Hi, I am the mother of a 2.5 yr active boy ! He is a active , healthy kid,He always ate and slept well. He was extreamly smart and has proven himself by reading alphabets and numbers 1-10 before he was 18 mths old.He then hit a plateu , by adding nothing new..no daddy mummy ,.only thing he would do was recite A-Z and 1-10 he cud do it in reverse, 10-1. Around his 2nd brithday his Dr suggested we show him DVD to enhance his communication. And that worked, after seeing his baby babble DVD just once, he started repeating everything in it..and by the time he is 2.5 he has a huge vocabulary, including colours , shapes , numbers till 100 about 25 nursery ryhmes and spellings of abt 15 words.he also started calling us Daddy and Mommy. He has what people call "Photographic memory " When he is playing with his toys , his fav being his train set and blocks..he talks non stop...its like hearing DVD's playing in the background...he recites things from various DVD an.d TV shows. He saw Dora 3 times and shocked us by telling 1-10 in spanish. We are indians and dont understand Spainsh except " hola and adios".He watched Leap frog and now does basic addition and substraction .As you read the above mentioned paragraph, you will woner what my problem was..he seems smart for a 2.5 yr old.

Well our problem is our kid talks to himself all day.We cant communicate with him.If he needs something he will let us know.By saying "Please....," "I want " " Cant reach " and says "Thanks you " whenhe gets what he wants or even " welcome " when we say thank you. But simple questions that we ask like Do you want milk ? He does not see to understand how to answer "yes " " no" or He does not answer our questions..whch may seem typical for toddlers, what he does when we talk to him is that he continues talkng to himself..as totally seems unaware that we are talking to him.he continues what he is doing and totallu ignores or any person who talks to him.People who see him say " he is a genius" But I as a mother just want to have a normal conversation with him,I wish that he answers when talked to , or atleast acknowledges when he sees a person. He seems to be in his own world !!He does not play with other kids,,,rather totally ignores them.He just seems distant and isolated in a crowd...talk to himself but he seems happy too (alone). He sings nursery ryhmes to himself and keeps counting or telling out spellings to himself all day !!

He could not follow simple commands like "pick up your cup " or "where is your truck".But with repeated training and directing, now he does simple commands like " keep your cup in the kitchen" or " please t hrow the wrapper in the trash" .We are havinga real tough time with potty training too.He seems least bothered about a soiled underwear !

I want to know if any one has any advice on what else I can do to encourage my son to be more interactive. I am a stay at home mom and I am willing to try any techniques to help my son be more interactive.

I want to specifically work on his eye contact & social interaction/ potty training.

Thanks

Hi,

Please tell about any adverse reactions to vaccinations in the past.

Also mention about his food cravings/aversions, likes-dislikes in temperature/weather, any fears or anxieties.

Also, talk about the level of affection shown by the child. How sympathetic is he to other's problems/pain ?

Thanks a lot for taking your time to reply.

about the questions asked.

1. He never had any reactions to any vaccinations, never even fever or any other discomfort.

2. He is a good eater, loves vegetable and fruits and is open to trying new foods. He is not shows any fears even on fast rides, new places , new situations or people. He just seems aloof with people. He is usually cheerful and happy alone.

3. He shows a lot of affection to me(his mother ).Not much to others.Has shown no reaction to seeing other kids cry. He does laugh when others laugh. He has never shown any aggression. He shys away if anyone tries to hug or kiss him.Last week for the first time he actually hugged and kissed his teacher bye .He does tell bye and blows kisses when prompted.

Please let me know what you feel about these symptoms.

I would like to add that he grinds his teeth a lot.he rubs our elbows while drinking milk or trying to sleep. He is weaning off from that habit now.

On certain days he is hyperactive and runs a lot and cant sit still.Other days he is normal.

He usually keeps talking to himself....singing rhymes or telling lines from TV shows. His speech is very clear..and people understand his lines. He does not understand when we ask him to lower his voice..eg in a library or stores.

He may not respond when we talk to him..but he knows how to get us to understand what he wants. He even approaches strangers if they have something of his interest(like ice creams or balloons or drums.)But will resist anybody from hugging or carrying him except his dad and me.

Please ask me any questions about my son.

Is my son having PDD/ Autism? His pediatrician had doubts and asked us to contact the early intervention child services. But it takes about a year to hear back from them.

Please let me know what I can do to help my son.

Thanks a lot.

