The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Sameer please help

Dear Sameer,

I am 35 years old male struggling with a few problems. I know a bit of homeopathy so I have taken some medicines myself. Permanent cure seems to elude me. I request your kind help. I have seen on the forum, how patients have benefited from your advice. Please help and advise suitable course of action.

Problems:
1. Eczema on chin (since 2 years)...
2. Eczema on thighs (since 10 years)

Both the eczemas respond very well to homeopathic medicines (different medicines work for each one of them) and their boundaries shrink but they never get cured.
3. Restlessness, nervousness
4. Bottled up emotions, anger
5. Slight to moderate pain in right hip since 7 months (nothing found in X-rays but doctor feels it may be a mild slipped disc. I have hesitated to go for further checkups...been on arsenic alb 6c (split dose, two pellets in 300 ml water, taken twice daily).
6. Very shy
7. Lack self confidence.
8. From a broken home.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
One more thing: Since last couple of months, off and on, BP seems to go down. It becomes okay after eating carbohydrates.
It used to happen before also but never so frequently.

Lack of interest in work,
eating without any reason,
Lack of concentration

Eating without reason, hunger pangs. Eating relieves discomfort but it still may not be Anacardium as I don't have two wills. But yes forgetting is there, irritability, depression sometimes etc.

I also remember that I used to have headaches and congestion in the head, and would sometimes find it difficult to speak but it was relieved to a very large extent when eczema appeared on the chin. I can't substantiate this observation. Again this points to Anacardium.

I like Open Air and Sun, and Cold Weather.

I think I had the Heart burn problem also but don't feel it any more these days...seems it is cured by Arsenic Alb

I have lost most of hairs in the last 2 years. The rest of the hairs are becoming gray. I am getting older faster than my age. I am grossly overweight - at 5 '7 my weight at 90 Kgs is a bit much. I eat for no reason. Eating gives me satisfaction but also produces guilt soon after as I realize that I am gaining weight.

I am very lazy and procrastinate a lot.

Since last 2 days, I have been waiting for your response, and therefore off arsenic alb 6c. The restlessness has returned with vengeance, and I am finding it difficult to concentrate on one thing, and work in office to produce some tangible output.

When did all of this start ? Any life event that co-incided with all this ?

Also, which remedies have you taken apart from Ars ?

While growing up, especially after the age of 15, my mother and I were badly suppressed by in-laws (including father) for close to 7-8 years.

At the age of 16 I fell sick. It was a simple case of Malaria but could not be diagnosed. The fever was not coming down, so I was administered a medicine which had come to the doctor as a sample. It was considered a panacea for several diseases. A couple of doses for several days, and I experienced a pronounced and visible side effect – my hairs fell from the sides. It took me 2-3 years to get them back. Later malaria was diagnosed and I recovered.

I and my mother continued to be suppressed until things became okay much later. I feel a lot for the injustice done to my mother. Since then I have of done my bit to care for her and give her a better quality of life.

Due to all this, my confidence was badly shattered and I developed a strange kind of nervousness. In office meetings, when the spotlight turns to me, and I find myself at the receiving end, I start sweating out of sheer nervousness, and this becomes apparent to others, an embarrassment of sorts.

When I was 25, I started feeling a strange kind of congestion in my head, in my mind to be precise. I would sometimes stammer a little bit, initially sometimes only. I started forgetting things faster. I started having difficulty in concentrating. I got a temporary relief after doing Ayurvedic treatment.

At the age of 28 or so, things became so bad that I would feel a lot of congestion in my head and would sometimes complete what I was saying with a stammered word here or there, although not always.

Then I took some more Ayurvedic treatment which helped me. The congestion from the head was gone, the speech became okay. Soon after eczema came out on chin. Based on my observations, I draw a correlation between these two events; there might be none.
Since last 5 years, I have been in Middle East and therefore do not have access to good homeopathic or Ayurvedic doctors.

The nervousness has come down significantly but restlessness has persisted. I am not able to concentrate in office, procrastinate and only work as a last resort.

