Diveticulitis

I was diagnosed with diverticulosis when I had a colonoscopy in 2004. No problems up until 18 months ago and since then have had three bouts of diverticulitis
I did not see a doctor the first two times, went on a liquid diet and seemed to get over the problem. However, last week had a really bad bout and went to the doctor. I had a cat scan and it was confirmed that I have diverticulitis in the sigmoid colon. I was put on 500 mg flagyl and 500 mg cipro for one week. I went on a liquid diet for about three days and gradually introduced soft food. I understand it is best to wait about two weeks after the completion of the antibiotics to get back onto fibre (although I know that a high fiber diet is recommended for this problem). My problem now is how to avoid another attack. I am getting little niggling pains in my lower abdomen that come and go....have been drinking cranberry juice and it really seems to clear up the pain. No problem with constipation....in fact, the opposite. I was diagnosed with IBS back in the early 90's. I would be appreciative to know if there is a homeopathic remedy that could help me keep this at bay? I am taking probiotics and digestive enzymes as well. I am going on a cruise on Dec 1st and do not want to have a problem at sea. Thank you for your help.
Regards, Jean
