Hi- I am thrilled to have found this place! I'd appreciate your help.
I have a bad ear infection, left ear, about 7 wks now. Started after listening to loud music and then standing out in the cold, 2 wks before moving to a new house. Worse at night. Heat pad often feels nice but hasn't helped it heal. In the hot shower I have hardly any ear pain. Feels like the inside of my ear is being pulled toward the center of my head. Hurts alot. Pain extends to my jaw, teeth, head above the ear, down into the neck. Neck/shoulders/back of head are really sore (just starting a couple days ago). Really angry/snappy when it hurts alot. Ear feels plugged, lots of pressure. Eustachian tube feels very plugged. Congested in back of nose/ throat. Have to hork it out and spit it, if you know what I mean. All day/night but more upon rising in the morning. Mucus mostly clear with some sticky brown. Sore throat. Lymph nodes just a little swollen/tender. I wouldn't mind being comforted but otherwise feel exhausted by being touched much (kids). No noises. Hearing is not much different, maybe a little quieter.
I've tried hepar sulph, cham, bell, nat mur, to no avail. I'm starting to worry about permanent damage (not to mention sick of the pain).
Thanks so much! Rebecca |

Hello Rebecca, Are there any changes? Right ear is not involved at all? Did you have it checked by someone-are you taking any medicines?
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From sabra [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-01-20 |
Please try some LACHESIS 1M. Two doses, one each evening and see how you are.
Please do not change remedies any closer than 3 or 4 days so you will be able to tell which is helping.
Step up the vit C chewable to get the C into the throat first and then into the body. If one gets gas that is the sign you have had enough.
Let us know.
Blessings, Sabra | | |

Astra- Changes- the pain is more focused and sharp tonight, I've been taking kali mur today (before I got Sabra's post). The right ear occasionally gets some pain as it stretches across my neck adn over to that side, then goes away as quickly as it came. I haven't seen anyone, not taking medication. Nutritional supplements, yes. Thank you!!
Sabra- Wait 3-4 days of nothing inbetween remedies, or do you mean use one for 3-4 days, then can try another immediately? I started taking kali mur this morning before I got your post-- how long do you think I should take it, adn when do you think I should try the lachesis? I'll increase the C.
Thanks alot!

Sabra-
My cousin's name, I love it. Anyway, I have some lachesis 200c. Could I take that instead and do you have a different dosage reccommendation?
Thank you! Rebecca | This thread continues beneath the following ad.

Rebecca, the C's ok. I just wanted a higher pot.
I usually do not wait between remedies, but for some reason I have this feeling to wait "between" changing remedies when you have been trying so many. At least 2 days. Get plenty of the C going.
If it was a baby with a high fever I would not wait as they are easier to diagnose.
You have had this for weeks and have tried so many.
The body gets into a no response position when there are so many remedies. OR a vague response and you won't know which one helped.
It is seldom I find another with my name. It is from the western Prickly Pear cactus. The flat one that grows red fruit.
My Mother liked Novels. In spanish it has the soft "a", but my mother said it with the long a. Here in NM I am called both.
Please keep in touch.

lachesis is a very good prescription. (I would just suggest a single dose and wait and watch for at least a week).
Please keep posting. | | |

Rebecca-how is your thirst?
Two of the tissue salts (kali mur. and mag-phos can be helpful for ears and they do not antidote lachesis. I usually recommend that all 12-in-1 tissue salts are taken. In the usa they are made by HYLAND and called bioplasma, you may take 4 tablets 4 x day; but wait with this for some time after lach. as you need to know what it does. (in uk HELIOS sells them, I heard)
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From Rebecca [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-01-21 |
Thank you both so much! Upon reading up on the lachesis, it is so much like me- the tendencies toward mastitis, tonsilitis, the mental confusion and night-owl tendency, the urge to take a deep breath. I will give the kali mur one more day and then take it!
Astra, the bioplasma- how long does one that take for? Somewhere I thought I read that ppl would take it like a supplement (?).
Sabra, my cousin was born and raised in the Mohave Desert- I wonder if Prickly Pears grow there- I think they do! And my Auntie is a poet :-).
I'm intrigued about babies being easier to diagnose. How do you mean? My youngest kid is 5 months.
Thanks!!! Rebecca | | |

I know people who take it/give their children every day year around. Right, like a supplement. (it's perfectly safe and contains e.g. bone strenghtening salts).
But taking it until ANY health problem clears is enough, I think.

Hello Rebecca, Has your infection cleared?
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From Rebecca [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-01-25 |
Sabra and Astra-
I took the lachesis tonight (after giving remedies a rest for a couple days), 10m (it turned out I had the 200c and also 10m so I took the 10m).
10 minutes later I had, and still have, a pretty intense, boring, piercing pain in _both_ ears.
???
Thanks!! Rebecca | | |

if the physical symptoms aggravate after taking the remedy BUT emotional/mental state is posive--that's a good sign and should be followed by amelioration.
If however you don't feel generally well...
Please keep in touch - the goal is that you are cured. Post even every day-if that's ok with you.