The eczema on thighs is an old one, which seems to have come for no apparent reason. It is older than the time when family problems started.

I have a lot of bottled-up anger inside for the my way my mother has been treated, and for the way life has treated me. I control my tears otherwise I would cry very easily.

For the eczema on thighs, I saw a homeopathic doctor approx 10-12 years back. When the eczema started, the skin was very itchy, red with rashes and pus. Later on the skin became brown. The homeopathic treatment did not cure eczema but kind of stabilized it. The skin has become brown, does not itch at all if I stay clear. Otherwise it itches and becomes smelly also. Lately the eczema boundaries have shrunk by as much as 60-70% after I took Sepia.

Homeopathic Medicines that I have taken:

I saw a doctor here. He gave me Rhus tox 30 for eczema on thighs. Later on he gave me Sepia 30. Five months into the treatment with Rhux tox and Sepia, eczema started coming down. However not one of these medicines had any effect on chin eczema. So he increased the potency of Rhus tox to 1 M for two weeks twice or thrice daily. The eczema on the chin stopped spreading. However I started having difficulty in breathing at night. I started breathing more from the mouth. Then he started giving Rhus tox and Sepia together but to no avail. Then he gave me one medicine which shook me badly – Thyroidinum 1 M – one dose every week. It did not dent eczema much but it dented me badly. My hands started shaking badly, I found it difficult to lift bottles or steady my hands completely to sip tea. My hairs that were turning gray suddenly became jet black.
He also gave Thuja 30 C for two weeks thrice daily. I stopped seeing this doctor. My hairs became gray again in sometime!

I have been fond of homeopathy for a decade or so, and I started reading more to try and treat myself.

On my own, I have taken the following medicines:

(1) Sulphur 30 C – The eczema on the chin was spreading and had become very itchy. I selected this remedy correctly (I am allergic to sulpha in English medicine system) but chose the dose wrongly, 30 C in dry dose 3 times a day. Upon taking the very first dose, I felt a feeling of well being. My energy levels increased and the recent spreads of eczema just vanished, only the core remained. After 10 or 12 days, I started getting huge rashes on my neck (curative effect of medicine perhaps). I panicked and stopped taking Sulphur. It reined in my eczema and also cured another problem – I had started sweating badly in the night and would wet half of the pillow. This was also cured. Later on, after few months, I took Sulphur again but it doesn’t work anymore.
(2) Alumina 30C– One test dose. No effect
(3) Lycopodium 200 – One test dose. Decreased chin eczema but I also noticed that after a week or two, my stools became very loose for a long long time. Perhaps it was because of Lycopodium, I am not sure. I am ready for one more test dose under your guidance if needed.
(4) arsenic alb 6C – took it for my skin problem, restlessness and nervousness and pain in my upper right hip. It has worked on all three and ameliorated my hip pain to a large extent. I have taken it in wet dose, two pellets dissolved in 300 ml water, taken twice in the day. But after stopping it skin itching has increased and restlessness has increased manifold.
(5) Arnica 30C – Stopped Arsenic Alb which was benefiting me but response was slow. Took Arnica for swelling and pain of hip for 4 days in dry dose 3 times a day. It worked so well. My swelling was gone, pain was considerably reduced. Later I switched back to Arsenic Alb and there has been further progress.

I feel that I might have a comparatively shorter life span, may not last beyond 65 years and will be beset with all kinds of problems as age increases.

Other than a few things, I am perfectly normal and good. I like Sun and Open air. I love to eat, mostly non-veg and spicy stuff. Love to drink milk a lot.

Do you still have any resentments against your father for mis-treating your mother ?

How sensitive/emotional are you ?

sameervermani last decade
No not any more. There is no more resentment. But I think it took a heavy emotional toll on me as the period lasted for a decade and a half. Its all cool now.

I am quite sensitive and emotional.

Please take 3 doses of Lycopodium 30c, equally spaced by 30 minutes on a single day.

Each dose = 1 teaspoon from 4 oz spring water where 2 pellets of Lyc 30 have been dissolved.

Report in 10 days after the 3 doses.

