3 year old with angry temper tantrums

could someone please help me with my three year old daughter??? she has been VERY difficult lately and seems to have alot of anger and jelousy. she trow fits of yelling and jumping from things when she is told no. she demands treats all the time, yells at me and her brothers, screams and bites. she is a totally different little girl when we are out and is very well behaved but lets loose when home.
it has become exhausting for me to discipline her. putting her in a time out is almost impossible. she jumps on the chair, screams, kicks and sometimes runs to her room. she does not show much remorse for her behavior. she will not say sorry for her actions. she has not been sleeping well and upon waking is very irriatble.
is there anyone that can help?? we are getting ready for a new baby and i am afraid she will get worse. she has a number of remedies that have not proved affective.

why stram????

Niel Madhavan last decade
I agree - this is not a clear Stram case - there are many remedies for Fear of the Dark and anything in it. In fact it is a common fear for children of this age. There are no specific indications for any remedy.

Stramonium is all about TERROR - they are inconsolably fearful in the dark or when alone. They CLING in terror to people they know, sometimes they are so TERRIFIED they do not even seem to recognize their loved ones. This terror can cause them to be extremely aggressive, they will fight as if their life depending upon it. The violence of Stramonium can be quite frightening itself - imagine yourself in the Aliens movie and something HORRIFYING is coming to kill you, and you must run or fight to kill.

There is simply not enough in this case to prescribe with confidence. Does that mean Stramonium is incorrect? Not at all but some digging is required to get more symptoms.

Agree, the current symptom picture is not sufficient to reach to a conclusion.

Mullek79, please describe the physical appearance (if possible paste a photograph of the baby)and behaviour of the patient in as much detail as possible.

repertorise the symptoms of the patient and select the best fit remedy..

dont look for the drug symptoms in the patient..

the patient has responded to hyos to some degree and added to that she has the modalities of stram..

probably its early to zero in stram but with what information has been provided, stram is the best fit.

rishimba last decade
***repertorise the symptoms of the patient and select the best fit remedy..

dont look for the drug symptoms in the patient.. ***

Wrong. After repertorization, the symptoms of the drugs must be matched with MM entries to understand whether the general picture of the remedy is in tune with the patient's generalities.

***the patient has responded to hyos to some degree and added to that she has the modalities of stram..***

She may have some modalities, bu I would not give anything unless the drug is suggested on the basis of symptom totality.

Note : Please don't instruct like a teacher...DO THIS AND DON'T DO THIS. The person on the other side may not always be a novice.

i did give the stram this morning. i was not able to read these posts until this morning.

NIEL here are some more symptoms or characteristics that might help. she wakes up very irritable. demanding to eat. she craves sweets, candy, ice cream, cookies etc. she loves to bathe, or shower, loves the water. she is daring.falls, but does not often cry from injury. she is tall and slender for her age, light skin , brown hair, brown eyes. she seems so angry and i feel as though this was not always the way she was a baby. she had colic as an newborn but after that cleared she was a very pleasant, very adaptable, easy going baby. she has always been a good sleeper unitl recently. she has some trouble falling asleep and wakes early now.
i understand that some of her behavior is considered 'normal' but it seemed to have come on rather suddenly, over the course of a few weeks.
family- she is the second of three children. the only girl. her older brother is very talkative and personable, a natural leader. i thought perhaps she feels slighted or jealous of her brothers. she is aggressive at times with her younger brother, she has hit him, bit him and screamed at him. she screams very loud when angry. and runs about sometimes jumping from the furniture. she also has tried to run away.
it seems like the way i have described her she is awful, but sometimes she is sooooo sweet and most people say she is a sweetheart. she is very caring of her dolls and is affectionate.
also, we are preparing for a new baby in the next month or so and am afraid she will worsen when there is another baby in the house.
hope this helps. thank you.

Since you have given Stram already, let's wait for a week and observe the changes if any.

Post back n her condition after a week.

Medorrhinum is a remedy which is predominantly indicated for the people who are very comfortable at night. They are happy, exhilarated and excited as evening sets in. Such behaviour can be expressed by the phrase, 'Cross by day, Merry by night'.

It is an important remedy for children who are very passionate, affectionate and loving. They have strong desire for love and affection. It is also indicated for behavioural problems of children. Children who are rude and aggressive, who throw temper tantrums, who fight with other children, especially during the day and who kick and strike their parents or relatives can be Medorrhinum.

At night these children become very playful, comfortable and affectionate.

It is one of the important remedies where there is a history of Gonorrhoea in parents or patient himself. The other causative factor is Anticipation. Anticipating the sickness brings on the trouble and also thinking of the complaints < +++.