His energy level is constant. He usually find it difficult to calm down to sleep and usually rolls all over the pillows to sooth himself and during that time he is cheerfully singing to himself(loudly). Then he suddenly falls asleep. This routine is same for afternoon nap and at night. For afternoon nap he sleeps non stop for 3- 3.5 hrs. Night time he sleeps for 8-9 hrs.He does not wake up in between. If he needs water in between of sleep..he usually drinks water himself ( we leave his sippy cup on his table) and then goes back to sleep.Since last 3-4 weeks he has been sleeping alone in his room and he has never complained.

He always wakes up happy cheerful and singing or talking loudly.

Usually every evening after 6pm we take him out ..either to stores or park or library..so once he is dressed up he gets all excited and runs around a lot and recently he has started saying "come on..come on".

If we are not going out he is as usual ..happy in himself.

He rarely has tantrums and even if he gets upset about something and cries ...he becomes ok in 1 min..its easy to distract him and calm him down.He does not usually get cranky non does he cry or throw tantrums.

3 doses of Sulphur 30c equally spaced for ONE single day only, to be taken as described below.

Dissolve 2 pellets of Nit-ac 30c in a 250 ml spring water bottle. If you leave the pellets in water for 30 mins, they will melt. You can turn the bottle upside down a few times for the pellets to spread after dissolving.

1 teaspoon from here using a disposable spoon is 1 dose.

The doses are to be taken for one day ONLY.

Let me know in 7 days after the 3 doses. I look forward to your response.

Restrictions:

1/. Nothing should enter the mouth for 40 minutes prior to, or after taking the remedy.
2/. Do not touch the tablets with your hands, tip them into the cap of the container they came in and then into the water .
3/. Avoid coffee, tea (including green), and other sources of caffeine such as some fizzy drinks and large amounts of chocolate, except where this would cause a drastic change in consumption
4/. Avoid wearing perfume/aftershave, or exposure to anything with a strong smell while under treatment. This includes any and all essential oils, and incense.
5/. Avoid the consumption of excessively spicey foods
6/. The use of medicinal herbs, either as 'teas' or supplements should be AVOIDED during Homoeopathic treatment, as should the use of over the counter medication, unless this has been recommended by an MD.
7/. Nothing of a medicinal nature should be applied to the skin

Dr. thanks a lot for the prescription.

But I live in Pennsylvania,USA.Where can i buy these medicines from?

Are there any reliable online sources ?

Another doubt : you said "The doses are to be taken for one day ONLY. "..thats one teaspoon..everyday?.

What time is best to take it.Morning ? or b4 going to bed?

Sorry for asking so many questions, but as its for a 34 mth old kid.I just wanted to make sure I know it clearly.

But could I please know what his condition is (disease/ disorder) called and how long do you think he will need treatment? What caused it?

Thanks a lot .

I would like to know there are any possible side effects of this medicine on the kid, is here any thing specific we should watch out for while he is on this medication?

1 teaspoon 3 times in 1 day, and from next day no doses. i.e. A total of 3 doses for 1 day ONLY, and then no further doses, just wait and watch for 7 days. All 3 doses can be given on 1 morning , at 2 hour gap.

The first change should be better attention or any other positive change on the mental level.

You can buy the medicine at whole foods, or other health food stores.

We as homeopaths do not give names to every disease, we cure the person, as it is the person who is sick.

Thanks a lot Doctor.

We shall be buying the medicine from Whole foods soon and shall positively get back with the results.

I would like to tell you that for the last 3-4 weeks , I have started GFCF diet with him and he has started showing noted improvement in eye contact and response to name.Still there is lot more change we expect in him. Should we continue with this diet?

hello Dr,

Today we went to Whole foods to buy Sulphur 30c.This is the first time I am ever "buying" a homeo medicine from the store.

So sorry for asking all these questions. The store person told me the medicine was for "skin issues" and I got confused , so I just wanted to clarify with you ... that I have to buy the Sulphur 30C thats available in Whole foods (http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/)?

Thanks a lot.

Yes, it is correct, the store person does not know the depth of a remedy like Sulphur.

It is one of the remedies which when well indicated, has the power to cure very deep disorders, and is certainly far from being just a remedy for skin problems.

And, anyways, there is never "this for that" medicine in homeopathy. The medicine is appropriate for a totality of symptoms, and medicines are never tied to conditions like "skin problems" or "constipation".. There are hundreds of remedies which can be useful for skin problems.

You might want to see the book Impossible Cure by Amy Lansky, Phd. who has written extensively on her son's cure of autism with Homeopathy.

She has her own homeopathy forum.