I completely forgot to tell you a few things:
Three months back I had a pain just under my left chest. I had it for close to a month, kept on bearing it until it became unbearable. It looked like it was something to do with heart. The doctor examined me, heart related things were all found to be okay. Doctor gave me Rabeprazole, used to treat and maintain healing of gastroesophageal reflux disease. My pain was gone.

Now this must have started 15 days after taking Lycopodium 200C. I used to have a lot of heartburn. arsenic alb has helped a lot in that area. So two symptoms can have some kind of remote association with Lycopodium 200 intake:
(1) Stools becoming really loose
(2) Pain just under the left chest. Looked like a heartache at its peak! Heartburn was there even before but this pain was new.

Taking Lyco 200 may just be case of an overdose or an aggravation.

I will get Lyco 30C by Friday and update you.

Delhinut last decade
Sameer I have brought Lycopodium 30Ch by Boiron. It is in pills. I am going to dissolve 2 pills in 200 ML water as advised by you. Please update the thread if this is not correct. I will be takin the medicine tonight.

I would further like to update you about my condition:
Two days before consulting you I had stopped taking Ars Alb 6C which I was taking twice a day for 10 days and it had controlled my restlessness and lessened hip pain. When I left it, restlessness immediately increased manifold but came down two days later and I was at peace with myself although good concentration still eluded me. Hip pain started reducing fast and for 2-3 days it appeared that it was gone, almost. Only to come back after a week's gap.Overall Ars Alb experience was positive.

Interim Update (4 days after Lyco 30 C):

Took Lyco in the night of 19th. Felt a kind of warmth after 10 minute of taking first dose.
Woke up with a bad mood next morning. Had a small argument with wife, became emotional and could sense tears ready to come out of my eyes. Depressed as usual (off and on I am).
Eating without being hungry. In fact I did a bit of over eating that day and had a stomach upset, severe heart burn (this used to happen before i took Arsenic) and burning inside the stomach (first time), a feeling of a heavy object inside the stomach. Low energy levels.
Exzema on the chin and thighs improved.

Low BP happened frequently next day after taking Lyco, but it got better after eating carbohydrates rich food. I usually do that and BP has been going down every second day these days.

Third and fourth day after taking Lyco, BP has not fluctuated but stomach upset cause by overeating and heartburn are bothering me.

Lyco has helped to significantly reduce pain in upper right hip.

Mentals remain more or less the same. I will report again after 5 days. If you have any questions to ask, please let me know. I am extremely thankful to you for your valuable time.

One thing I forgot to add: Restlessness is slighly reduced, nervousness is the same. I have difficulty in concentrating on anything. It is always I feel as if I am burnt out and there is not much energy left.

I am not able to concentrate much on office work, just do enough to get by. I take deep breadths (sighs) often, long and filled with anxiety and frustration.

I have a very poor memory, and it seems to come under further cloud after Lyco.

Let us keep waiting, as we will know response better in a few days from now.

Thank you Sameer for replying. Just for your information, I have had to take an Anta-acid (like Diegene) for indigestion and heartburn. Hope it won't interfere with the working of Lyco.

Dear Sameer,

Reporting after 10 days of taking Lyco 30C

(1) Anger and emotions – Don’t know
(2) Lack of concentration, memory – Worsened initially before improving.
(3) Restlessness – Initially worsened before improving from 5th day. I was able to concentrate and do my work. Still felt bouts of restlessness in between, but more or less I was at peace for a couple of days.
(4) Nervousness – Don’t know.
(5) Depression – Initially increased and then became better.
(6) Sleep – I would take a lot of time to sleep. But after Lyco, I would sleep easily.
(7) Low Blood Pressure – Usually this was going down every second day, and I would have to eat something rich to shore it up. It dipped twice on the second day of Lyco, then remained steadied for 3 days, again dipped on 4th day once and since last 5 days, it has not gone down. So this is some improvement.
(8) Bowel movement – Improved. I was not having proper bowel movements; it would be loose. There is noticeable improvement in it.
(9) Heart burn – It was under control after taking Rabeprazole, used to treat and maintain healing of gastroesophageal reflux disease, or perhaps it became okay after taking Ars Alb but Lyco brought it out with full force. On 2nd and 3rd I have had to take Anta-Acid liquid and Eno. Then it became okay on its own before surfacing again today.
(10) Pain in Upper right hip (right sided sciatica I think) - Improved considerably initially and then worsened. Getting further worse as the medicine effect is wearing off.
(11) Head Congestion – Worsened initially, then improved. I feel a strange kind of pain in my forehead, which is relieved by eating. I sense Anacardium may be called for, but may be later as this looks like in a lower layer.
(12) Chin eczema – Improved initially. Now deteriorating.

