help for chronic sinusitis

I am a 39 woman and have had chronic sinusitis for a numer of years. I have been tested and do not have allergies aside from very mild peanut allergy and am lactose intollerant. I suffer from sinus headaches particularly during menses. Mostly above eyes. Pressure makes it feel a bit better. Not a whole lot of discharge during day. Worst at night before I go to bed. Lots of tissues! And then again in the morning. Tends only to be yellow and green if I have a cold or mild infection. I posted on this board and natrum mur 30c once a day for seven days was recommended. I have completed but do not see any difference. (- took D boiron granules under my tongue) I do feel a bit more patient so think I got something out of the treatment but sinuses not changed. Advice? Do I wait? Try something else? Thank you!

Female, 39

Main suffering - chronic sinusitis headaches and fatigue

Other - chronic anemia, some constipation with anal fissures{6 years since birth of 1st child}

Mental-occassional depression, had severe post partum with first child, can be self-conscious, worry about not coming across to others well, anxiety and tend to have bad , fitfull dreams

Worst-depressed, like life not worth the effort and pain, just want to sleep but don't let myself. Plod along though sometimes overwhelmed

Feel like I've been ill especially headaches since early childhood

Worst in morning

Worse for noise, pressure helps headaches

Menses brings on headaches, greater fatigue, and upsetting events, stress. Sinusitis constant

Irritable with hot weather but often feel chilled

Tired and a bit grumpy in morning. Most people find me pleasant, funny and patient but I don't feel that way. I can be inpatient with my family and coworkers when I feel they aren't thinking things through. Can feel put upon. Easily offended

Like thunderstorms if I'm inside

Shrug off being consoled, annoyed but sometimes appreciate a hug

Sensitive to smells, light, noise

Bite my cuticles, weep at tender stories, tv commercials and do not understand why, very occassionally mutter to myself

Love my children and husband greatly and very affectionate but can get inpatient very quickly. Sometimes feel apathetic and my husband and for using sharp words. Can feel like a release which I know is not right

Dream about uncomfortable, anxiety-filled situations like things going terribly wrong at work, a boyfriend, brother murdering someone and hiding under a bed, finding out I killed someone and don't remember, expansive houses with hidden rooms (horrible I know!)

Crave cheese scones, recently chocolate ice cream, healthy food more so than sweets. Food aversions-strong smelling chese, meat, fat

Don't notice thirst often. Like warm drinks especially tea

Food in general sometimes makes me feel naseous

Sweat normal to more. Armpits and head

Constipation but getting better. Tend to have hard dark stool that tears. Anal fissure

Sleep well, mostly on sides but sometimes stomach. Wake a few times during night to use washroom, check children and get back to sleep right away unless I'm worrying

A bit uncomfortable satisfying sexual desires, sometimes no libido

Strange sensation in stomach like I should push, contract it, desire for a food but don't know what it is, occassionally very sharp pain in abdomen, intestinal?

Was prescribed cortisoid steroid, on 3 month cycle of birth control pill to try to control bleeding/anemia, tried 7 days natrum mur 30c. Before that 30c bryonia 7 days. Not sure I see any marked improvement?

Family diseases heart attack, strokes, depression, alcohoism and suicide, glycoma

I'm pale, dark hair, thin and 5'7, pretty good posture

Before starting pill 7 months ago I had erratic periods, tending to be very heavy, some very light, not much cramping, headaches and fatigue. 7 plus days. Now very light. A few days.

A little cramping, irritable and a bit depressed

Flow now scanty but because of pill only 4 periods a year. Was very heavy without medication

Bllod from anal fissure bright red, period-dark, some clots

Thank you so much! I am grateful for any help.

during your next sinus attack
please take SEPIA 30C three or four doses on a single day at 4 hours interval.

please report after 3 days as to how you feel after that.

if it helps, we will follow up with higher potencies later if required.

Thank you. I have a question. Sinuses are partially blocked daily due to deviated septum. Should I take now or wait until I get my next headache? I greatly appreciate your help!

shannonshannon last decade
I finished last dose of nat mur last thursday. Do I need to wait a specific amount of time? Do I have any reason to be concerned about having taken it or the bryonia? And may I expect the sepia to help long term with my symptoms or must I take regularly? Thanks again!

shannonshannon last decade
take the doses of SEPIA when the suffering is most. no need to wait for a specific amount of time. nat mur and sepia are compatible and do not interact negetively.

no need to be concered having taken bryonia.

SEPIA will cure you in the long run if you notice relief after a few doses. you need to raise the potency in the subsequent attacks if required till your body takes over and cures itself.

i have one more remedy in mind for you.. in case SEPIA fails.

just keep me posted on your status.

Since when are u having this problem . How were your teen years .

2) When did nasal problem start .

3) Were u in some way different than your friends during teen years .

4) What were your anxieties then .

5)Can u explain this in more detail .

'just want to sleep but don't let myself. Plod along though sometimes overwhelmed '

6)'Sometimes feel apathetic and my husband and for using sharp words. Can feel like a release which I know is not right '

Please also explain this feeling in more detail .

7)What are your chief fears and worries now .

8) 'Strange sensation in stomach like I should push, contract it, desire for a food but don't know what it is,'

Is it a feeling of emptiness in stomach .

