

Also looking at your totality of symptoms it seems to me that Natrum Mur is your constitutional remedy.

You may take three doses of Natrum Mur 200c at a gap of 4 hours for only one day (not daily) and see how it affects you in the next 15 days.

Please don't take Ruta 30 on the day you take Natrum Mur. You may take other remedies on that day which you are taking daily.