(5) Lack self-confidence - Don’t know.
(7) Pain in upper right hip. Bearable as of now.
(11) Feeling of jealousy, holding grudges – No effect
(13) Eczema on thighs – Improved initially. Worsened as the medicine effect wore off.
(4) Procrastination – Slight improvement in motivation from 5th day
(5) Energy Levels – Worse initially, better after sometime.

Some other current & persistent symptoms:
· Lack peace of mind
· Lack concentration
· Difficulty in starting anything new
· Restlessness and a strange kind of pain in forehead are relieved by eating. This pain was very frequent 3-4 years back but improved considerably a little later, perhaps because my system threw it out in the form of eczema on chin.
· Every few minutes while working, I get diverted and start either reading newspapers online or do something else – some kind of an escapist tendency.
· I shy away from taking new responsibilities and in starting something new. There is a strong inclination to procrastinate.

Order of problems (from latest to the oldest)
· Pain in right upper hip
· Heart burn and shaky bowel movements
· Low BP – frequent, every second day. Will improve after eating
· Eczema on chin
· Falling and graying of hairs
· Low BP – occasional, no more than once in 3 months
· Tension, depression, restlessness, nervousness
· Muscular rheumatism, Coccydynia (happened at the age of 18, Completely cured, no repeat)
· Eczema on thighs

Thanks a lot for you time and support. May God bless you!

Please procure Lycopodium 1M, do not take it without talking to me, update me in 1 more week.

sameervermani last decade
Dear Sameer,

I am in India since last 2 days. I have got Lyco 1M liquid from Dr. Reckeweg & Co.

How should I dose? Should I wait to take medicine until I go back to my place after a week or should I take medicine while I am in India. I am asking this because I think the climate of the place may affect how the remedy works.

It has been 15 days since I took Lyco 30C. There are definitely a few noticeable improvements
(1) Bowel movement is again regular and fine.
(2) Low BP occurance is much less.
(3) Heart Burn is rare. If you remember from my last posts. Heart burns were controlled after taking some strong allopathic tablets and perhaps arsenic alb 6C but I think Low BP had become more frequent. Taking Lyco had resulted in this old thing coming back with full force for a few days. I had to intervene by taking anta-acid and diegene to control heart burn but it seems to have nicely settled in a few days, and I don't experience heart burns now, atleast till I dose Lyco 1M.

The other symptoms are:

1) Anger and emotions – Don’t know

(2) Lack of concentration, memory – Memory OK. Concentration worse due to restlessness perhaps.

(3) Restlessness –Much Worse

(4) Nervousness – Worse

(5) Depression – Don't know.

(6) Sleep – Initial good progress has come to an end.

(7) Low Blood Pressure – Less frequent now.

(8) Bowel movement – Good!

(9) Heart burn – Getting better.

(10) Pain in Upper right hip (right sided sciatica I think) - Improved
considerably initially for 2-3 days. Worst now.

(11) Head Congestion – Don't know. This is in the lower layer.

(12) Chin eczema – Improved initially.

(5) Lack self-confidence - Don’t know.

(11) Feeling of jealousy, holding grudges – Don't know

(13) Eczema on thighs – Improved initially. Much worse now.

(4) Procrastination – Don't know as I am on a holiday and have nothing to procrastinate.

(5) Energy Levels – Don't know.

Sameer I can't thank you enough for your selfless guidance and support. May God bless you!
