Dr. Sameer Vermani, please help if you have time

Can you offer some help with my son, he has a runny nose that began last night with being stuffy.

This also happened recently and I think it also happened on a day when I had him playing outside with water. Last night his nose became stuffy and this morning it started by running and the discharge was green only in the morning the first time we cleaned it. After that and throughout the day it's been running clear, mostly, and constant. Also, again, his right eye is watery and I think most of the nose discharge is from the right side, too, or at least it was at first.

He's also been licking around his mouth a lot.

He's nursing or trying to, nurse a lot. Lately I've been really aggrevated by this and I feel horrible. The last thing I ever wanted was for our time nursing together to end on such a bad note, with me so anxious about it... :(

However, he's been very good otherwise. He's been very calm and watching too much TV.

He ate a very good meal today, but I began to notice last night that, especially in the evening, he doesn't want a big dinner, but just lots of fruits and snacks. He did have a great big lunch today, though! Same yesterday...his appetite diminishes as athe day goes on, I think.

Oh, he's been sneezing also, maybe 4 or 5 times today.

Seems to be getting thirsty for water, just like last time.

When he's like this it's almost a break from what we normally go through. He seems more mature.

I know you're busy and I almost feel like this is too minimal to contact you about, but I'm afraid that it could turn to something more bothersome and figured it would be best to treat it now. Since I took the Ars today I'm really paranoid about doing what I usually do and giving him stuff from the Hyland's Kid's Kit...like the Aconite.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Pulsatilla 6c ,give 3 doses where each dose is 1 teaspoon.

Thank you Dr. Sameer. I went to Whole Foods, but they don't carry Pulsatilla 6c and were out of the 30c (I was going to get it just in case it would be okay to use...). I will go to another health food store tomorrow and get that. I'm pretty sure this place will have it in stock. Our Whole Foods cut down in their stock to a bare minimum. I guess homepathy isn't that popular in this area...it's a shame, they never have what I need.

Anyways, thank you!

Okay, I finally got the remedy! I just want to make sure...I dilute it as usual, right, in spring water? Then give a teaspoonful 3 times 30 minute intervals?

I'm finding it difficult to figure out a space of time where he's not nursing or eating...maybe I'll try at night. He is constantly nursing and ever since I posted here that he was calm I think I jinxed us, because he's SOOOOO irritable now.

I had a question... Is this remedy for an overall thing or is it just to treat the cold?

If this is only for the cold, can we do anything for his overall health? I know that in my last post about him you said that we would wait, but he's just having such a hard time with so many things that I hate to see that. Especially with his nervousness, comfort-nursing, and sleep problems. :(

Thanks so much!

yes dilute as usual, a tsp 3 times at 30 mins gap.
It should help him overall as well.

This worked almost instantly for his cold! :) I'm hoping to see other improvements as well!

I forgot to update that I gave it to him on the 16th at night.

Good to hear :)

No other improvements to report...in fact, all the opposite. He seems to be more irritable, clingy, nurses more (didn't think this was even possible!). I guess because I've been short tempered and the nursing thing is just going downhill. I feel disgusted by it, anymore, and he needs it more than ever! If he would JUST stay still while nursing, but he wants to fidget, twist, turn, et c. as if he's being stung by ants!

I may have to stop cold-turkey. :`-( Either way I feel it's damaging to him that I want to push him aside. I'm so, so sad about this and I feel so torn...

Let us not give him anything till you have responded fully to Ars 1M.

I thought you might say something like that!

:-)

Thanks!

Hey Dr. Sameer,

I was wondering if you could advise on something to give my son. He began with a stuffy nose the day before yesterday.

Yesterday his nose was runny and I had his blowing it a lot with a bit of a random cough.

Today he's very congested in the chest and with a runny nose. He's coughing a lot and it's that sort of cough from the chest. His eyes are red and watery now after nap and he's coughing more than he was earlier today.

I'm worried because over a few hours what seemed like symptoms of seasonal allergies quickly turned into flu symptoms. He feels warm on his head and has swollen lumps on the side of his neck...forget what these are called.

He's not active as usual and would rather lounge around watching TV. Normally he's moving non-stop, even if he's watching TV or playing on the computer.

Last time we felt something was coming on you told me to take Aconite and was wondering if this would be something good to give him?

I have the remedies from the Hylands Kid's Kit and all the stuff you've told me to get over time. If it's possible for me to give something I already have that would be great because I can't take him out in the rain to go to Whole Foods.

Thanks!

Kind Regards,
Ana

P.S. here are the remedies included in the Kid's Kit:

Aconitum Napellus 30x
Arnica Montana 30x
Belladonna 30x
Chamomilla 30x
Ferrum Phos 30x
Hepar Sulphuris Calcareum30x

Hi Ana,

The symptoms you gave are not specific enough.

Please give aggravation/amelioration triggers and times for the cough.

Also, this desire to blow the nose, does it still exist ?

What are the things that have changed since this acute started ?

The cough is mainly bad at night/am. Around 1:00-3:00am and it lasts for about an hour.

During the day he'll cough a few times, sporadically, but not serious.

His nose is still running and he still blows it periodically, when it runs. It's not as bad as before where his nose and around his mouth got irritated from so much blowing. It has improved.

I think he's had slight fever.

He's been more active, almost normal, but clingy, whiny (if he doesn't get his way he's more persistent than normal).

There's definitely improvement all around and I think it's going away. The cough is still the same, though.

He only wants to blow his nose when it's runny.

I was thinking, it's not so much that he coughs around 1-3am, but that he starts to cough once he's deep in sleep, about 1-2 hours after he's gone to sleep. He's going through some insomnia phase and is going to sleep very late (12-1am) and it's probably because of something I'm doing wrong with our schedule, but I digress. His nose isn't running anymore.

Hi ana,

If he is improving, let us not give any remedy.

sameervermani last decade
Yes, he's improved. He didn't cough last night and his nose isn't running, just a tiny bit stuffy and still moody/fussy.

Kind regards,

Ana