Right from childhood, they have the capacity to receive intuitive feelings. And this intuition usually comes true. On so many occasions, they can predict accidents, natural calamities or results of exams and in reality that actually works out to be true. The other extreme of love i.e. hate, is a much more intense feeling in Medorrhinum. A child who was getting 'A' grade, in school, suddenly starts getting 'F'. The child who used to love his parents starts hating them from the depth of his heart. A child who had tremendous attachment to animals (Aethusa, Nuphar luteum) starts hating them and this child becomes very violent towards animals, esp. rats, mice, etc. (Tarent., Anac., Mosch). All these remedies are very cruel towards animals. In Tarantula, you will find violence, with physical restlessness and mobility. In Anacardium, you will find two wills and confusion about what is right and what is wrong. While in Moschus, you will find lot of sexual excitement and violence of the last degree. Moschus becomes an important remedy for sexual perversions and nymphomania, starting at a very early age of life.

The child is very sensitive and emotional. He loves flowers, beauty and takes good care of them. The child who was polite, soft, passionate and loveable turns into a devil. He feels a strong desire to bite, kick, hit, strike. He is very rude and aggressive. All his actions become erratic, he develops inner hardness, which is very deep and that is why it is very difficult to handle these children.

These children love whatever is forbidden. If you tell them not to do certain things, they are the first people to go and do it. This quality is similar to Tarentula. That is what makes them courageous and brave. Both these remedies are courageous, but in Tarentula, they have no soft corner for anything. They can lie with so much confidence, that the other person starts believing it as the truth. For example, if he was given some money, he will not return the balance amount. He will spend it on himself. On being asked the details he will say that maybe the balance money fell from his pocket. If you point out the chocolate marks around his mouth, then he will give an explanation that the chocolate was given by a friend. He will never admit the truth, even in the worst of circumstances.

In Medorrhinum, the child starts with a lie but does not know how to finish and gets caught half-way through, starts fumbling and he doesn't have the same confidence as the Tarentula child.

As this child grows into a teen-ager, he wants to experience everything. He wants to try out new things in life. He likes to go out with girls for parties, discotheques etc. These are the young children you will find moving around in the streets or discotheques, late at night. They always love to do what is forbidden. If the father says, come back at 10. p.m., they will come back at 2 a.m. They will sneak out of the house, once the parents have gone to sleep. They smoke, drink and they have sexual relationship at a very young age. They don't like bindings. That is why the idea of marriage seems unendurable. They are the people who remain unmarried till very late in life, even though they have many boyfriends or girl friends.

booboo- sounds interesting. and medorr. sounds alot like my daughter. i call her my 'street angel, house devil' people on the outside would never guess this is the same girl. she is very sweet and cooperative in company but once home she lets loose. she loves animals esp. dogs. if the stram does not work should i try medorr. and what dose????

mullek79 last decade
also, no gonnorhea in the patient or parents though i did suffer with yeast infection and bladder infections (never had before pregnancy) while pregnant with her.

mullek79 last decade
Please wait for 7 days in the best interest of your daughter.

no question. will the stram cause any harmful sideffect??

mullek79 last decade
Don't worry about that. There should not be any troubles, if there are, we will be able to handle that.

neil, my friend, dont get me wrong... i know you are very good and bh is a professional..

professionals dont come here to help patients by suggesting a remedy and then following it up....they just give some expert comments !! and thats it... which doesnt help the patient for which he has come here on the first place.

the reason i might have sounded dogmatic is because bh described the extreme picture of stram which we rarely find in reality.

apart from the modalities concerning darkness and after-sleep conditions, the mental picture matches the state of excitement which is found in hyos and bell.

i chose stram as its close to hyos and has the modalities..

if you have any other remedy which is better indicated, you are free to suggest and help the patient..

this is not an examination..that you will be judged on your selection of the remedy...its a forum.

a single dose of stram 200c will not cause any long term aggravation as there is no physical pathology present.

mullek, please report if there is a change in your child that you noticed after the dose.

i am so happy to report that i have noticed a big improvement in my daughter. i gave her the dose yes. morning and she had one temper tantrum but was able to calm down after time in her room. after her nap she just seemed 'lighter' and happier. she came running to me and gave me a big hug. usually she wakes up very irritable. for the rest of the day and last evening for bed she was pleasant and cooperative. there were plenty of situations that would normally provoke a tantrum, but she did not. she woke this morning, later than usual, and was in a pleasant mood. also last night she did not talk about the dark, which she usually does. i hope that the improvement continues. thank you!!
i will continue to update.

mullek79 last decade
mullek, thanks for the update..

please continue to update every week...

incase you find that the effect of the remedy is gradually diminishing and the symptoms are returning, please intmate us so that a long term treatment plan can be made.

for now, its evident that stram will help.

best wishes.
