six month old daughter seborreic dermatitis

My daughter is a very pleasant 6 month old, but for the past few months she has had dermatitis very badly. She scratches herself and has had to be on antibiotics because of a mrsa lesion. This is more than just a mild irritation now, I have to find her help.

She has copper hair, like copper like a new penny. She is fair skinned and was breastfed until I was put on antibiotics because of the infection spreading to me. I plan to breastfeed again when I am done.

I have tried cutting out milk, but I accidentally will eat something with cheese without even noticing. She'll have a few days with great skin then in an hour, she will be red and sandpapery on her front trunk, 'love handles,' parts of her arms and legs, around her mouth and beside her ears.

Please help us.

I feel in my gut that this is an issue with yeast.

Any suggestions as to erradicating MRSA for good would be appreciated as well!

Any suggestions as to

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Is she allergic to milk or milk products?

Can you describe her personality, her activities, attitude etc?

She is eceptionally happy. She only cries when she is hungry or wet. And then she gives meonly a moments notice before being very angry. Aside from that she smiles at everyone she sees. She is not afraid of people. She will sit and play by herself quite a bit. She is very independent. She enjoys feeding herself with a bottle, hough I breastfeed usually. She wants to feed herself with a spoon. For example, she tried peas and repeatedly had a disgusted look on her face, but wanted to eat it because she wants to eat what we are eating. She is determined. She wants to crawl right now and she will hold her breath because she is trying to move her body right. She wants to talk and she tries to repeat words very hard, sometimes she purses her lips and tries so hard that it results in a big loud, 'bwah!' and she thinks thats the words. She gets very prod of her accomplishments. She's easily distractable. She was smiling soon after birth. She kicks with exceptional power. She held her head up at birth for a few seconds at a time. When in utero, she kicked constantly and with extrememe force, moreso than my other children. Now, people comment about the strength of her kicks.

Her half brother is allergic to milk, so that is suspect for certain.

She is cloth diapered, though recently I diapered her in an organic disposable diaper, and the dermatitits on her butt is nearly gone too. She is allergic to tide, even tide free and clear and if someone holds her, she will break into a rash and I will ask them their detergent.

She responds well to a think coat of triple paste rash cream on her entire body.

What makes her worse? For example, perspiration, warmth etc

What makes her better? For example, going out, cold weather etc

Is she hyper-active?

What is the location of the complaints?

What according to you could have have triggered off her complaints? Any event if you remember.

Please don't use steroids or chemically made rash creams on the body.

As opposed to what I said above, please do not discontinue creams or medicines you are using for MRSA. However you can discontinue them for the other skin condition - seborreic dermatitis

We did use steroids, against my will, for a week because it was HORRIBLE and I could find no relief and she had a mrsa infection that we needed to not spread. But that was the first one and was a month or so ago.

NOthing appears to make her better except for the triple paste which is zinc oxide, petrolatum, cornstarch and lanolin.

Acidopholus appears to help too.

They are very standard dermatitis locations: belly, folds of the skin, diaper area, ckeeks, neck, behind the ears.

She is pretty active, but then she will sleep a LOT. I can't believe how much she moves and talks through out the day.

I first notice teh rash after I switched to tide on her diapers. Then I believe the diaper rash she got turned int a yeast rash, which I believe is the root of the dermatitis.

She was fine for about one month before that when she was born.

That said, I tested my PH and since I'm nursing, it's important and it's very acidic. I am drinking more water and eating more watermelon to try to bring it back up. I also gave up all soda for good.

In short, I feel that it is a yeast issue coupled with something in my milk... and I BELIEVE that it was the soda.

I will get back to you shortly.

Please select a hypo-allergenic (HA) formula milk to feed your baby. For example -Aptamil HA, Bebelac HA etc.

It should be a milk powder based HA formula.

not soy? I would like to continue to breast feed as well.

Please give her Phosphorus 6C according to the following method:

Mix two pellets in 8 oz spring water. Once the pellets are dissolved (on their own), stir with a teaspoon.

Take a teaspoon from this and put it in a cup of spring water. Stir it.

A teaspoon from this cup is to be given to the baby only ONCE and no more.

Keep a difference of half hour from milk either side.

If you wish to continue breast feeding the baby, please watch your diet to make sure you eat the right things. Although I would suggest a normal milk powder based formula, if not HA.

Please update after 5 days, and please do not apply cream on rashes/eczema.

Thank you. I will try this.

I have Phosphorus 30X in my medicine cabinent. Can the dose be altered or is it important that it be the 6C in the manner you describe?

Which homeopathic medicines have you already given?

A few months ago, I started with Sulphur. That saw no improvement at all. Then I gave her arnica with some improvement in the boils only. Hyland's makes a cold remedy, one of the tissue ones and that helped the boils as well. Nothing at all has helped the excema, and so I haven't even attempted in about a month... worried about the lactose base and the milk allergy.

I have given her hyland's teething tablets on two occassions when she was especially fussy with teething. Two time in the past two weeks.

Dawnnoelle1045 last decade
Oh an I've also tried pulsatilla, and that also appeared to help the two boils.

Dawnnoelle1045 last decade
We can't start with 30th potency because if the remedy works, we can't go back to 6th or 12th potency.

So please give her Phosphorus 6C.

Please do not apply steroids or any other chemical based creams on eczema. However, you can continue her allopathic treatment for MRSA side by side with homeopathy.

Dubai2009 last decade
Is the zinc oxide cream included? Not sure if that's considered a chemical base or not. Thank you!

Dawnnoelle1045 last decade
Yes.

These creams work to suppress eczema and it goes under the skin only to come back to the surface with increased force.

Take a scenario. The baby is allergic to milk protein and after drinking it, her vital force throws up rashes all over her body. If these rashes are suppressed using powerful creams, and at the same time, the source of the disturbance, which is the milk in this case, is not addressed, then very soon eczema will appear. And it will spread quickly if it is suppressed again using steroid creams, tablets or even homeopathic remedies selected without care and repeated again and again.