Astra-
I do feel pretty well, thanksfor offering that barometer.
I have had a come-and-go pressure headache today, with two especially sore spots at the back of my skull, right above the neck.
Also, I was up in the wee morning (up with a fussy baby) and my legs felt SO odd, kind of burning and numb-like from below the knee down. Weird!
THanks for your help! Rebecca in Utah

It will be great if you post every day. Is that headache a new thing?
The burning/numbness of your legs-was it there later?
How are your ears? Thanks, Astra in Pennsylvania
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From Astra2012 [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-01-27 |
I'm concerned about the feeling in your legs- it might be something else (these are not prominent symptoms of lachesis-anyway if they were elicited by it they would be gone by now.
Are they? | This thread continues beneath the following ad.

The leg thing was only that once.
The headache is new, and frequent the last couple days- in those two spots.
My ear is *much* better. Sometimes it still hurts as much as it did before I took the lachesis, but only a couple times per day- can't pinpoint when. It also always hurts when I swallow with my head tipped back (eg drinking from a water bottle).
Thanks!! | | |
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From Astra2012 [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-01-28 |
Great (about your legs). Hopefully the earache and headache will be gone soon too!
Thanks for letting us now.
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From Rebecca [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-01-31 |
My ear continues to get better, still hurts alot infrequently, weird headache is gone. The past couple days I have 4 big pimples- I usually don't have any. THey finally seem to be flattening out this morning. I am still quite congested up in my head (where nose and throat meet), w/ some brown mucus that's hard to get out. When (if ever) shall I take the second lachesis dose? Would that or something else help with this congestion?
Sorry I can't get in every day, I'm trying to update frequently, tho.
Thanks!

Hello Rewbecca, Remaining symptoms are: still some pain in th LEFT (?) ear (although less frequent) and Eustachian tube congestion with bron (hard to get) mucus?correct me if I'm wrong.
We have been for years scared with stories about repeating the remedy too soon (or changing the rewmedy when the first one was correct but needed more time) and the potential cure ended in failure.
Besides 10m is a high potency-should not be repeated any time soon.
After re-reading your posts I see that you are a very enthusiastic person - I only hope that you do not report improvement just to make us feel good. (please don't do that. we are trying to keep our egos in check).
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From Astra2012 [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-02-01 |
sorry for the typos bron=brown
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From Rebecca [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-02-02 |
OH Yeah, I've told *lots* of ppl how happy I am to have found you all, but I won't tell you, cause I'd hate to inflate your egos. My secret's safe with me!
Seriously, my ear/head is SO much better. Ahhh, what relief. Remaining symptoms are: Pain in LEFT ear when I drink out of a water bottle (swallowing with head tilted back) Occasional fullness feeling in both ears. Congestion at back of nose/throat, with some sticky brown (and sometimes some less-sticky yellow) mucus that's hard to get out. (Not sure if the eust. tubes are still plugged) Also, lately my stools are much softer than usual and don't seem to come out all the way (hopefully the TMI rules are relaxed in this context!)
Thanks! Rebecca
Okay, I will not repeat.

Hello Rebecca, is swallowing WITHOUT tilting your head back ok?
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From Rebecca [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-02-04 |
Astra, Hi! Yes, it is okay. Tho I've noticed that blowing kisses to my kids across the room (ie an exagerated kiss) hurts, too.
Thank you, Rebecca | | |
| Re: Bad ear infection (?) | From sabra [Log on to view profile] | on 2005-02-04 |
Hi Rebecca, You have come a long way. You may want to try one more remedy.
Verbascum is an unusual remedy that is great for all mucus membranes. It also has an affinity for the 5th pair of cranial nerves. This may have been the headache.
Whenever there is a headache, examine what has been eaten withing the past 8 hours or more.
I used it one day for a client and he used up a bunch of tissues quite rapidly. Another time we couldn't stop a cough in a woman. One dose and she stopped coughing immediately and it didn't return...unusual.
Mullin oil (not the remedy) is used a lot for children's ear problems.

Just read the upper post on your aunt born on the Mohave. I remember living on the Mohave. I had two older brothers and we would sneak off and make a fire and roast marshmallows. I still roast m. on a chopstick over the burner on my stove.
Prickly Pear cactus is just everywhere. There are about 12 species, tall and short. All with flat "hands" and red fruit.
Babies are not full of allopathic junk and have very few fears and belief systems to physically "argue" the remedy. Adults set up barriers and are many times in denial to their real conditions. Babies are like clean slates.
Don't get vaccinations for your children. Causes so many problems. Homeopathy has them all.
I am always reading articles by regular people and scientist types that debunk homeopathy by saying it is all a placebo effect.
A good reply is to relate that when animals and babies are given remedies for their conditions, having no concept of medicines, and get well, this could hardly be called a placebo effect.
Blessings, Sabra |
