PLEASE HELP!!!! 3 months old with a severe body rash
Dear Doctors!My 3 months old girl developed a severe body rash over the past four days. It started with a few small skin coloured bumps on her stomach and turned into a severe red rash all over her body. Along with the rash she has been very congested with no nasal discharge. She also had a high fever on Saturday which lasted for a course of several hours and is now gone. The pediatrician told us that she had a cold and the virus was leaving through the skin. Im not doubting his expertise, but the rash has gotten worse since the visit and I am at a loss.
She, normally a good sleeper, has had a disturbed sleep, waking up at night screaming from having a stomach ache. She is exclusively breastfed and my diet has not changed.
PLEASE, advise! I appreciate all of your input! Thank you very much in advance!!!!!

I am not a doctor, but I do have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son, and they have gone through their fair share of viruses, flus and colds...lol...
the first time my daughter (about 6 months old at the time) got a virus called Roseola. she had a high fever for a few days. then the fever broke. thought we were in the clear, and a couple days after the fever was gone she broke out in a rash all over her body. i was so scared. this is when the doc told me that the rash looked like she had gotten the roseola virus.
then the same thing happened when she was about a year old, different looking rash though...but still a rash, different virus. again, the doc said that it's common with these viruses. they get a fever...the fever goes away and a rash breaks out.
my son has had the same thing happen to him a couple times...just gotta let it run it's course, i guess.
if only i could get them to stop licking the shopping carts when i'm not looking!! LOL!!!!
good luck. i'm sure if you're doc didn't seem too concerned then there shouldn't be anything to worry about. kids get all kinds of viruses...can't keep em in a bubble right? lol...
i take my kids to a play group thing once a week now...just started about a month ago and both of my kids got 3 different illnesses back to back!!! they had fevers for 2 days, then was fine for a couple days, then they got a 24 hours flu bug, throwing up all night...then they were fine for a couple days, then got a cold...ARG....I AM EXHAUSTED!!! LOL... i try to wash their hands, but sometimes their little hands get into their mouth before i get a chance....lol...i guess they're building their immune systems eh?!?!?!lol...

thank you, belisa. i agree they all have to go through their share of colds, flus and viruses..my 2 1/2 year old son has been on the case :( but when you see a tiny little 3 months old baby suffering like that, it is hard to do nothing and let the virus run its course.
that said i ran the Remedy Finder and it suggested Nux.-Vomica and Lyc. as a 100% fit, so i tried 2 pellets of 6C Lyc this morning. could anybody suggest if and how often the dose should be repeated? thank you

so, it seems like the remedy is working. she is no longer congested, the rash is still there, but getting much better. almost cleared up on the body, but still pretty bad on the cheeks. can anyone please suggest how and if i should repeat the dose of Lyc.? I gave 2 pellets of 6C Lyc. yesterday morning and then one more dose 8 hours later. I am not sure if that is the right way of giving homeopathic remedy to an infant. I am very new to homeopathy and have a lot to learn. please advise. thank you!!!!

Now 10 days later the rash has gone down leaving dry scaly patches all over. diaper area is still red with some bumps. I gave her 2 (pellets) doses of 6C Lyc. Did I give too much of the remedy? Can the dryness be a reaction to the remedy?
She is still very congested( it cleared at first, but now back) but have no discharge. occasional sneezing turned into coughing. worse at night. normally very calm and happy baby. started having stomach aches. vomiting after some feedings. keeps rubbing her right eye. her pediatrician mentioned that she also has a mild ear infection (left ear) which he prescribed camomilla for, saying that i have to 'cut the pill in half and give the half 3 times a day for 10 days' ??????
I dont know much about homeopathy, but i DO know that you are NOT supposed to touch the remedy leave alone cut with the metal knife. Now I seriously doubt his professionalism and cannot trust him with the health of my kids.
