| I am disabled in wheel chair and it is very difficult for me to visit a homeopath as most are far from where I live. For the last seven months I am having stomach pain after each meal and urge to pass stool. It is forcing and very difficult for me to contain it. No matter what I eat, it is always pain after and passing stool. I frequently take anti diorrheal medications. Can any one please advise me what homeopathic medicine will work for me. Thanks so very much. |

We would really like more symptoms and what kind of person you are. Your likes and dislikes. What put you in the wheelchair, and to what extent. These things are important for us to give best suggestions for you.
At this time I would suggest you get some Hydrocloric Acid, in capsules from the health store. This is what the stomach makes to digest food and your stomach may be out of balance and not making it now. Take two with each meal and you should know within 48 hours. DO NOT take stuff like tums as the HCA will make this not necessary.
Please get some homeopathic CARBO VEG 200X or 2C from ABC and they will mail it to you.
A prescription is not required. One can buy it easily. There are some other remedies that the AMA now makes us have prescriptions for.
Put a few grains or 3 balls in a bottle of drinking water, shake to melt it, and one sip is a dose. Take several times a day. When the water gets low, only add water, not more remedy...works better.
Between the two, the diarrhoea should subside. Drink lots of water. Avoid sodas and diet sodas especially. No beer...chance of a person locked in wheelchair to develop thrush or candida that makes one uncomfortable physically. It is too much sugar in the system. Can raise havoc.
Do you know about homeopathy?? We need to know so we won't go on and on about how to use it.

Carbo Veg sounds good to me - if there is tummy rumbles then look at Podophy

Thanks for your kind response. I am in wheel chair due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy. In foods, I like salty over sweet, heat over cold, activity over laziness. I am very emotional, begin to cry on bad or good news. Used to be very short tempered but not anymore. Usually like to keep quite but love to have friends' company and talk a lot. Feel neglected sometimes. I am 60 year old. I still work in a company. Job hours are 1.00 PM to 10.00 PM. Drive amodified van. About my SMA, which is incurable, I know I will not be cured. My physical condition is gradually worsening. Unable to stand on feet for last 6 years. Hands too are very weak now. Drive from a wheel chair. I am having this stomach problem since July, 2004. I eat little and less spicy but have to take anti diorrheal pills to retain it. I produce lot of gas. There are sounds in stomach sometimes. Stool is sometimes mix of solid and watery but usually normal, yellow/yellowish color. Feel heavy stomach after eating and feel relieved after passing stool. Also have mild stoamch pain below ribs on left side. Do not have heart burning. Please let me know if I can tell anythoing else that helps you prescribe. Thanks again for your time.

Thank you Murry. It is tough being in a wheelchair. I have been in one twice and this is twice too many times. Broke my ankles separately by 15 years.
Do you take any calcium?? It would be very beneficial to you.
I am still of a mind to the remedy I suggested on my first posting
Hydrocloric Acid and CARBO VEG.

Sabra,
This is just a thought.
Can he be having Amoebiasis ? This can be verified with a culture.
In the meanwhile, I would suggest that he takes Nat Phos 6x 2 tablets after a meal and checks for any relief. Joe

Thanks so very much Sabra and Joe in taking interest in my case, for your time and kind words. I do appreciate. No, I do not have amoebiosis. Culture was done and nothing found. I also went for colonoscopy and endoscopy and all appeared to be fine. In conventional system of medication, when they find nothing they call it syndrome and that is excatly what they finally said. I do not take calcium but my bones are fine. SMA is a neuromuscular disorder that put me in wheelchair. I do not take beer or any other kind of alcohol. I only take very diluted Gatorade (a power drink available in here in the USA) that basically contains salts. I will get both HCl caps and Carbo-Veg and give it a try. Thanks very much again. God Bless you and us all.

Hi Murry, I wrote a long one and lost it.
Please visit a health store and consult a nutritionist about a better replacement drink than the Gatoraid.
This is a commercial product that is manufactured to only make money. It has additives and the wrong sugars for the body.
Also ask about a digestive enzyme.
When one has any type of body condition less than healthy, extra Calcium is needed. We carry free flowing calcium in our body for fuel. When one has any type of physically debilitating condition, it uses the free flowing calcium up and leaches it out of the back. This you do not need.
Please ask about liquid Calcium as the tablets are difficult to digest and most are passed through.
You say you are worse and know you will not get "well" so, by golly, go down fighting!!
Please keep Posting. As you see, you have other suggestions waiting if you need them.
Many Blessings to you, Sabra