I remember headaches beginning around 10 years old - being picked up from school. In high school spent a lot of time with headaches on the couch. I was a ballet dancer and did not drink enough water I'm sure so could have been dehydrated as well.

Nasal issue a bit unclear. At around 18 when I started drinking alcohol, I would notice my nose would run terribly, had to breathe out of my nose. I had a root canal a few years ago and learned I had a sinus infection - before that I did not attribute headaches to sinuses. Also have a deviated septum and spurs. Breathing never feels full, without obstruction, a bit of mucous, though my nasal passages toward the nostril are generally clear

I always felt as a teen like a bit of an outsider. My mother had a very pronounced problem with alcohol and so I had to become very independent, yet always felt unpredictable. during my childhood i never felt like i could rely on my parents, worried they would disappear and i was always planning out how I would care for my sister. We spent evenings on the side of the road because my parents couldn't drive because of intoxication, my mother would sometimes take my sister and I out of bed and night and just drive, park and cry in parking lots, take us out of the country. She suffered from depression. My father was ineffectual and not reliable. there were finance issues. although I feel i've let go of most of this, I know there is a lot of residual mistrust. I tend to not feel i can not trust anyone including those closest to me. In high school I always felt like others were talking about me, angry with me. I still feel like people may be upset with me though don't know what could have precipitated it. anyway - a very long answer! sorry about that. was very self-conscious but could also be very aggressive (and would surprise people because out of character)

'Just want to sleep - overwhelmed' I do suffer from mild depressions now and again. Sometimes the demands of being a mother, wife, working, and so much ugliness in the world I can do nothing about, make me feel a bit useless. Like there is no real point in life. when I feel ok, I enjoy life but have always felt more comfortable being on my own (easier than having to feel judged by others) though when I do get out I can have fun. When I feel blue, I just want to curl up and not have anyone ask anything of me.

'feel apathetic and use sharp words' - there are times when I feel disconnected from the people I love. it troubles me. Too when I get angry, I tend to argue and can say unkind things, be a bit dramatic. feel like a volcano that bursts from repressing and not saying anything sometimes when things trouble me - don't cause waves. but then sometimes explode.

Chief fears - my children dying, something awful happening to them, or my husband. Fear what people think of me, of failure at work but mostly as a mother - always try to get it right (though can also be relaxed in attitude)

not so much a feeling of emptiness in stomach as i want to contract muscles - apply pressure...

Thank you so much for considering this information. regards.

Dear Rishimba .

There are shades of Carcinosin here .

What do you say.

Dear Shannon ,

Do u like sunshine .

Do u like people lending a sympathetic touch when u are down .

When did u take the last dose of Natrum Mur .

What has been the change in you .

Do u feel better mentally .

vikas_grower last decade
love sunshine but get irritated by walking in the heat. find grey days depressing

Always lend a sympathetic touch if it is welcome but am unsympathetic if people don't do anything to help themselves

last dose of nat mur was thursday of last week I believe

do think I feel a bit better mentally for it. a little brighter in mood and a bit more patient. too, bowel movements are mushier (ick), not round but still have fissure

still a bit fatigued, sore shoulders etc and nasal stuffiness does not appear to be much affected

thank you once again!

shannonshannon last decade
Dear Shannon ,

In homeopathy we say that if a remedy has made one mentally better then it is a good sign .

Before the next step is taken whether sepia or any other remedy it is better to wait for another 10 days or so to allow Natrum Mur to complete its action .

Although when one is ill , the waiting seems very cruel but it is better to proceed slowly but steadily .

vikas_grower last decade
Dear Rishimba ,

Would not it be better if the patient waits for 10 days and then take a dose of carcinosin before taking sepia .

vikas_grower last decade
hi vikas,

please look at the initial post of the patient which states that natmur didnt help at all and its been a week.

to me the mentals are very close to sepia.

if there was a strong diathesis of carsinocin, i would have suggested..

lets see, how the patient feels after sepia. looks to me it would work.

rishimba last decade
Since sinuses are a daily issue may I go ahead today and do 3 or 4 doses of sepia without waiting 10 days? Thank you both for considering my symptoms

please go ahead and take SEPIA 30C some doses every 4 hours.

please report changes after 2 to 3 days.

rishimba last decade
Hi there. It has been about 4 days and sinus still feels blocked. mentally I feel more agitated (irritable and a bit paranoid) than i did after natrum mur but perhaps it's only because I had my period? Should I continue to wait? try again? give my body a rest? reconsider natrum mur? oh my, I'm very confused. thank you for your assistance.

shannonshannon last decade
Dear Shannon ,

Please be patient , give 7 to 10 days before any conclusion can be reached about the impact of sepia .

vikas_grower last decade
Somehow Carcinosin seems indicated and the fact that u benefitted from Natrum mur also points to that .

But at the moment it is better to wait and watch and have patience

Let Rishimba comment on this

vikas_grower last decade
vikas is right.

please wait till the initial aggravation is over and you return to your original state.

if you see, you feel better after the initial aggravation, we will think that the remedy is acting.

in any case, one should not take any thing now.

please have patience.

rishimba last decade
and do come back to report how you feel after about 7 to 10 days.

your report will decide the second prescription.