Pure water is MUCH better than Gatorade! (actually it seems that it's the best drink). Drink at least 6 glasses/day, 10 is better (I'm here!) and Murthy here recommends even more (16?). Seems that it washes away most diseases.
Homeopathy has been used to help (successfully) SMA-did you know that (plumbum, phosphorus and some others)?
The management might be too diifficult for on-line though
| Re: Request for prescription | From murayya786 [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-02-23 |
Thank you Astra2012. Yes, I have tried both plumbus and phosphorus, the firs one for few months and the latter for several with no positive results. It was when I was in India. Here in US, there are few homeopaths, rather unreliable and extremely expensive as it is not covered by any insurance. If you have any suggestions regarding any good homeopath here (preferably in Texas state), I can give it a try again. If you can give me consultation on a channel other than on-line, I am willing to that too. If you want me to give more details to you, I ca do so also. However, my immediate problem is this indigestion and also lingering allergy. I am having all kinds of allergies round the year. Following your advice, I will stop taking gatorade from today and drink more water. Let me know if you have any more sugestions. As advised by Sabra and Joe, I am going to start using both HCl caps and carbo vegetabilis as soon as available. Thanks for your time. God Bless.

Hello Murayya, I asked about Texas every homeopath I knew for RandyTX from here but nobady came with the reliable name.
I really believe that homeopathy will help you - it's not easy though to find someone reliable (and you need to actually be there in person!)
you may try finding someone at NCH site:
Or you could also search the NCH site at:
http://206.135.208.81:591/nch_direc...ch.htm&-findany
But if you could travel to NY this guy has great reputation (he normally practices in New England but sees people in NY too):
Will Taylor, MD School of Homeopathy, New York 964 3rd Ave., 8th Floor New York NY 10155-0003 212-570-2576
The e-mail address of contact is: kathyathomeopathyschooldotcom
This (SMA) is too serious to be treated online (and the best thing we should do is just letting you go to seek someone more experienced--which would be better for you in the long run) this is the hard part -so-maybe you will find experienced hom. to treat you and meanwhile we might TRY and do our best to supply second (or even third) opinion. If you think it's worth a try please fill in the questionnaire (THIS IS CHRONIC):
Try to answer as many questions as possible. Some may be irrelavent to you.Just skip them.

13. What is your level of sexual energy like?
14. How is your sleep? What position do you prefer to sleep in? Is there any position you cannot sleep in? Any unusual behaviour during sleep?
15. Have you had any reoccurring dreams or images/ pictures/ themes that repeat themselves in your dreams? Please describe.

This is acute quest. for your indigestion-some questions may be like above-just ignore them.
Acute Case Questionnaire 1. Onset--did the complaint come on suddenly or gradually? 2. Etiology--the cause. What happened? What was going on at, or about, the time of the occurrence? 3. Sensation--describe the pain or other feeling. Does it extend anywhere, does it shoot anywhere? For instance, "It feels like there's a crumb in my throat, I'm constantly trying to swallow. The pain shoots to my left ear." 4. Appearance--what does the person, or the part that's bothering the person, look like; anything remarkable? Red skin, droopy eyes, etc.? 5. Location--where on the body? 6. Modalities--what makes the complaint better or worse? Consider: heat or cold, bathing, warm rooms, fresh air, drafts, motion, time of day when person gets worse, what position is best/worse, stimuli--conversation, noise, light, touch, pressure, massage, music, company, consolation, etc. 7. Concomitants (additional symptoms that came with the main complaint)--for instance, pain with crying; pain with excessive salivation; pain with nausea--the things that have come along for the ride, fellow-travelers, in other words. 8. Discharges--color, odor, consistency. (A discharge is anything liquid that's coming out, oozing out, etc. So, for instance, runny nose, diarrhea, lacrimation and so on.) 9. Generals--these are all the "I" symptoms: I'm hot, I'm cold, I'm thirsty, I'm tired, I'm sad, I'm irritable, I'm hungry, I want pickles, etc. 10. The mentals: Have the mentals changed from normal, in what way? What's different mentally and emotionally? 11. What does the person say? For instance: "I'm fine, leave me alone." "Don't leave!" "I wanna go home!" "I want ice", etc. 12. Thirst--is the person thirsty, not thirsty, what temperature drinks, what kind of drinks, does he only want sips, or gulps, does he drink a little bit frequently or a lot infrequently, and so on. 13. Fever? 14. Sweating? 15. Odors? Are odors an issue, such as bad breath, foul odors of any sort? 16. What is most striking about the condition? What is most peculiar--for instance, person is cold but heat and covers aggravate; person has burning pains but is better for being covered and hot drinks like tea.
